GREENSBORO, NC — North Carolina A&T women’s golf program added a new venture to the 2026-27 schedule. The Aggies will join top-ranked opponents for their first-ever appearance in the Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament as the only HBCU representative on the women’s side.

The tournament, hosted by Michigan State and Florida State, will take place September 6-9 on the greens of American Dunes Golf Club in Great Haven, Michigan. The Golf Channel will air the event live.

The three-day, three-round Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament is a fundraising and awareness event that supports the families of fallen or disabled veterans and first responders through scholarship funding, including 11,000 recipients attending school in the 2024-25 academic year.

The 2026 edition of the most-watched college tournament will be the fifth annual competition and follows a very successful 2025 contest that saw a 76 percent increase in viewership and reached almost a million watches.

“This tournament is extremely meaningful for our program,” said Director of Golf Mesha Levister, who’s one of a few black female golfers to play on the professional level after joining the Professional Golf Association in 2006. “To be the only HBCU represented on the women’s side is both an honor and a responsibility.

It speaks to the growth and competitiveness of our program. It gives our student-athletes the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the country while also representing North Carolina A&T and HBCUs on a national stage. Moments like this validate the work our players put in every day and help open doors for future opportunities.”

The Aggies will face opponents currently ranked in the top-25 nationally, including Arizona (No. 22), Duke (No. 16), Findlay (No. 4 in Division II), Oklahoma State (No. 19), and the reigning Folds of Honor Collegiate Champions, Texas A&M (No. 4).

“Supporting a tournament that raises awareness and provides resources for veteran and first responder families is extremely important to us and aligns with the values we want to instill in our student-athletes,” said Levister. “I have loved supporting the Folds of Honor in various ways for many years, so now to participate in this tournament will be a big honor in my life, and for the athletes.”
