Ryan botching his tee shot on 7 after Grant hits his in the water perfectly illustrates how much mentality influences performance. Grant was striping fairway after fairway but the moment he misses, adding a bit of pressure, Ryan bails out on his shot. That's what differentiates guys like Ryan Ruffels, Brad Dalke, Ben Hadden, etc, from guy's like Jason Day, Scottie Sheffller (or insert any prominent touring pro). Ryan, Brad and Ben most definitely have the skill and physicality to be on the PGA tour and to potentially be a winner on tour. Unfortunately their mental games' are what hold them back. And… That's why golf is such an amazing and difficult sport to play and master.
