VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota men’s golf team was picked to finish seventh in the 2026 Summit League Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
The Coyotes earned 22 points in the preseason rankings, slotting in just behind North Dakota State and ahead of Omaha and North Dakota. Oral Roberts was selected as the preseason favorite, receiving eight first-place votes, followed by St. Thomas and South Dakota State rounding out the top three.
South Dakota was also represented on the Summit League’s Players to Watch list, as Jack Holtz earned recognition heading into the spring season. Holtz has been a leader for this team so far this season and looks to build on his experience this spring season.
Head coach Grant Cambell and the Coyotes return for the 2026 spring season and will look to outperform their conference preseason projection as the spring campaign gets underway. South Dakota will open its spring season at the Loyola Intercollegiate on February 15th in Goodyear, Arizona.
