A lot of times I used to play golf in the evening… had this deal where you could pay a discounted price and play as many holes as you could till it got dark. I'd use those times to correct any alignment issues. Chances were I wasn't shooting a full score anyhow, so I'd just work on my swing. If the course isn't crowded, that's a good time for analysis!
Another great lesson, thanks Gen. I really like when you post the video as side view and the back view. With that, I start and stop the video many time viewing and studying your movements, as well as reading your written words. I'm left handed and blind in the right eye, and struggled with alignment. Too many times I hit the big ball first when using 3wood or 5wood. 7wood and hybrids seem to be okay. I don't believe the blind eye is the problem, but sometimes I wonder. Thanks again Gen.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Gen. Thanks for the tip. My alignment dictates everything.
Hey Gen… I've got alignment sticks but probably could use them more than I do… play well this week down under… and if they tell you vegemite is good for your golf game dont believe them. ☠🤞✌
When I pull it, it's usually because my head gets ahead of the ball. If I keep my head behind at impact, I usually hit straight shots or slight fades. The only way I figured this out was by using an alignment stick during practice. Sometimes you have no idea exactly where you're aiming unless you're hitting 200 balls a day.
I like this intro!
too dark its affecting my ability to see nuance
Oh yeah! I’ve been there G. I’m a draw player too and you’re right. It makes me aim more right. I think for me it boils down to being lazy before a shot, and I just think I know what I’m doing. What helps me is actually taking the time to pick a line and an intermediate target. Then I’m good at seeing a 90° angle for my back foot. That Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons Book is clutch for me.
Love these instruction videos. They are so helpful coming from a pro!
Hey Gen, Thanks for the video. I suspect you are in Australia by now. So I will say welcome and good luck for the next 2 weeks. 👍
Good luck in Australia this week!
Hey Gen, hope everything "aligns" well for you in Australia.
We have tendency to over-correct on the course and then make it worst. Each practice session after a round where I felt that I was off from the start, I go back to work on my GSAP. Grip. Stance. Alignment. and Posture. It does help and the more you do it, the better it gets. I heard many professionals are going back to the basic during their practice session.
Such an important part of practice and playing support Gen. Thanks for the reinforcement Gen.
We didn't have alignment aids like this when I started playing lol 🤣
I use my sticks, and a tee out in front of the ball, then revert to a natural mark of some kind on the ground to help in my specific alignment practice. iT was a great aid in improving my controlled fade and draw too as I could really incrementally set up for the strength of draw of fade I wanted and really dial that opening or closing of my stance for whatever degree of these shaped shots I wanted.
It has really helped me aim FAR more accurately (not that I had a huge problem before) as I have a good tradesman's eye for lines and perspectives etc and didn't tend to duck hook or slice badly.
I saw immediate improvement after practicing with my sticks.
Bubba Watson never stands where he is hitting!
this is deep 😂
Another great instructional tip Gen 👏 Thanks
Excellent tip, Gen. Look forward to more swing tips from u. 😍
yes you are right Gen , set up and alignment are so important. very well explained on the different ways of setting up also, good luck here in Australia Gen
That was really good Gen. I’ve been hoping you would do this type of video. You should do more of these. I’ll try your tips next time out.
Hi Genevieve I love your videos, please keep them coming! Thanks and good luck !
Hope everything goes well in Australia 💪 #TeamGen
Great lesson Gen. I'm a body alignment person. I align my shoulders to target but feet aimed right and hit draws. Have done this for long time. It works for me. Your lessons are great and please continue doing them.
Thank you for this video gen. I really love your content I've learned a lot!
You looking so ….
Use the pink letters in the larger font. Easiest one to read on a cellphone
Such a boring subject and also so very important. Most of us would benefit a great deal from spending time on basics. Pros do.
Its much more interesting with Tour AD sticks and it will impress your friends. Smiley will probably think you stole hers since it appears she has gone generic.
Sponsorship opportunity and free shafts !
awesome. GL.
Thanks Gen for the alignment information. But it would be more helpful to me if you indicated your target before the swing. The pin on the green was to the right of your line. So I was a little confused about alignment and target.
Anyway, play well down under. You have the game to succeed.
Good luck tomorrow, and yes, when I align too much to the right I sometimes really pull left.
Looks like bad weather is following you, looks like you made the cut, good luck for the weekend.
Hi Gen, Been following your progress in the Australian Golf Classic in Bonville. Congratulations on making the cut for your (correct me if I'm wrong) first cut on the European (Australian) Tour!
