Purdue women’s golf returned to the course for the first time since November on Sunday and Monday as it hosted the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande.
With heavy rains forecasted for Tuesday condensing the tournament to two days, the Boilermakers concluded three rounds in tenth place as a team with a -1 total.
Sophomore Lauren Timpf got off to a slow start in the Caribbean with a +4 opening round, but caught fire over the following two.
Timpf produced a -1 in her second go at the course before a career-best 68-stroke -4 on Monday pushed her to a -1 for the tournament to finish tied for 24th individually.

Junior Ashley Kim narrowly went over for the tournament after shooting even in each of her first two rounds, but concluding the third with a +1 to place her in a tie for 36th with seven other golfers.
Sophomore Samantha Brown set the tone in round one with a -4 that slotted her in a tie for fourth. However, an even second and +6 third slid her down the rankings to finish with a +2 that tied her for 44th.
Junior Ella Weber had a similar outcome to Kim, going even in each of her first two rounds before a +3 third dropped her into a tie for 49th in the tournament.
Two Boilermakers found themselves with identical scoresheets at the end of competition, as both freshman Luana Valero and sophomore Michaela Headlee each finished with a 76-73-73 to tie for 68th with a +6
Finally, freshman Ida Lindqvist, who along with Headlee competed as an individual, rounded out the Boilers with a +10 that slotted her in a tie for 83rd.
With the first competition of 2026 under their belts, the Boilermakers will have two weeks off to prepare for their next competition.
Purdue will be back in action beginning Feb. 15 as the Boilers travel back to the mainland to take part in the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational in Sarasota, Fla.
