Recapped some of the early photos from last year when we finished our house, as well as the final push to be golfing Christmas eve, which was achieved! See my previous post for the heating system, HRV etc if interested.
To anyone on the fence, I say go for it, if even a moderate golf fan. Its been such a blast to hit some balls every night, and play a quick round, have friends over. Having a movie theatre night for New years as well with some family coming up.
I wasn't initially too sure about finishing entirely this winter, and apologies for getting a bit political, however as a Canadian there was just no way we were moving forward with a US golf trip this year. We had tentatively planned something down by Big Cedar, but its very difficult for me, as a proud Canadian to spend my hard earned money in the US right now while the President threatens our sovereignty and acts erratically, even if the majority of Americans are reasonable people. Most Americans are fairly patriotic, so I'm sure many can understand. Once the craziness ends, we will be back…so with the funds earmarked for that I instead finished the build!
My old man welded a custom metal frame on hinges, so if I want to use the full double garage doors, I simple unclick my foam panels, swing the frame against the wall and roll up the turf. Breakdown:
- Launch Monitor: Foresight GC3 (purchased 10 months ago on a deal)
- Software: GS Pro
- Projector: BenQ AH 700ST
- Turf: 4×6 EZ Tee Hybrid Hitting Matt and 15×14 Pro Putt-Putting Turf
- Screen: 9×12, Bottom Shock Chord, Velcro on 3 sides, 4:3 Ratio
- Computer: ASUS ProArt P16 4K AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (already had)
Now in a rush to get golfing there is probably a few things I clean up over the next year. I'm probably going to come up with a different above net option. I again need something under the rails so I can still use the door, so perhaps a more permanent structure there. Then this coming summer I probably mud/tape and paint the entire garage and epoxy the floors to clean up the look.
Thanks for everyone on this sub for the ideas and inspiration. Happy golfing!

Can’t hide money
I love the swinging screen. I have a similar build, made out of 2×4 frame, to give myself access to the workbench in the back of the garage. Nicely done!
It looks like the side padding is similar to mine as well. What are your plans for the bottom padding? I haven’t come up with a good solution yet
How do you like the heated floor?
Beautiful
What are the dimensions of your garage? Are you willing to share your costs breakdown for a fellow Canadian?
Excellent build! Nice job.
Absolute class well done 🍻
Saving this for my future plans
