In this video I explain the simple relationships between where the club head is travelling versus where the club face is looking.
Without going into mega detail, the differential between these two elements contribute to and create side spin or true backspin if both are looking in the same direction. Every detail can be measured these days, but history’s greatest players learnt this long before it could ever be measured. So a basic understanding and lots and lots of practice and feel are the initial key to controlling your ball flight.
