Nice vid, weird that you purposely didn't measure the 2nd put correctly just to prove it was more then 3ft lol
Excellent
Wow, for sure good information
That's why i just chip it in the cup every time, from just off the green. Take putting out of the equation 😏
I putted better with the line once I rotated it back
I really struggled with my putting until I did the Aimpoint training. Now I have at least a pretty good idea of what the putt will do. I vaguely remember the teacher saying something like “One 3 foot putts DON’T aim outside the hole 🕳️ unless you’re falling to one side or the other!!” Playing tomorrow, hopefully I can remember this!! Of course if you don’t have good tempo none of this works.
I guarantee I'll still either hit it NOTHING like hard enough, A LITTLE too short or A LOT too far!
Anyone else get the shudders when Joe walked all over his own line??? 😜
Well, this should hopefully take some pressure off my 4th putts!
Well, I applied this wisdom today on some difficult greens at Avondale (Sydney) and it took a whole lot of pressure off me. No more double guessing myself – sunk every putt in that 2 to 4 foot range without the usual knee trembling, the heebee geebies, going into cardiac arrest… you get the picture! Seriously, off mid singles I'm not missing many of these anyway, but I do get nervous over them at times. Today was a big step forward and thank you! Cheers from Australia – Dave
Talk to much , instead demonstrate
Good stuff, thanks
The first and most important thing this video does is make you think about that 3 foot putt. My problem is I just don't give it enough thought. I just step up, give it a look and putt. Taking more time to examine the putt with these considerations in mind will without a doubt help me be more successful. Thanks.
The break of the putt depends on the pace you hit the ball
For me, a lot depends on my stroke, having that touch, and speed.
This works.
it helps when you hit the ball straight 😜
Thanks Joe. Really good stuff.
3 foot putt should never be a gimmie
my mate uses a foot wedge alot too
Good tip.
This the TRUTH, thanks.
you putt better with your shoes than I do with my club!!!…..great video, thank you
I tried it today and WOW! It worked. Do we have something like this for a 4 footer as I tried the same thing but not with success?
Get rid of those flashing graphics at the start of the video, or place a warning about them in the title. Ever heard of epilepsy?
As someone who plays Saturday comp in Australia your opening suggestion that your playing partners might concede a putt is really weird. Just never happens here unless it’s match play. Otherwise you are always playing against the field. Not your buddies.
Great video and so true! Best part is short putts become fun and we all play quicker!
Using the line on a ball to align the ball for putting should be illegal!
All those were below the hole somewhat. If you are above the hole don’t you have to figure more break?
Excellent tips here. I've been struggling with putting and need to right the ship!
I liked the theory…so i tried it this weekend. only short putt i missed was when i tried this method lol. in defense i still like the method, the greens were super slow, so ill blame my read.
What kind of shoes does he wear – he made everything with them…
Why do Americans have such an aversion to holing putts? Getting the ball in the hole is literally the whole point of the game 🤷♂️
On lining up the ball, perfect isnt the goal. Get it close, & you’ll know if its not quite enough or too much break. Adjust your putter acordingly, keep your head down on the stroke, & listen for it to go in.
The whole 5.7-inch break concept blew my mind, thanks for that insight!
Good information, however there was no mention of the "grain" direction of the grass and how it impacts the roll of the ball. Break with the grain. Break against the grain. Heavy grain. Fast green. Slow green. And all the combinations of the green matrix.
Putting is not that simple. There are too many variables to consider.
1:55 putters are usually 33 – 35 inches … so a little longer than your putter
the putt to win the claret jug in '70. in the cup, edge or outside the cup ?
What about if it’s 6 feet
That's what one in our group says about me, "He puts everything." Why, because I've missed one short one's. The pressure is real with eyes on you. I always put out.
I can not understand why anyone would not want to put out, to me you have not completed the hole until the ball is in the cup
What kind of Scotty is that? I have an odyssey that looks identical to that
The solid strike is important. I see a lot of amateurs putting too softly and the ball curls and misses on the low side and sometimes rolling to be further away
than the first putt.
