Linda Brown has been named a finalist for Volunteer of the Year at the 2026 England Golf Awards in recognition of her service and leadership as part of Wiltshire Golf.

She is a Level 3 referee and regional Course Rating lead, who has played a key role in developing the county’s course rating programme.

“Her nomination is a fitting recognition of nearly a decade of outstanding service to golf in the county.”

“As Wiltshire’s Lead Course Rater, she has transformed the county’s rating capability—recruiting, training and mentoring five new raters, all of whom are now fully qualified thanks to her bespoke training programme and countless hours of hands‑on support.”

“This work has already enabled several clubs to adopt new ratings and successfully deliver Wiltshire’s first 100‑player competition from a single tee set.”

Mrs Brown also volunteers at her home club, Cumberwell Park, where she assists with course marking and handicapping.

Beyond her technical roles, she has introduced a new multi-disciplinary assessment model now implemented at five clubs, with further roll-out planned for 2026.
