Trying to fix my OTT move and I’m at a loss. Just started lessons and my pro doesn’t seem to be worried about it and weakened my super strong grip which has so far resulted in mega slices especially with driver, which im assuming is because face is open relative to path. Is there something in my backswing that is causing this? Any input appreciated!

Trust in the lesson process. It takes a few before results are seen. Practice and patience

I realize (from experience) it’s easier said than done. Golf is hard and getting better takes time

If for nothing else than something to give you a chance to work, when hitting driver get your hands lower than your D. You set up that way, but at impact, they’re at your belt.

And as u/RecognitionFirst7241 said, trust the process.

Also if you REALLY can’t get over the OTT, learn a draw. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u-VXp-MERo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u-VXp-MERo) — but don’t touch this unless your lessons don’t help.

  3. You get to the top and your fist move is to spin the hips and shoulders together which steepens the plane.

Guessing the pro weakened your grip since it was kind of band aiding your path by letting you start the ball way left and have it fade back relatively on the fairway.

Assuming you swung from the inside with a clubface pointing left you would hit a nasty hook.

You could look at some back to the target drills like the Justin Rose feel.

Keep in mind you do want body rotation but not where you just spin out with the club stuck at the top since you basically give yourself zero time to get the club back on plane.

Drop the hands into your right pocket, that’s what my coaches have taught me.

Also looks like your a little bit close the the ball as well which causes you to come over the top because you’re not letting the face of the club get square to the ball. Course I have no idea what I’m talking about so take that what you will.
