For 3 days rent you can buy one of those beauties on Ali, you may have to get your own 180 grit though, not sure.

Not the worst idea. On a $500+ investment, maybe you wanna play a full 18 with it instead of a few 10 foot putts on artificial turf at a golf store that always funnel into the hole. If I was interested in buying one, I would spend $30 to take it for a spin

After a year you will be at full equity tho… 🤔

  4. If you’re that hard up, almost everyone I’ve ever seen on the internet who has bought a knockoff LAB says they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in a side-by-side blind comparison.

I normally wouldn’t tell anyone to go buy knockoffs, but they sold out to private equity, so fuck them.

Rent it for 30 bucks and use it for a round to see if I like it? Where do I sign up!?

Wait until someone starts a monthly or seasonal subscription

  7. You know, $30 is maybe a bit steep, but I think this is actually a good idea.

Just buy the Temu version – it’s the same thing

Dont forget to buy the insurance. It’s only an extra $15/ day.

  10. I’ve been letting my putter live rent free in my head while I could have been making passive income?!

How is he preventing people from just ghosting? You really think your local police department will assist with this?🥴

  12. I rented a 5 wood from Dick’s for a golf trip for like $30 for a weekend. Took it on a golf trip (driving distance, no flying risk) and played it all weekend. It was great.

Reminds me of guys buying surf boats and trying to rent them out to recoup costs, but for 500$ instead of 150k$

  14. ImpressiveGoose4015

Honestly I’d do that for one round.

wild how relatable this is. been there too many times. hope things get better for you, hang in there

  16. Blackpooligan

Just don’t return it with a scratch. Then the fun starts!

Feels like a great way to get your $500 dollar putter stolen for $30 lol

  18. Is he gonna file small claims when they don’t give it back? lol

  19. Any_Difficulty_9894

Sounds like a good idea, until you need a new putter…

  20. Solid idea. Can’t hate a man for making a couple bucks. Recoup that easily over a whole year

Miles of Golf in Ann Arbor does a rental program for expensive drivers, putters etc. I don’t recall the fee but it’s similar to this. Kind of a “try before you buy” situation.

  22. This is really popular in the tennis world and I am shocked it hasn’t really made its way to golf yet. 7 day trial and you put your CC on file at the store incase you don’t bring it back.

  23. Honestly, I’d rent a LAB putter for a couple of rounds. I hated it when I saw it in store, putted with every other putter in the store and then begrudgingly putted with the LAB… and it felt great, but unless you get a couple of rounds of true testing, hard to really tell.

    Alright that’s it. We need a r/golfcirclejerk

  25. ErnieBochII

What kinda rental insurance are you bros carrying for your putters? New to the game.

  26. MadonnasFishTaco

not a terrible idea but how do they expect to get it back

  27. AdmirableGear6991

At my old course, we had demo drivers. Started noticing the same guys kept “demoing” the club for each round. We started charging $10 to demo any club, per use.

If you ended up purchasing the club, that $10 went towards the total amount to purchase. After 4 demos, you lost the ability to demo a 5th, but your accrued amount of $40 was applicable to a sale, for 90 days.

Pro tip : if you forget your putter at home you can ask the pro shop and they’ll just give you a putter they have from their rental inventory for free to play with.
