Sophomore Joey Blondia fired a 1-over-par 73 at Tecumseh Golf Club to lead the Hope College men’s golf team during the season’s second MIAA Jamboree on Saturday.
Blondia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) finished two strokes behind co-medalist Pierson Curry of Kalamazoo College and Charlie Dierkes of Albion College.
The Flying Dutch shot a 300 team score for the second consecutive jamboree and placed fifth.
Sophomore Eli Voisard (Tipp City, Ohio / Tippecanoe) carded a 73 and tied for 12th.
Junior Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) chipped in a 75.
Junior Max Shulman (Ypsilanti, Michigan / Greenville) closed Hope’s scoring with a 78.
Sophomore Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) shot a 79.
Sophomore Landon Bergsma (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) had an 84.
The Flying Dutch next tee off on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 5-6, at the Wabash College Invitational at Broodmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
Hope will host the third MIAA Jamboree on Monday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at Wuskowhan Players Club.
