I also used stall mats in my garage for a sim. I know they are heavy and feel like they shouldn’t move around… But they will. I ended up anchoring them to the concrete with tapcon screws but there might be a less permanent solution if that isn’t in the cards for you.

If they’re new and stink, a bath with diluted simple green and some time in the sun (like a day or two) will help them off-gas quicker. I also taped the seams black gorilla tape to keep them from moving around.
Are you doing turf over the whole thing? I have my hitting mat and a narrow strip of scrap putting turf that goes to the screen, but I’m considering ordering a roll and doing the whole thing.
