Do you think the finish position matters? How can something that happens AFTER the ball has been struck have any influence on where the ball goes?
Good golfers finish positions are balanced and controlled, slowing the club down from 100+mph at impact, to 0mph in a fraction of a second while at the same time making this look effortless. Ever wondered why the best golfers always look so similar when they finish their swing?
There’s a reason good players look the way they do in the finish – it’s not some miraculous coincidence… it’s by design.
Moving the body this way allows them to control the swing radius (ARMS STRAIGHT), maintain their inclination to the ground (SHOULDER DOWN), have the “low-point” of their swing in front of the ball (WEIGHT FORWARD) and swing faster to hit the ball farther and higher (TUCK HIPS).
Choosing to do it any other way is inefficient and potentially harmful to your body.
Understanding and learning to apply this finish position to your swing can literally transform the way you play golf. After all, in any journey, having a clear idea of your final destination makes the preceding journey that much more predictable (and effortless).
The drill in this video is such a simple one, but can teach your body the ideal motion from pre-impact into the follow-through and help you train your follow-through to resemble that of the PROS.
Better golf, better life!
