Matte golf balls might look coolâŠ
But they could be hurting your game more than you think. đ
Hereâs the issue đ
With moisture (dew, grass, morning conditions), matte finishes can lead to inconsistent performanceâespecially when it comes to spin and control.
And inconsistency is the last thing you want on the course.
Unpredictable spin
Less greenside control
Shot-to-shot variation
Thatâs a tough combo if youâre trying to play your best golf.
If youâre looking for value, youâre honestly better off with something like Kirkland Signature or Maxfli that delivers more consistent performance.
At the end of the day, itâs simple:
Play the ball that helps you scoreânot just the one that looks good.
What do you thinkâare matte balls overrated? đ

Or golf specific sunglasses help find the ball in the rough, during that slice flight, etc. I used to play Qstar divides red/yellow matte. I loved them but mostly because I could see them or find them. Then I got Oakley prism golf sunglasses and switched to white glossy golf balls, K Sig and now Maxfli Tour and it's been a literal game changer.
