John Guilfoil Public Relations is hosting a golf tournament this summer to benefit the Hundred Club of Massachusetts, according to a community announcement.
The tournament is scheduled for Aug. 13 at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland. All proceeds will go to the Hundred Club, a nonprofit that supports families and loved ones of first responders who have died in the line of duty.
The event will be a shotgun-style scramble and will include breakfast, a lunch buffet, swag bags, a drink ticket, raffles and contests, according to the announcement. LeaderBoard New England’s Air Cannon will be on the 16th hole.
Registration is expected to open in early April. Those interested can sign up for email alerts at jgpr.net/golf.
How much does John Guilfoil PR hope to raise?
Donations and sponsorship opportunities are available. The goal is to raise at least $20,000 for the Hundred Club, according to the announcement.
“I have been a member of The Hundred Club for nearly 20 years, and since our founding in 2013, JGPR has provided pro bono support to police and fire departments — and families — who suffer the death of a first responder in the line of duty by providing free obituaries and no-cost communications support for departmental funerals,” said John Guilfoil, founder of Groveland-based JGPR, in a statement. “JGPR and The Hundred Club are mission-aligned. We support those who sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe.
Guilfoil said the inaugural tournament is “just another way to give back to those who do so much for all of us, and I hope it will become an annual tradition.”
