Hey yall, ive been golfing for about 6 months now and I had been interested in walking the course as a way to get some more exercise. So I went and bought myself a push cart and it was one of the most enjoyable rounds ive played. I dont see myself riding a cart anytime soon.

The rest of the threesome I got paired with gave me some side eyes as I walked up to the first tee. One of them even told me if the group in front of us played fast they were going to leave me behind. Told them no problem, ill try to play quick. In the end I was the one who could've played through. I stayed with them since they warmed up to me as the round progressed and were chill guys.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my first experience with yall!

Carts are always slower than walking in my experience. People spend so much time dicking around instead of just getting to their ball and hitting

  2. PompousMasshole

I walk nearly 100% of my rounds. Not a fan of carts for most courses. I know some places tend to have more carts but up this way a pretty large proportion of people walk.

Depends on the course. I play some courses that just arent built for walking. Green to next tee would take a while versus the cart

Love your gear! If you get out to Arizona hit us up!

In Colorado people look at you weird if you aren’t walking lol

But don’t trip, do you. Most of the time a walker is faster than 2 people in a cart

I recommend a different umbrella with a reflective material vs. the black one. I’ve found the UV resistant silver umbrellas are much cooler than a regular black umbrella which just traps the heat.

Walking your first round in style!!! I play my best golf when I walk. Keeps my tempo in a good place. When I hit a bad shot, it gives me time to process and move on. Happy walking!!!

I like to walk but I’m not a pushcart guy when I do. I like to throw the bag on my shoulder and go.

American cart obsession is crazy. I play probably 100 rounds a year, only ever am in a cart when I’m playing with others who are in them and I’ll ride along.

It’s the least enjoyable way to play the sport.

Mental to think that’s considered odd. In the UK it’s odd if you see someone in a cart. By far better walking than riding.

IMO golf is a completely different experience walking vs. riding. I feel like I sense distances better when I walk.

In Austin at the public muni’s I’d say probably 50-60% of people are walking in the morning tee times

  13. anotherFNnewguy

I’ve walked with many groups who had some riders. The pace is basically the same. They get to the tee shots first. I’m waiting for them to arrive at the next tee box. Especially if I’m carrying.

I’m one of those oddballs who actually dislikes playing from a cart. I have never posted a record score or even had a very memorable round playing from a cart. I simply do not play as well from a cart.

    White Clicgear gang checking in.

😂 It’s always hilarious to me that the idea of walking on a golf course is so wild to some of you guys over there. If you made this post on a UK forum everyone would be like “Errr.. and?”

Walking is part of the game to me. Carting takes me out of the game and is generally just a bit obnoxious, especially when you’re paired with people who seemingly never learned proper cart ettiquite – swinging all around, backing up, parking on the grass by tee boxes and greens 🫠

True enlightenment is when you use those little straps to carry the bag on your back. #carrycrewforlife

Walking will help you appreciate the course as well! As well as getting those steps in

  19. gimme_the_light

The reason people use carts is because it’s easier on the body, not because it makes the round go faster.

  20. MutungaPapi

The amount of times I’m waiting on the guys in a cart I’m paired with or end up playing with vs the amount of time they are slowed down by me is heavily one sided in me waiting.

The shade umbrella is such an overlooked move. I dont care how goofy it looks its amazing

Love that bag have the same one. Absolute workhorse. Welcome to the Push Cartel, brethren!

If you wanna get really wild and crazy, grab a sunday bag and walk 18 with 7 or less clubs and no cart. it’s life changing

Started walking a few rounds ago. Absolutely love it. Great exercise, just as fast, cheaper.

Push carts are sweet. This one is giving consumerism final boss, but I’m sure it rolls really smoothly

No matter the course a single walking walk generally outpace 2 people in one cart and its humorous to do so. You can walk straight to your ball, your legs stay ready and will generally hit your ball quicker because you have a good feel for what you’re expecting by the tome you get there and in the time the average person is dropping one person off to find their ball and then still going to find their ball/hit/coming back topick them up/park off the green and walk up, you’re generally always getting to the green at the same pace as them in my experience. There are some longer courses and those with designated cart paths like around a lake but for the most part walking has always been more enjoyable for me. This may vary for the short kings though noting i’m over 6′.

Bonus points if certain holes are cart path only

  26. Even-Passenger9874

Some courses are built to walk while there are some that there is no way to walk!

  27. Conner14

I always walk every round, I love it and it’s cheaper

  28. ghostfaceAJ22

Sick setup! Is that a Dr. pepper?! Love the whataburg putter cover too. I’ll be joining the mafia soon 🫡

  29. MtN_Hunter

Walked 212 rounds last year. I play so much better walking than in a cart. Enjoy!

  30. TheNomadRP

That setup looks next level great for walking! I wanna try more walking this year and I need this
