Golf Grip (Hammer Grip) – Adam Bazalgette

  1. This is so simple that most will scroll right past it, when in fact it is one of the most powerful instructions an amateur player can receive. That pad on the heel of the palm, is what my instructor back in the late 90’s called the big muscle of golf. 🙂
If the player can get the club handle under the pad and over the first finger, this will create a lever that absolutely will not allow the club to even be pulled out of the hand with no additional pressure required. Thus you have achieved a firm but light grip as Arnold Palmer referred to. Then just lightly roll the other three fingers around the shaft and place the right hand on.
