It’s time for a bit of this >> turning music choking on your eyes. >> The iconic walk-on theme for British dart star Nathan Aspenol who last year achieved a run to the quarterfinals where he ran into Luke Litler. H Aspenol is currently world number 15. begins his campaign. He’s playing well, by the way, and begins his campaign against Filipino player Lawrence Lagen H tonight. I’d say two-time semi-finalist joins us now. Nathan, good morning. Only knife. >> Good morning, boys. You okay, lads? >> Yeah, Nath. I’m I don’t know if it’s me, but I was just uh I love the this time of the year. I love the darts, but the punters are really they are loving this. They’re getting them jugs down their throats, and they’re giving it plenty. >> Yeah. You know, sometimes I wish I was a punter, not a player. Like I say, good know I like a good party and a good drink. So sometimes I wish I was on the other side, but uh no, I think so far um it’s been the the biggest and best tournament there’s ever been at Alip Pali and um I think this is only the start. I think coming in um obviously they got me on tonight with Mr. Bright Side and then obviously the second round begins tomorrow. So yeah, it’s warming up nicely. >> Yeah, but what do you make of the format this year? There’s a lot more players, isn’t there, Nate? So obviously uh it’s been going quite a while now, hasn’t it? And this is your first game tonight. So >> precisely. Yeah. >> Yeah. It’s a weird and look there’s been a couple of upset. What do you make of the Kenyon uh winning last night? That was unbelievable performance. And everybody’s going to follow him now because he’s an outsider. >> Yeah, of course. Definitely. And to be fair, that’s my uh little section as well. >> Um I was used to face Mike on paper in the last 32. So I was delighted. Yeah. So, but no, I think um obviously the extended format, I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t a fan of it, the change in it. I think there was enough games anyway, we didn’t need another four or five days. But, um I think obviously it’s proven to to be right. You know, we would never have seen that guy >> if the format wouldn’t have been extended. And there was a few other people from few different countries that no one’s ever heard of. I’ve never heard of them, but they put a good show on. So, I think yet again the PDC made the right decision and we’re getting to see some different faces from different countries. >> I tell you the game I enjoyed uh Nath was uh the Scottish guy against the young kid from Huddersfield, >> the Cammy game. >> Oh, by the way, that that had it all. And God, talk about the crowd getting involved. >> They were loving it, weren’t they? He kept >> punching his, you know, his chest. Big Leach fan, I think, isn’t he? Young kid, 20-year-old or 19. Brilliant. >> Yeah. Yeah. Ch, to be fair, I’ve watched two games all tournament. I’m not really I don’t really watch it if I’m dead honest with you, but that was luckily that was one of the games I watched because I know Charlie and I knew he could um cause an upset and that’s what he did. But yeah, I felt for Came to be fair. He he really does struggle when the crowd against him. He he just can’t handle it and uh obviously we all seen what happened at the end. But now fair play to Charlie and and again it’s it shows the extended format helped you know getting a young lad in like Charlie >> if you’re going to encourage more kids to play. >> Now how’s the form been getting into it? I know you’re so busy you guys now. I mean the exhib ex exhibition stuff you do and obviously you it’s such a big sport now isn’t it around the world. I mean you’d never see people from Philippines playing and and whatever back in the day but it just shows you how big it’s getting and fair place to Barry Hearn. He’s he’s really steps it up isn’t he in the dance world and obviously prize money goes up and everything goes up for you guys. >> Yeah it’s been crazy for me obviously the last three weeks um I made the final in Minad and then I was straight off doing exhibitions. Um, I think I did 14 shows in 16 days. >> Um, I’ve I’ve been in um in Alen Brazil territory. I’ve been I’ve been in Vanessa. I’ve been Edinburgh. I’ve been Abedine. I’ve been Glasgow. Been absolutely everywhere in Scotland. Um, loads in England. Obviously, we had that charity thing on the Thursday in in London. >> Yeah. >> Um, so yeah, it’s been really really busy, but it’s been good. It’s been keeping me practicing, keeping me on my toes. And I feel like this could be the year. I feel really good. I don’t know everyone saves it, but I generally do feel probably the most confident I’ve ever felt going into into the World Championship. >> Yeah. Nath is all about the two looks. You know, who can >> one? It’s your one knife. >> Exactly. Yeah. Obviously on paper and obviously everyone thinks it’s going to be a loot loot final. Uh I’m going to put a stop to that because I’ll play I’ll play Humpus in the last 16 if they get there. So, I don’t think it’s going to happen. What they what the punters reckon it’s a dead Luke and Luke going to play in the final. It ain’t going to happen cuz I’m here to spoil the party. >> Just watch that wasp, mate. There’s a wasp on that stage. I mean, have you got some bug spray with you? Put yourself cuz it can put you off, then it things like that can put you off big time. >> Yeah, I was I was debating taking some on, but I seen that young kid take it on and sprayed himself in the eyes, didn’t he? He couldn’t see for about two legs. So, I’ll probably not, but I I’ll probably put some strong after shave on and hopefully it didn’t stick on me. >> Nathan, we wish you well, mate. You’re playing well enough. And let’s hope, you know, it’s a quarterfinal semi-final. Let’s hope you get there as well. >> And Nath, I’d love to stay for the evening session, but I don’t think I’ll be able to stand up by then, so I won’t miss that one. I’m in the I’m in the afternoon session today. But anyway, good luck tonight, mate. And really hope I’m going to come I’m going to come and see you. >> No, he can’t pace himself, don’t you? with the wrong people to pace myself. That’s a problem. >> Stay off stay off the >> Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Nathan, good luck. >> Good luck, Nate. Nathan there. Brilliant. Nice guy as well. >> Well, that’s that’s a good thing to say. I mean, >> you’ve got Look, what’s the point of going all the way there if you’re not going to stay for the night? >> What? Just >> I’m going for the afternoon session now. >> Well, >> I ain’t got tickets for the night. I can’t get tickets. >> Nathan will get you one. >> Yeah, he will. >> That’s all he need. >> But no, he’s he’s uh he’s really look he’s confident, isn’t he? Uh let’s let’s hope that he can go a long long way in this tournament. I I think he’s playing >> well look you know what guys I know know him very well. >> Listen he can he can handle the atmosphere. >> He can handle the pressure if he’s if he’s if he’s hitting his doubles you know you just want >> that’s what it comes down to at the end of the day >> you know finishing and there’s no nine darts yet. >> Uh not I’ve read of >> it’s a big prize money >> loads 180. Yeah. >> Okay. So then Nathan Arman Mr. Good luck. >> Yeah, good luck.

Nathans great, but he's too pally pally with the Lukes. If he locks in against them, he has a chance at his very best. But he's too nice and doesn't have that clinical, ruthless streak like the Lukes
Rather Luke Luke tbh
😂😂 yeah OK
What s he going to use, his fake dartitus to put players off?
Great
Got paid didnt you
Aspinall loves the smell of Littlers breath
Nice chap, the word Nathan is looking for is 'Pundit' not 'Punter'
Noppert will beat Aspinall in the semi final
Dream on Asp, never gonna happen
