  1. For me it’s the high lofted fairway wood, like a 7 & a 9 wood. Then use hybrids where you can. Super game improvement irons, like the Cleveland Halo XL full faced irons. I also have the Cleveland smart sold 64 degree wedge along with those hybrid irons. You can use a mallet putter as well. Lastly a very forgiving driver helps. Course strategy will do the rest.

  2. Chipping with a 7-wood? I love mine and never chipped with it. Taking it to the chipping green for practice.

  3. Chipping with a 7-wood? I love mine and never chipped with it. Taking it to the chipping green for practice.

  4. You need to get onto the green. So, get an Eleven hybrid iron pitching wedge 47°; a Cleveland CBZ 56° wedge; or a short-stroke 7 or 9 wood.

  5. This is your wheelhouse Andy, educating average golfers on products that will allow them to play better, and therefore more enjoyable golf.

  6. I have bladed wedges, game improvement irons. I wouldn't, and likely couldn't play bladed irons above wedges, but hardly anyone plays short wedges full bloodied. So, you take a lot of variables out when shortening swing. It works really well for me.

  7. What about chippers? I have various makes from 37 to 46 degrees of loft, and they work for me for any shot from 120 yards in. They don't look pretty, but they work great and you can't shank them. I've slowly now got down to a handicap of 10.6 and I'm a short hitter, so rarely reach longer par 4s in 2. The chippers are the most used clubs in the bag.

  8. All for easy golf ! Links golf you can run it in, our course, elevated greens and uneven aprons so not an option,

  9. There is no need to hit any “greens in regulation” when a player, as a high handicap golfer is attempting to break 90. In fact, attempting to hit greens in regulation often has a detrimental effect on a high handicap players efforts to break 90. It leads a player to attempt shots that they don’t (yet) have the necessary skill set to execute successfully. Often resulting in score blowouts. A player trying to break 90 (bogey golf) has an extra shot on every hole – use it. A par 3 becomes a par 4, a par 4 becomes a par 5 etc. Therefore a player attempting to break 90 should be looking at hitting the green on a par 3 in 2, on a par 4 in 3 and a par 5 in 4, then 2-putt. Sure, if you have the skill set to reach (some) greens in regulation, and that will often be the case – go for it

  10. I’ve got a sub 70 008 cs putter, the new odyssey chipper, Takomo sf002 58, 54, and 50. The Takomo 101 irons and Callaway Elyte 11 wood, heavenwood, and driver. Game improvement and forgiveness is the name of the game for me.

  11. I grinned from ear to ear when you pulled out the ELEVEN PW. I discovered these clubs a year ago. Some reviewers complained of the look of the PW at address, but in the situation you described (tight lies], I've become very confident in the club's ability to bump and run or even put a nice soft loft on the shot.

  12. I find that hitting my approach shot with sheep grazing in the fairway is a distraction regardless of my club selection😂

  13. The "Pitching Wedge" lofted 43 degree Hybrid by Eleven sounds really perfect. >>> Great idea. Thank you for the insight and suggestion !

  14. Oh, I need to forward this to my golf buddy. Once upon a time I had a gap wedge, a lob wedge, a sand wedge and a pitching wedge (so 52, 60, 56 and 48) but have pared down to a 56 and P wedge with a LOT more use of my 7 wood, 8 & 9 irons around the green for bump and runs — and improvement in my game. My buddy still seems stuck that chip and pitch shots call for his 56 and 48 exclusively. He makes good contact overall but leaves himself monstrously long putts! I've tried to persuade him to expand his repertoire but no luck.

  15. I use a 50 degree for most of my intermediate pitches (40-70 yds). Off the green, I “putt” with a 5i or 7i. I don’t deviate much from that, and my scores are usually single digits over par, playing from senior tees. High handicappers carry too many clubs and get bogged down in the decision making process. Even in competitive situations I never carry more than 11 clubs, and many days I carry 7 or 8 and get around the course just fine. Simply the setup and amplify the enjoyment.

  16. 12 degree driver, 7 wood, 25 to 27 degree hybrid., one of around 30 degrees, 9 iron, 45 degree forgiving wedge, 54 degree ish sand wedge, chipper and a putter would have most handicappers sorted. 9 clubs, all doing the business.

  17. I’d rather try and tame a rear wheel drive super car than drive a Fiesta. Want to be safe? Give up golf and play lawn bowels 💥🏌🏻

  18. Play golf with a 12 handicapper that uses a Cleveland CBX wedge. His grip was so warn down it slipped out of my hand when he accidentally stuck it in my golf bag and I grabbed a wedge and it was that wedge. He replaced the grip finally and made lots of good shots with it yesterday. I probably have another season left in my Ping 56° Glide wedge. It is a trusty club in my bag.

  19. I'm 70 and I switched to a full set o hybrids a couple of years ago. I love them. So much easier to hit. The only regular iron I carry is a sand wedge.

  20. Great video! The stats cited are really telling. I will be looking at the clubs reviewed. But what Im really interested in is that snazzy vest you're wearing! Do you have the deets on that?

  21. I have had the CBX 56 and 50 for years and I love them. Just got fitted and changed nearly every club, but the Clevelands are going no where!

  22. What a complete prat and hacker this man is. He knows little about golf but that doesn't stop him pontificating about it. No doubt he's cashing in with these videos despite his ignorance.

  23. Good advice. But what worked for me was when i picked 1 club. Phil Mickelson advice. Learned hinge and hold method. And practiced, practiced and practiced. Got very good with it. 90 percent of my shots inside of 50 yards are with this club. Then i continued practicing with that and a 60 degree only when I'm close and not a lot of green to work with. Always keep ball back in stance and use bump and run with clup face open and using bounce. This method worked for me.

  24. I have a Jack Nicklaus rescue club purchased at Costco almost 20 years ago. I think it's a 4 hybrid.

It is the ultimate tight lie, 15 yard off the green, no pressure club. You cant chunk it if you try…(well, you can, but its like twice a year rare).

I call it "the old man cheat code".

  25. A 37 degree chipper- NOT the one with 2 faces, but the wider sole ones is a great club around the green from 40 yards or so in. A really great club not expensive.

  26. Im 67 and my best score was 100 last week on a par70.Really love the ping 7 hybrid, got it a couple of weeks ago and my shot consistency has improved dramatically over my 7 iron. My pitching wedge (old ping i3) is fine but really like the look of the eleven. I bought a chipr 2 months ago but I cant stop thinning it across the greens costing me shots. Getting frustrated as everyone else loves it. Maybe the Eleven PW will be better for this?
