The University of North Carolina’s Carson Bertagnole won a 2026 PGA TOUR exemption by finishing second in the White Sands Bahamas Invitational on Tuesday at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island, The Bahamas.
The Tar Heel freshman from Pinehurst, N.C., parred each of the first two playoff holes to defeat three other college players to secure second place, which earned him an exemption into either the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Classic or ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.
Georgia’s Grayson Wood shot 71-69-68 for 8-under 208 to win the tournament by one stroke. Bertagnole, who won his first college title in the fall at Notre Dame, shot 69-71-69 for 7-under 209.
Bertagnole tied Arizona’s Filip Jakubcik, San Diego State’s Tyler Kowack and Arizona State’s Boston Bracken to set up a 4-for-1 playoff.
Bertagnole and Kowack made pars on the first playoff hole to advance, then Bertagnole made a par on the second extra hole to secure the runner-up finish and claim the PGA TOUR exemption.
