Soon as you think you finally figured out your driver; first go home, go to bed, wake up, head to the course, get on that first tee box, hit your first drive of the morning, then scratch your head the rest of the round!
What the hell did you just say ???
Great vid. Never thought about it
Normally if I'm able to warm up, i.e. hit a few balls before a round, my driver is my best club, don't know why, maybe because it allows me to stand more upright ( bad back ). My distance is fairly consistent as is my dispersion. Can't say the same for my irons, kinda weird huh
My driver is statistically better than l feel it is. I fall foul of not being able to fix things on the fly, ending up with bad drives in bunches. So l'm always waiting for the bad one to come out, even when I'm striping them. I try to think of tempo and strike.
Interesting. If I tee up with the ball further foward in my stance I get draws rather than fades
Brilliant. I sometimes struggle with driver and can't figure out what's wrong. Great info to have, just.need to take a breadth and remember it 😁
Wonderful advice as ever, Mark!
The best content on youtube. Fact
Massively agree thanks brah
Love to tee it down to play a lower cut when I feel my driver is starting to get a bit wild in a round. Usually sorts me out and I can get confidence back in my stock shot soon after
Def had a ‘to pot’ day yesterday with the big stick. Pulling everything left. Should have known about your tips and may have salvaged something.
I go to pot with everything from tee to green, pretty good with the putter though.
This is great advice. Managing your game when you don’t have your A game can save your round. Love this!
FOOTJOY SIZE 15
Driver can wreck a good card for me. Getting it more under control with lower tee and back in stance. The HUGE slice is now only a 1 in 15 shot now but still catches me be surprise 🤣
My driver does go to pot every few rounds or so. When this happens I break out the 4H to get me around the course off the tee. Then I spend the next couple of range sessions sorting out the driver…again. It's a vicious circle! Cheers Crossy 🍻
For most people I think they try to hit it left to right further back in their stance and squeeze it and further up dropping the right shoulder more and going for a high draw.
nice concepts here, Mark! I had my first round of the season this past weekend, and I was pleased with how I played. Im sporting all new irons, and a new hybrid, fairway wood, and driver. I've spent many hours in this off season in the simulator bay dialing my game in, and it's great to see it all coming together. My stealth 5 Wood was probably my favorite of the new clubs when I used it as a safe tee shot. High flying and straight as you like.
Completely agree. All we really need is learn to control the ball about 5 or 10 yds either way. I also have a knockdown driver shot instead of 3W. Much more reliable.
That's all nice but PGA instruction fails 90% of golfers and all they are hoping for is to hit it in play most of the time. And as you have shown in a few vlogs, if you can't drive you can't score decently.
Thank you, just what I needed
Great ideas mark , moving ball back slightly definitely helps me hit a little straighter 👍🏻
You need to do some research on "the D-plane" Mark. If you don't know what this is, it will help you from pushing the ball to the right. All of my students now hit the golf ball where they intend to hit it.
I tell the boys low cut fade here will work .
It worked but all they saw was ball flight and landing. High draw worked etc. Same reaction of wish I had that shot from them.
I say you do have it. Don't just watch the ball watch all I do before the shot. Here let me show you just like you did. Thanks
