I review a new golf training aid called TRS Slider which is a great aid to stop your slicing the golf ball, stopping your over the top swing action, or lifting and getting steep on the backswing or downswing.

  1. Reminds my of the old Leadbetter Swing Link that Nick Price and Nick Faldo used to use. The think I didn't like about the swing link, and don't like the same fault with this is the velcro. The velcro could very easily get caught on your shift, sweater, or jacket and pull out fibers on it ruining your clothing. After the Swing link ruined a shirt I liked I never used it again. If someone comes out with a version that doesn't have velcro and the potential to ruin cloths then I'd be open to that version.

  2. I bought one a few months ago after Robert Rock spoke at our golf club. I'd been having a pretty rubbish season and drifted from 8.6 to 9.9. Now, I can't prove the Slider was responsible but, within a week or two, I produced rounds of 76, 79 & 77 and ended up winning o e of our Board competitions.

One thing I would mention is that when you take your first swing without the slider it feels like the club head has separated from the shaft just proving how much it also impacts the follow-through

  3. Mines just been delivered, I've got an overswing and throw my hands out in the downswing so I'm curious to see how this will translate onto a golf ball in practice and the feels I'll need to hone in on to get it working without the slider

  4. Great review …. Have you experienced any ‘cons’ or negatives with your students … my swing and ball striking are so inconsistent and I feel like I’ve tried most things, such as the tour striker, the weighted rope, the wrist brace. Would appreciate your critical thought as a coach on this device … thanks

  5. I bought this about a month ago, and LOVE it..
I use it with all my clubs, including driver
When I first used it I took it off and was swinging all over the place,,but now it feels great when I take it off.
I am a 2 handicap player looking to chase to scratch,I was pulling the odd drive coming over the top,and off my handicap it made my ambitions impossible
But now I am not pulling my drives and my swing has improved massively, unfortunately it is the end of the season..

  6. I've had mine for about a week now, and straight away it has fixed my dreaded over the top, keeping the elbow in. It won't guarantee you a perfect hit always as you still need to factor in your hips etc on the downswing, but so far after buying literally every training aid there, this is hands down the best purchase I have made. The idea should be to start slow with small to medium swings, build some tempo and then attempt full swings.

  7. What is the difference between this and the Callaway connect (which has been around for years). Price is very different but I am talking about function.

  8. I bought the Trs slider, and I noticed improvement after one range training today! Played nine holes and hit my clubs straight and Long, and I feel my swing in a different Way. More power, control and also simply a better strike … really good training aid.

  9. Michael,
I tend to take the club outside going back and then drop it below plane, stall/stuck, and get flippy. So the opposite of many. Will this help for that too?
