SRIXON has released a new range of its popular ZXi irons. What’s so different about them and which one is right for you?
ORIGINAL ZXi RANGE = ZXi4, Zxi5, ZXi7, ZXiU
2026 ZXi RANGE = ZXi5+, ZX5, ZX7, ZXiU
There are new shapes in and refinements in ZXi5 and ZXi7 and the all new ZXi5+ (replacing the ZXi4) has already seen tour success with Ryan Fox putting the 3 iron in his bag for his Open Championship win this summer. There’s also a new driving iron!
The previous ZXi irons were already hugely successful, so Srixon hasn’t started again. Instead, the 2026 range develops the performance, feel, forgiveness and appearance of each model—while making it even easier to create a properly blended Srixon combo set.
In this video, we examine:
• The differences between the 2026 Srixon ZXi7, ZXi5 and ZXi5+ irons
• Which golfers each Srixon ZXi model is designed for
• How PureFrame iQ improves feel and feedback in the ZXi7
• How MainFrame iQ develops ball speed and forgiveness in the ZXi5
• Why the new hollow-body ZXi5+ replaces the outgoing ZXi4
• Why the ZXi5+ should be easier to launch than the ZXi4
• ZXi5+ versus ZXiU utility iron
• How to build a blended Srixon combo iron set
• The benefits of Srixon’s Tour V.T. Sole and turf interaction
• Why testing irons from grass matters
• How SGGT’s 4, 6, 8 and wedge fitting system examines ball speed, launch, peak height, gapping and stopping power throughout the set
The all-new Srixon ZXi5+ is one of the biggest stories in the range. It is a more compact, fully forged hollow-body players’ distance iron designed to launch more easily and blend more naturally with the ZXi5 and ZXi7.
The ZXi5+ seven-iron has 29.5° of loft, compared with 28.5° in the outgoing ZXi4. It also offers a narrower sole than the ZXiU, making it an interesting alternative for golfers deciding between a utility iron and a more traditional long iron.
Could your ideal set combine ZXi5+ long irons, ZXi5 mid-irons and ZXi7 scoring irons? The only reliable way to find out is to test the different heads, shafts and set configurations using real ball-flight data—and, crucially, to hit them from grass.
