Kennedy Golf Course is getting a new clubhouse, and you can help pick the design.
Located in southeast Denver at 10500 East Hampden Avenue, Kennedy Golf Course is named after former President John F. Kennedy. The 27-hole municipal golf course has nine different runs, including a par-three, and even offers a form of soccer golf (a rare distinction among Denver courses). Kennedy Golf Course has been open since before its namesake was assassinated in 1963, however, and Denver Parks & Recreation has been planning some updates there for years.
Approximately 2,500 people responded to an online survey about Kennedy Golf Course improvements in 2021, according to Denver Golf, a branch of Parks & Rec. The design plans, finished by October of that year, call for a brand-new clubhouse as well as renovations to the driving range and all the nine-hole stretches, including the par-three course, as well as repairs to fences and a bridge on the property.
The course’s master plan also shows designs for new putting and chipping areas, which were the number-one request among survey participants, 94 percent of whom said they regularly played at Kennedy.
According to Denver Golf, there is no set date for updates to Kennedy’s driving range or playing conditions, which are still securing funding, but the fence and bridge were repaired in 2025, and the new clubhouse project is about to start — and requests for your participation aren’t over yet, either.
Denver Golf has released four concepts for the next Kennedy Golf Course clubhouse, which will also house a restaurant, pro shop and cart barn. The options (shown below) range from traditional and home-like to sleek and modern.
You can vote for your favorite online through Saturday, January 31. According to Denver Golf, the top two choices will be unveiled during a community meeting on Thursday, February 26, at Kennedy’s current clubhouse.
