Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

  1. Ive been experimenting with many different grips recently and mine at the moment is between the reverse grip and the prayer grip but before that i was using the reverse claw and it was really good but it started to hurt my wrist abit

  2. never had a putting lesson so wouldn't know which one feels best. With our different hand shapes, I'd be intrigued to find out.
    thanks for the video Rick.

  3. I am right handed but recently brought a left handed putter as it just works for me, plays with my head but works.

  4. I'm glad you put up 3 fingers when you said three I had no idea what you were talking about 🙂

  5. I found the reverse grip to drastically improve my line. When I put it through the ringer, I noticed I was dropping even more putts than I typically do from 8 feet in. However I found once I got outside of say 12-15 feet that my lag putting dropped off substantially. And maybe it’s one of those things where practice will help establish pace, but I found my ability to two putt dropped off significantly

  6. I recently re-gripped my old Odyssey Two ball putter with an Odyssey jumbo grip and have instinctively moved to the prayer grip which is working really well. I much prefer the feel of it over the standard grip

  7. Interesting! The standard grip with the right index extended on the side came from Ballesteros (at least he was the first I remember). Still use that to this day. If you swing with the arms and shoulders as block, nothing gets flicky. Lead with the arms, not the hands…

  8. I have had a very unconventional putting grip for almost 20 years now. Its pretty close to the traditional putter grip but with my right-hand I run the grip through my index finger and middle finger. Then i curl my index finger on my right-hand on the top of my grip to cause the flat of the grip to match with the flat of my index finger. It helped me a lot with keeping the face square through contact.

  9. I’ve found a lot of success with a standard grip style from 12 feet out and a claw grip with the ring finger to the side of the grip closer to the hole. Paired with the claw super stroke it’s as stable as it gets.

  10. I have recently been struggling with me face opening on striking the ball so I have now developed a interlock grip that really really has worked wonders for me. My thumbs sit straight down the front of the grip.

  11. I remember around 15 years ago seeing Chris Dimarco using the claw grip for the first time. I used to have twitchy hands using a standard grip so I switched to the claw grip and it was a game changer!
What was funny is back then people would look at me weird when I putted that way… now it's almost common.

  12. Currently using the prayer grip but with trail hand slightly lower so the tip of my lead thumb sits the same height as my trail hand thumb joint…
Then I extend my index fingers down the grip…seems to help me keep the clubhead square…
