A BLACK Isle golf day that has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for cancer research has teed up another massive boost for the cause.
The sold out event hosted by Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club is organised by the Cancer Research UK Black Isle fundraising committee and well supported by Highland businesses.
This year’s event earlier this month has chipped in another £30,000 to the lifesaving work of researchers.
The day was fully subscribed with 23 teams taking part.
The Black Isle committee paid tribute to event sponsors, hole sponsors those who donated vouchers, bottles, hampers, personal donations and the teams who took part in the charity day.
A spokeswoman said: “The day was a great success with the fantastic sum of £30,000 raised. This money will be forwarded to pancreatic cancer research at the Beatson Institute in Glasgow.
The committee also thanked Mike MacDonald and the staff of Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club for looking after everyone so well on the day.
Also thanked were David Patience and Alistair Cameron for their their fitting tribute to Arthur MacArthur and Matthew MacPhee, who were great supporters of the event but who sadly passed away during the last year.
The charity golf day is next due to take place on Friday, May 7, 2027.
