Golf instructors have some great tools at their disposal. One trend of golf instruction is looking at how the feet work with the ground. The two types of equipment used are pressure mats and force plates.

A pressure mat (like Boditrak) measures the distribution of vertical pressure. This can be useful for calibrating “weight” distribution feels.

A force plate (Swing Catalyst) measures the forces and the direction of forces applied during the swing.

*Be careful interpreting data from single force plates. What is required for a coaching perspective is a two plate system.
