This little lesson helped me immensely. With this much rotation and keeping your body “against the wall” feels like the arms are out the swing. Took a half bucket to get used to but I was absolutely crushing the ball. Great video! Thank you.
Grant, love your content! Keep it coming! Now, I'm not a sports physiologist, nor am I a golf instructor (haters can beat me up). That said, it looks like you are putting a lot of un-natural stress on your left knee with this new swing. It may be fine today, and maybe 5 years from now…but that kind of locking action under duress seems to be the same kind of move Tiger made early in his career. Wish nothing but the best for you. You have the purest game in group, and yet I absolutely love the passion to improve your game. If you ever want to play an old guy, I'm here in DFW…let's do it!
Grant – your videos have helped me out so much as I am somewhat of a beginner. Could you do a video on follow through? I find that I am often leaning over the ball with weight still on my back foot after impact. Perhaps getting more shallow would help? Thanks so much.
Take care not to screw around too much – you already play great golf, (probably more consistent than any of the other lads) and the last thing you want to do is to start shanking the tits off everything because you're so focused on turning your body instead of squaring the clubface. Good Luck.
Bro this little tip is a game changer. I'm an 8 hcp but my ball striking has always been inconsistent. I was taught when I was younger to get my weight to the lead leg and I always did that by sliding. I have been working on this exact move and my ball striking has improved a lot. I don't have to be "on" with my timing to hit it well. I've gained some distance too!
Hey Grant I’ve really enjoyed your videos here and with GG. I recently got back into golf after being just a “vacation golfer” for the last 10 years after I graduated high school and stopped playing daily with the team. You’re videos are so helpful and supplement the lessons I am taking and the mechanics I am relearning that make a pure swing making my progress at the range and ability to self diagnose swing issues that much easier. Just in the few videos I’ve seen you in I can tell you’re a total golf nerd the way you approach studying the game and analyzing swings in depth from a technical/mechanical perspective and as a fellow analytical nerd with a similar tall and slender body i can totally appreciate it man. Please keep making vids and explaining in depth mechanically how you approach certain shots like low punch, draws, cuts, etc.
I’m lucky if I can play once a week. Some of the courses I play, don’t even have a range. So I feel I’m constantly trying to find my swing for that day. I just try & figure out what shot shape I can hit consistent & repeat. Anyone else have this problem?
Amazing video. Please keep doing these. I’m a 15.3 trying to get down to a 7-9 by the end of the year. My problem is just consistency with my irons. This video helped a lot! You da man
Hey I have been following you channel for a long time and my friends have been telling me to send this comment but I haven’t had the guts to. Busy ima send it. I am a 20 handicap but I will play a stroke a hole. I am just getting started into golf and it’s honestly due to good good. I feel as you are one of the best golfers on the channel obviously and would like to challenge you to a stroke a hole in you weekly challanges
Just so you know I watch your videos on a few accounts that I’m not signed into so it doesn’t look like me. But I am subscribed and would love to challenge you to a stroke per hole if you’re down!
Awesome video Grant. After seeing what I do from a swing analysis, I’ve been working on this same thing but I’m terrible lol. Progress is slow but, like you, I want to be better. What you’re describing is exactly what I’m aiming for
I am how do you say….a TERRIBLE golfer lol. I strive to break 100. Last year, I adjusted my swing and now I twist my leg a little on my set up. It is amazing how that little change now has me hitting the ball before the ground. Before I'd hit ground then ball and never had any idea where my shot would go. Since I made that adjustment I think I have played about 4 rounds and all of them have been under 100! Now I just focus on sticking to that swing and am hopeful to break 90 soon and stay in the 80s consistently.
I’ve been working on these ground force feels lately as well. Try adding the feeling of trail hip flexing, staying back and rotating toward lead heal while upper body covers ball before rotating into extension. It looks like trail hip creeps out to the ball and stalls your upper body out making you react by dumping it under. Your lead hip gets low but kinda stays there and trail stays high and moves out. Just my opinion. Pure af tho! Seems contradicting to think about extension when path is too far from inside but that feeling of rotating everything into extension to the left has gotten my path much less in to out and reduced flip. As long as I cover ball first.
Great job! Sounded so much better aswell! Not fair to compare anyone to Tig (when it comes to speed). You for sure have a lot of speed compared to almost anybody else 😛
'The Squat', it's a feeling of your right hip pushing your left hip back to the left, with some knee separation(which will give you the right amount of lateral shift)and it will clear your left side and set up the perfect inside attack as opposed to just thrusting the hips forwards and flipping, which also prevents early extension, , keep your right hip from coming forward also in the DS. The Squat' requires patience in the DS, when done correctly it's easy power and accuracy personified!, You're definitely on the right track Grant.

I'm struggling with a closed clubface to path. swing path is 10 into out and face is closed like 6 to that. what would help with this?

Its 230am and now I just want to hit the range and hit some balls

These are why i subbed
Pretty much a George Gankis lesson.
Imagine hitting low cuts to get the same feel
The explanation from 7:07 to 7:25 is gold. I've never thought about that, but will definitely try it soon!

I love everything about your game. Look at Porzak golf, he seems to teach what your trying.

Is this a summer drop preview?
Nothing new on the horizon but it's good to have these emotions a little further away from the frustrations.
Def want to move laterally, I dont know why people think you want to stay inside ur hips that myth has been busted years ago.

I think I can use this, I definitely have the same tendencies at impact
youre swinging like garret
The lower ball flight is the key indicator on this. Can completely change someone's game.
Fire your right hip down the fairway
Exactly what I am working on

oOoOO yes, looks so easy!
