Chapters:

1:45 Tennis serve stance and starting position
5:02 Tennis serve trophy position and contact point
8:17 Tennis serve analysis recap

At the beginning of the motion, she gets her weight on the back foot as she lifts her front foot off the ground. As she releases the ball, she shifts the weight to her front foot too early, does not turn her shoulders, has her tossing arm pointing towards the net, and brings her back foot to the side of her front foot; thereby, causing various problems at the start of her tennis serve motion.

Jeff recommends having the tossing arm more towards the net post at a 45 degree angle or even more parallel to the baseline. When using a pinpoint serve stance, Jeff suggests bringing your back foot right behind the heel of the front foot so that you can hold your shoulder turn longer. He also advises having the tip of the racquet facing down and to the side of the fence during the first move.

Coco is squatting on her tennis serve and is not using her hips properly. She has a high toss, lets the ball drop, and has her racquet away from her head when reaching the trophy position. This will impact her serve rhythm, particularly under pressure. She’s also facing the net completely at contact, which will limit her ability to hit topspin on her serve.

In recap, Coco can load up her back leg better, make a better first move with more turn, keep her racquet head closer, toss the ball lower, get to the trophy position sooner, have her hitting arm closer to her head in the trophy position, keep her tossing arm up, and avoid jumping so far into the net.
