Southern Guards GC head into the fourth stop of the 2026 LIV Golf League season looking to build on recent momentum as the tour arrives in Singapore for a landmark week at The Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club.

This year’s tournament carries added significance as it marks the final time LIV Golf Singapore will be staged at Sentosa, one of Asia’s most iconic championship venues and a fan-favourite stop on the global calendar.

It is also the final stop before the team return home for the historic first-ever LIV Golf South Africa event, a milestone moment for both Southern Guards GC and South African golf.

The team arrive off the back of an impressive turnaround in Hong Kong, climbing from 13th after Round One to finish fourth overall in a tightly contested event. Dean Burmester led the South African challenge, finishing seventh overall after a consistent four-round performance.

With confidence building across the squad, Singapore presents another opportunity to convert steady form into a podium push as the Asian leg of the season continues.

This week’s test comes at The Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club, a par 71 measuring 7,406 yards. In addition to hosting LIV Golf Singapore from 2023 to 2025, the course was home to the prestigious Singapore Open from 2005 to 2022. Sentosa is a long and demanding layout that consistently rewards the best ball-strikers in the field.

Southern Guards GC’s Branden Grace, who helped the team secure a top-10 finish at the same venue last season, explained the challenge:

“It’s always fun to play out here, but it definitely tests your patience, especially in the heat. I’d say it’s a ball-striker’s golf course. You have to hit the fairways and you have to hit the greens. There are also some really unique elevation changes around the course.”

Reflecting on the team’s fourth-place finish in Hong Kong, Grace added: “It was a great turnaround. If we can put ourselves in that position earlier, maybe after the first or second round then we can really go for it. The momentum is definitely shifting. We’re all moving in the right direction, not just for this week but also heading into our home event next week.”

The focus remains on consistency and collective performance as Southern Guards GC continue to establish themselves under their new identity on the global stage.

LIV Golf Singapore takes place from 12-15 March, after which the league heads to Johannesburg, South Africa for its historic next stop. The tour will return to Asia later in the season with an event in South Korea.
