Today we have Ted Scott, Scotty Sheffller’s caddy. Can he improve my score? Not a good sign. Come on, Ted. Come on, Ted. Think he’s feeling a little nervous? Absolutely. Oh, that’s as good as it gets on this hole. Look at this guy reading greens. Remember the guy that said he couldn’t read greens? Remember that guy? Fly the big eagle. Let’s go. Here he goes. Knuckles right there, buddy. That was unbelievable. Up and down. That’s world class, dude. Look at this guy. Who is this guy? Oh my. I mean, who is this guy right here? Hit a couple more and we’re good to go. Want to hit some putts? Yeah, definitely need to hit some putts. Yeah. I thought you didn’t read putts. Oh, I don’t. I was wondering if he wanted to hit some putts. I don’t have a problem with putting. You just don’t read them. No, that’s what I’m saying. I don’t have a problem with it. Well, that’s like the one area that I need you today is probably You know what the most difficult part of math is? Problems. Problems are difficult. Yeah. Yeah. So, there’s gonna be some math problems out there today. But I might need you to solve on. Yeah. Oh, baby. We’re going to play some golf today. That’s money right there. It’s moving though, Tad. Yeah. That’s That’s good. It’s right next to the pin, though. Yeah. Oh, sweet. Oh, we’re ready. Oh, wow. We’re ready. You ready? Ready. Let’s do it. Good to go. We just need it, too. Oh, yeah. Here, I’ll sign that for you. No problem, bud. Thank you. Yeah, no worries. It’s good. There you go. Yeah, I didn’t realize you wanted me to sign stuff. That’s no problem. So, yeah, let’s uh let’s get that today. He baited me so good. I was like, whose glove is that? Cooked him. Welcome to Oakorn. That was good. Thanks. That was good, Ted. Welcome to Oakorn. I’ll get your club, sir. Let me get that for you, sir. Yeah, after that, sir. Let me get that for you, sir. Thank you, sir. Yes, sir. Get the full service. All right, fellas. See y’all. Light bag. Is that light? I could go run with this thing. Okay, we don’t even need a cart. I’ll be the cart. Also, guys, throughout the year, after the major cuts and the five under challenges, my scoring average has ended up to be just around 74. So, I want to see today if Ted can improve that. Ted, I got to let you in on a secret. Okay. Yeah, tell me. Grant has a nickname. He goes by Hammerhands Orvat. Hammer hands. That’s pretty funny. Every once in a while, if one of them goes off Oh. a screw just gets a little loose in his head and he’ll just he’ll just hit a 5 foot or 15 feet past. Okay. So, just be ready for that. We’ll grind that out. We’ll have to grind those out. Here we go. All right, buddy. Well, first of all, I want to know a little bit about what how do you like to receive information? So, I’ve had some bosses that are like, “Don’t tell me where not to hit it. Don’t discuss the bad. Only tell me your target. Give me everything today.” Uh, then I have a new boss that literally you can tell him anything and he’s tough enough to handle it. So, where do you fall in that category? I know who you’re talking about. Okay. Um, I think I think you can tell me anything. Okay. I I think give me all the information. Treat this as if you’re catting for Scotty. Yeah, that’s what I’d like to do. So, first of all, hard dog leg, right? Typically on dog legs, I would say you don’t want to be on the inside of the dog leg. So, if you’re in the right trees, it’s going to be a lot harder hole. Uh, fortunately, in the right trees is not a lot difficulty on this particular one. You can punch it up near the green and with a man of your short game and great hands, uh, make a par. So, that being said, I think our target would be that golf cart. Okay. That’s where we want to end up. We got a left to right breeze. That’s our finish line. Okay. Oh, that’s fine. That’s fine. Well, we cut the dog leg, I’ll tell you. The inside of the dog leg. We’re going to have to hit a punch shot, but you’ll be all right. I see it. Woo! Good cat. He’s always got his eyes on it, you know. A little nervous. Little nervous. Yeah. Yeah. A little nervy. Little nervy. So you you’ve cattied for Bubba Watson and Scotty. Yes. And they’re very different people. They are absolutely very different players. And so you have to tell them different stuff. You know, that’s what makes golf such a great game is you can swing different, play different, think different, and still be great. You know, never practiced, had kind of a wild swing. Never had lessons. Never had a coach. Should just be up here through the trees. Yeah. The hard pan. Perfect. Oh, come on. And then uh you know Scotty obviously has been working hard with Randy Smith since he was seven and just a incredible dedication to the game and Bubba got the number two in the world and Scotty number one. So you know they say there’s many ways to do it. That’s got to be so cool. I mean being a part of that. Pretty crazy. That’s some special stuff. A lot of fun to witness it for sure. All right. 58 is our is our number to the pin. Wow. I can’t believe this worked out so well. Yeah. If 51 to get to the green. So if you come up short it will roll back down. You got some room behind it. So 58 to the pin though. Yeah. The putt the putt behind it is pretty pretty fast. A really one of the fastest putts on the course. Okay. So ideally here you’d be at the pin or a little past and even favoring it a little bit to the right like so I just go right at it and try to get fly Yeah. fly it in there pin high if you can. Okay. 58’s the total. 58 going right at it. Mhm. It’ll be hard. Oh little short. I’ve been there before. short many times. That was a pretty testy first shot. You tight lie, firm down wind, tight green. It’s a little tricky shot. You know, it wasn’t so easy. You landed into the grain here. So, you fly this couple on. I mean, you should have a nice makeable putt. Okay. If you prefer to bump it, you can do that, too. Just however you see it. Yeah. Good shot. Thank you. Really good. Thank you. That’s the place to leave it on this pin. That is the spot to leave it. A marker. The wonderful thing I don’t have a marker. Usually the pro carries that, but that’s fine. Yeah, that’s true. Yeah. You know, the the great thing about like you asked the question, are you are you nervous? Does Scotty get nervous? Growing up as a kid, I thought that was a bad thing, right? But after catting on tour for 26 years, I’ve come to realize it’s a great thing because most of the time the really nervous guy who’s focused, who’s channeling those nerves, plays great on the first hole. You know, it just doesn’t feel normal. So, so we kind of like question it. Yeah. But the more these guys do it, they start to realize it’s here to help you. Right. It’s how God God made us with the fight orflight response and that those nerves feeling for you to get in get in tune with the whole picture. Right. Right. So, I’m excited that you’re excited right now. Come on. Nice. Good start, buddy. There we go. It’s a good save there. That was a catchy little little nasty little 58 yarder you had there. Woo. You talking about nerves right before that putt helped you just helped me so much cuz I was like watch watch this taking right now. I want you to see it’s into the wind so it won’t be too bad. But if you get a little bit aggressive hopefully I missed it. Watch where this goes. Yeah. See how see how fast that is. Yeah. It’s a quick little putt. So at least we kept it below the pin. That’s right. You say you left it in a great a great spot. Yeah. Good job. Nice par. I can kind of get the feel already for this golf course. It’s going to be tricky just seeing that first hole in the grass and little different things I’m picking up on already. It’s going to be a tricky tricky task. There’s some tricky There’s some tricky spots. You you definitely the first two holes will kind of wake you up with the green shapes and for sure these pin locations is like, okay, we’re we’re in it here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. We got downwind dog leg left. Yeah. Again, this one’s much more difficult if you’re on the left side. So, even though you know there’s trees on the right, it’s pretty open over there. So your target here, you can see those two small looks like a crate crepe myrtle tree just right of the pine in the background. Just kick those two little dead ones kind of. Yeah. Just kick a field goal between those two. Feel like the right side’s a little better. Okay. And so that’s how you would say that to Scotty. But if that was Bubba, you would have said that very different. Well, the way I would talk to Scotty would be in the practice round, we would talk about what we’re talking about. So this is a little difficult for you because today it’s like, “Hey, I want to shoot a score, but I’m also trying to share all this information with you.” So what we would do is say, “Hey, I think it’s better on the right side over here.” And I might ask him, “What do you think and he’s like, “Oh yeah, I don’t like it over here.” Actually, it’s not too bad. So, we’re trying to figure it out. So, you are thinking about misses, though. Oh, absolutely. I mean, this is a game of misses, right? If you don’t knock it in the hole, you missed it. Right. Right. So, even when you knock it this close, you still missed it because the goal is what? To knock it in the hole. So, every shot you hit is a miss technically. It’s just how good do you miss it. Right. So, for Scotty, I’m saying, “Oh, let’s try to figure out what’s the best place to be.” And then I hope he agrees with me. If not, we talk through it with and then once we know that, then we’re picking our target based on trying to air to that side, right? And then he knows instinctively like, “Boy, left is bad.” He might give it a little little something. Whereas Bubba is like, “Hey, you know, where do I want to hit it and don’t tell me about the other stuff, you know?” Gotcha. Yeah. Cuz he the more thoughts he had, the worse he got. And Scotty was more like he wants the information and he could decipher. I was a real feel player, so just keep it real simple. Yeah. Oh yeah. That’s beautiful. We’re in it now, boys. Thank you. It’s coming. Yeah. Oh, that’s as good as it gets on this hole. You folks at home don’t even know how good that t-shirt is. Oh, even with the shot tracer. Do you get this excited in a tournament? Oh, yeah. I love good golf. I mean Yeah. I mean, you have to, right? I mean, you have to appreciate knowing how difficult golf is. Yeah. When my 20 handicapped friend hits a great drive, I’m pumped. You know, it’s like, dude, good shot. You know, you were a good golfer yourself, though. I feel like a lot of people don’t know that that you played a lot of great golf yourself. My biggest thing has always been the nerves and stuff like that. I’ve always been fascinated with, you know, how well guys handle that. And I never liked it when I tried to play 25 years ago. And now I realize, hey, it’s a good thing. It is, but I just don’t get to put myself in that situation enough to feel comfortable. You know, I put myself in that situation a lot more than I I want to. I just It’s like, how am I going to do that? You know, playing for $5 against my buddy is like, I’m not that nervous. Five bucks. That’s funny. This video, too, it’s like the idea of this video is can you improve my score? So, there’s a lot riding on it. Yeah, sure. And it it’s one it’s one sample size. That’s right. It is. That’s why I’m like, I can’t let my guy Ted down. Please don’t, man. Make me look good. Please. Scotty’s depending on this. A ball that lands past this flag is going to land down grain. Okay. So, you could get some release. If it barely goes over, it’s fine. You’d be chipping into the wind up the hill. Yeah. Uh, but if you land this 15 short, 15 ft short, it is not going to bounce up. So, you’re just trying to fly this on the pin. There’s more room than what it looks like up there. Yep. And, uh, yeah, just literally attack it. 90 yards on the 91 yards. Yep. 91 yards. Okay. Oh yeah, that’s going to be nice. Wow. Yeah, that’s the grain part I talk about. I thought it was going to fly a little farther. Yeah. Yeah. You’ve flown that about 10 ft farther. You get a little but that grain strong out here. Yep. It was It was so interesting. You said you don’t read. Yeah. So, so the way the I read every single putt of Bubbas for 15 years. Yeah. And the first year and a half, two years for Scotty. I read every single putt. when you started working with Phil basically Phil was asking me about his putting I said the dude is unbelievable at green reading why are you asking somebody who’s not the best in the world unless you can’t see it right sometimes as a golfer even though you could be a great green reader sometimes it’s not very clear and that’s the times that I think he should bring me in if you’re doing it on your own I think you actually learn better like you know what I’m not good at reading Bermuda or I’m really good I will say I’m not a great green reader so I will take I’ll help you if you want yes I would love some but I’m just telling you like typically I don’t my boss I don’t get involved too much. This is the first step at Oakorn. It’s a really easy place to read the grain. If you’ll notice, if I rub on this side of the grass, it doesn’t fall in the hole. So, think of the root as this part of my hand and the tip of the grass. So, now you’re cutting the grass tips. So, it’s like getting a haircut, but when the grass is growing this way and I’m cutting the roots, now it’s dying. So, the reason why this all looks dead is because you’re cutting. So, the grain would be going the going that way. So, you’re putting into the grain. So, we’re going to figure out the slope, but we’re also going to understand that the head of that piece of grass, every time the ball rolls, is tapping that ball, shifting it over here. So, this putt at the end as it slows down is going to really start going over that direction. Right. Right. Good pace. Get up there. Well, you had a great great read. Look at that read. Oh, yeah. I mean, it was coming right in there. Good job. Yeah. Nice. Still feeling the nerves a little bit. Yeah, that’s all right. I’m getting settled in, though. We got a dog leg left. Par five. Uh wind’s just going to be mostly right to left basically here. And you’re trying to just just miss the right edge of the left trees. You can go right over the corner this way. It does go dog. If you go if you end up coming down closer to the base of the trees, you probably hit an oak tree. So, okay. Trying to keep it just right of that. And if you like to turn it, it’s wonderful. If you can draw it, that’d be amazing. You don’t have to try. How do you feel about that logo on the ball? Oh, man. That’s amazing. Okay. Some say it’s uh it’s a little big. I think it’s a little too bold. I’ve gotten roasted by everybody, Ted. So, that’s why. Yeah. No, I like it. Okay, it’s you, man. I can Old Max didn’t like it. Hey, an old guy like myself can read it from here. It’s great. Helps me out. All right. You’re not focused right now. Get back off. Oh, yeah. You’re not focused on anything but jokes, man. This is bad. Come on. Get focused. Here we go. Mhm. That’s fine. He in the fairway. Y. You better get close from there. Maybe get there. Okay. Oh, yeah. Fairway. Yeah. Good shot. Okay. That was good back off there, Ted. That was a really good back off. Yeah, we gota we got to stick to the I wasn’t focused and I want to hit that. Not focused. You’re focused on your logo, man. Yeah. Focused on myself. How was the RDER Cup this year? Was it? That was awesome. Keegan was amazing. I mean, he was such a great captain, you know? I mean, credit to team Europe. They they just puted unbelievable. I mean, for for four sessions, at least in our group against Scotty, I was like, statistically, this is not even possible what they’re doing. It was amazing. And I I feel like the reporters and everybody really hits hard on the overall energy of the team, which is great. I think that’s a great thing. But I will say at the end of the day, Europe just made more putts. And it was plain and simple. Like they got it in the hole quicker. Whether your energy is good or not, like you still got to make it. You still got to make the putt and go through the motions. And they putted like I mean it was I’ve never seen putting like that. Yeah. It was incredible. Statistically, it’s not even possible what they were doing. All right. Got 272 to the pin. This hole here, the back of this green is like about a 10 foot circle. Okay. Your ball’s not gonna stay up there unless you’re on that 10 foot circle where the pin is. Okay. So, I I like to just get it up there. Even if you have to hit a chip or something. Okay. Cuz if you decide, hey, I want to hit a layup here. Yeah. That wedge shot’s going to be nearly impossible because if you So, you’re saying rip a 3-wood? Yeah. And the reason why cuz you you’ve got to you got to have such perfect distance control. If you fly it over the screen, it’s going to go way over with the wedge. And if you fly it 12 feet short, it’s gonna spin back to 50 feet and you’re gonna have a 50footer up a very slow putt to a small shelf. So I like, hey, get it up there anywhere even, you know, and we can chip it up to to that shelf. Okay. Yeah, I think I can get this pretty close. And there’s another pine tree. I don’t know if you can see it. There’s two pine trees in a way. There’s You might not be able to see the second one. So your target here is just trying to go just over the left side of this this pine tree, right? Okay. Yep. Oh, Tad. Come on. Go. Oh, I think we clipped it. Pine tree. I didn’t see it come down, but that’s okay. Where’d it go? Just left of the car path. Is it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, you’re fine. Well, I thought we I know it was good. It’s just that there’s that one extra pine tree down there. You got a little right. If it missed that, I think it would have trundled forward a little bit. You’d have been chipping right up the hill, but it’s still good. I mean, it’s an easier shot from up there. Trust me. Yeah. Everybody doesn’t really like this pin. It’s a tough. It looks like a tough pin just looking at it right now. It’s a dicey pin. If it’s you or Scotty, are you guys taking a 56 degree and bringing it in low or you hitting a 60? I would hit a 60 here just because you’re on such a severe downs slope. That’s going to help you be hit it low, right? And being that you’re in the rough, you probably won’t get a lot of spin. So, the way that I would try to play this, me personally, Scotty’s obviously way better at it, but I would play it try to just fly it in there aggressive and and land it into the slope and hopefully it chases up. And if it doesn’t, okay, I’m putting up the hill to it. Not that bad, right? The this one, the one I was talking about is you land a wedge there and spin it, it goes way back. This one, even if it tumbles up to the base of the slope, it’s not a hard two putt. So, okay. Okay. But yeah, and there’s more room if you’re at Jordan there on the left, there’s more room to stay on the shelf and putt. If you go right, it’s way more. So, just a little left. Yeah, a little left of it. Perfect. You What was the yardage again? 46. Okay. Oh, yeah. That’s going to be good. Land it right into the green. Chase up there. Go, go, go. Stick. Hit it. Win. Run. Work it. I think it’s good. Better sprint up. Oh no. Is it gonna stay? That was like a a knuckle flyer I hit there. That’s great. And like I said, it just chased up. It ended your ball ended up in a good spot to hit a good chip. We’re fine. I was worried about going long. That was Yeah. You see what I’m saying? How the wedge shot is You’ll see. It’s like, wow, that’s really hard. I mean, even if I was catty for Scotty, it’s like that’s a hard wet shot. You know, that’s one thing I noticed too with him was his distance control. The way he’s like keeps everything in the right areas is so impressive controlling his spin. I think he’s the best I’ve He is so good at that I’ve ever seen him personally. It makes it a lot of fun to caddyy for it’s like catting for a robot, you know? Yeah. Go. Oh, slow steep slope and green. Good putt though. All right. This is the most I’ve really thought through golf shots. Yes. Like truly, I I think there’s a missing link in my brain when it comes to thinking through golf shots. Dude, I’m excited to get some Cajun food. I tried a little bit of it earlier. I want to try the shrimp. How’d you like the gumbo? The gumbo was awesome. Isn’t it amazing? Gumbo is my favorite dish ever incredible. That’s my first time having a dish like that. It was great. Have you ever had crawfish? I’ve never had crawfish. That’s what I I texted you about. They’re out of season. They are. In a couple more weeks, they’ll be they’ll start harvesting them. So, do you do the big crawfish boils like corn? Yeah, they have a lot of that here. Yeah. Backyard get together, kids running around, you know. It’s It’s a lot of fun. Yeah. And then if you have any cuts on your fingers, you find them very quickly because the spices are like crazy. 88. Yeah, 88. So this one here, it’s on again on a back shelf. Um trouble spots would be if you end up over the left bunker pin high. You’re fine if you’re over the bunker, short of pin high, but if you get over the bunker pin high, it really the chip gets difficult. Probably wouldn’t reach the one on the right. So I would take pretty much dead aim at it. Dead aim. Okay. Yeah, maybe just a few feet. Just a little downwind. Yeah, a little bit downwind behind us. Okay, so perfect seven. Yeah, good swing. Oh, come left. I should actually be short. Not really turning it. That’s fine though. Putting up the hill. So, I look at a hole like this. You know, obviously you’re a great golfer. Yeah. But even at your level, you know, I look at this as this is a par. I mean, if you make a three on this hole, you’re not losing. You’re actually picking up on the field, right? So, on a hole like this, people get upset with a shot like that. I’m like, dude, that’s great. Because all you want to do is putt, get on there, hopefully hit two putts and move on and you’re picking up strokes on the field. So playing to recognize the difficulty of a hole that you’re playing. Perspective, too. Yeah. Because we see like, oh, Scotty made a birdie or whatever, you know? So we think, oh, I should make a birdie or remember last time I played here, I made a birdie. Mhm. That doesn’t mean that you should do it every time, right? 190 yards. If you put me on the center of the green anyway, I’ll take it every single time. Yeah. And that’s why I did like the club selection. You know, I don’t know how far you hit it yet, but it didn’t feel like enough club, but it felt like enough to get on the green, and it felt like six could be trouble, right? Six. I felt if you pulled a seven, it wasn’t going to be a problem, right? But I felt if you pulled a six, we could be in big trouble here, but now we’re behind the eightball. It’s like, okay, for sure. What does What does Scotty’s seven iron go? 184. You just It’s 184. Mhm. Yeah. That’s like That’s just That’s just the number it goes. Yeah. He dials it into that number. I mean, he’ll go on the range yet. He can hit it. Yeah, exactly. He can hit it on the range within two yards, you know, plus or minus every swing. But that’s his number, you know, like on a normalized Trackman, man. He’ll hit it and he’ll bet with Randy 20 bucks and he’ll say like, “All right, plus or minus two yards.” And Ry’s like, “I’m not doing this game anymore.” Cuz he gets his butt kicked. Oh, wait. We might have to chip it on the green. Well, I just I’m fine with putting it through the fringe with my with my nerves. Yeah. I would hate to take that with your hands. Yeah. Well, I’d hate to take a divot out of your beautiful greens here. Yeah. All right. So, here’s the deal. Uh we’re going to putt through the fringe here and this putt is going to go sideways when it gets up to up up here. Yeah. So literally you’re going to try to get it up here and it’s going to swing off of that. Wow. Yep. So we’re like way up. We’re like almost hugging the grain the grain is fighting it. So it’s going to swing off that and then it’ll start slowing down. But you’re going to try to putt it. I’d say probably right in here. Okay. Perfect. Yeah. Here’s how here’s how I’d caddy for Scotty. Okay. Cuz this now this is a hard putt. I didn’t realize it got so far to the right. I thought you were a little shorter. Yeah, it’s pretty hard putt now. So, this is how I would try to help you have an easier way to hit a good putt. Right. We don’t have to hit this to a foot. Yeah. We just want something that’s up on that shelf for the next putt to make. And you’re a good putter. So, it’s like, hey, if I get it up there five or six feet, I can make the next one, right? But if I’m trying to hit this one two feet, I might hit a really horrible putt because it feels like impossible. So, we’re just trying to get it in a general surface. Yeah. I mean, obviously I would like it to be two feet, but like give yourself some grace to go, “Yeah, dude, it’s I’m putting through fringe. The speeds are changing.” Anything that gets up on that shelf. Yeah, I can make the next one. Okay, make sense? Yeah, that feels good. Look at this guy. That’s great. Oh, that’s great. I mean, that’s a hard That’s what you wanted. Yeah. Beautiful. I It went through that fringe a lot and it really killed it. Went through faster than I thought it was going to go. That’s great. from back there. It’s like, hey, that’s a really difficult putt now. We can hit a good one here and get out of here with a three. Scotty and I do not have much in common, but one thing we have in common is maybe the only thing is we putt traditional from long distance and I go to claw from short. Well, you’re both tall, great looking, you both have an amazing caddy. So, other than that, great putt, dude. That was such a good putt. Yeah, that one felt that one felt really nice. Came off awesome. Yeah, just ended up in a t spot off the tea. That’s tough though. That’s on me, pro that was uh I’m happy with that second putt. That’s That was a great second putt. I thought that one had a chance for sure. Pretty long one. Yeah, it could be long, but it’s I mean, you probably the most you’d have is about 170, I would think, into a good T- shot. Yep. Good shot. Thank you. That’s good. Carry it all. Go, baby. Go. Now you’re good. You’ll be just in the edge of the fairway there. Thank you. Out of all the golf shots you’ve witnessed in your career being on Bubba and Scotty’s bag, what’s one golf shot sticks out? Cuz immediately I think one. Yeah. Everybody thinks of the hook shot, right? From Bubba. But the greatest shot at Bristol happened to be on Friday, that same Masters. Uh Bubba was in the right trees on 11. It was in the pine straw. It looked like a bird created it, dropped its egg in there. And I’m thinking, okay, we’re 300 for the tournament. We’re in good shape. Let’s just punch it out, knock it on the green, have a chance to make a par. And he says, “What do you think about hooking it?” And I’m looking at this lie, thinking, “What are you talking about? You have no chance you can spin this ball out of this lie. It’s just not good.” Right. And the man said, “No, I’m serious. Like about hooking it.” I was like, “How are you going to hook it?” And he said, “Back up. You know, I’m known for hooking it.” And I literally thought, “We’re making a triple cuz he’s aiming left of the pond.” Yeah. And he’s going to hit the worst shot I’ve ever seen here. We’re going to make a triple cuz we have to take a drop. and playing out the whole scenario and he had a low duck hook 9 iron that overhooked caught the slope ran him to the front of the green and two putter and I was just going that’s the greatest shot I’ve ever seen in my life and there’s no way you can do that again like it was like no you can’t do that that’s not possible I still to this day don’t believe it’s possible you know yeah Bubba’s Bubba does some things with a golf ball that what happens if you guys like you’re out on the course and you disagree like what’s what’s that like because I mean that had to be different between the two players If you if you want to do one thing and they want to do the other, do you usually let them make the final call? Of course. I mean, you’re a consultant, but I think at the end of the day, um you know, you’re just trying to present your argument, and the two of you, if you’re wise, will look at both sides and go, “This one seems like a better play, right?” Um sometimes you’re on the same team. Yeah. But sometimes these guys get really confident, overconfident. You’re like, “This is a bad decision.” And other times they might get really nervous and they don’t want to hit the right shot. You know, it’s like, “Oh, I’d rather do this.” It’s like, “Come on, buddy. You can do You know, I remember Scotty asked me uh on we were we were on 13 at Augusta and he was leading and he hit it kind of on the side slope and he goes, “What do you think?” And I said, “You’re the best iron player in the world. Knock it right in the middle of the green.” And he was like, “Oh, yeah.” Like, you know, the fact that he asked me, I knew he was probably nervous cuz he was thinking about laying it up when nobody hits his irons better than him. He was like, I remember you saying that. And he remembered who he was for he forgot who he was. I reminded him and he was like, “Oh, yeah.” And he knocked it right in the middle of the green and two putted for a bird. So you’re like, Scotty Shuffler. Yeah. So, it’s like sometimes you have to help them with that, but ultimately, you know, it’s their call and they’re the expert. You know, you’re just there to really try to bring out the best in them. Right. Right. That’s what I’m trying to do to you today, buddy. You are. You’re doing great. I’m nervous right now. My gosh. 128. Man, you’re smashing this driver today. I’m telling you. I’m telling you. 170. You got 128, kid. Okay. All right. So, uh there’s plenty of room behind this one. Um if you’re short, this ball will spin back into a nasty little grainy chip. Not trying to scare you. So, it’s probably playing pretty long though with this wind. Yeah. 128. It’s I mean I think if you if you hit a 40 shot Yeah. that would get you to the pin right with that gust you’re feeling right now. Yeah. Oh yeah. That divot just went into my face. Yeah. Good shot. Really? Now we’re playing. We’re back. Mortimer. Come on. Here we go. Come on. True story, guys. last night trying to get here. We were waiting to get on the plane. We get on the plane, we deboard. Mechanical issue. Two hours later, we reboard. Same thing with the next plane. And so I slept on the ground at the airport last night for about 45 minutes. And I’ll tell you what, it my body feels funky. Like you can feel it in your hands right now. It’s a good excuse to have in case anything, you know. Yeah. I don’t want it to be me. Don’t let me be the excuse, okay? It’s definitely him. Definitely him. There’s usually a gator in this pond right here, boys. There’s a gator. There usually is. It was about a sevenfooter yesterday or Tuesday. I mean, it’s got to go right to left. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It’s pretty strong this way in from the right. Yeah. Can see that. Look. Looks like it wants to snap. Yeah. I got to start right in that area. That’s exactly right. Yep. Birdie time. Come on, Ted. Let’s go, baby. Come on, Ted. And hey, that’s pretty cool that we found a birdie, but y’all come over here. I’m gonna show you the gator. I found him. Okay. What’s cooler than a birdie is a gator. Look. See the the stick comes out. There he is. See him in the background. Yeah. Pretty cool. Oh, look at that big one right there. Watch you. I’m just messing with you. You’re okay. Yeah, I’m good. Just kidding. I get your get your working a little bit, dude. Just when I was getting settled into the round, my heart spikes again. Nice birdie, kid. Come on. Let’s go. You were speaking that one right before, too. I like that. Like, let’s say you’re playing with your friends and you’re like, get this out of the hole. you how many times do you make it when you you know and that’s what I think that’s more about the picture like when you tell yourself I’m about to hit this right you’re really just kind of getting into the picture and a lot of times we step over a ball and we’re just like I’m hitting a putt over this way when you have that concept of like I’m doing this I feel like it just connects you better and your brain works it out works out the detail or I mean even when you get up there and you’re kind of non nonchalant very casual and you’re just reacting to the target that’s right I feel like you get in that groove absolutely I mean that’s what golf’s about right it’s like any other sport, you look at the difference in golf is we look at the ball and the target’s over here. Whereas most sports we’re shooting a basketball, throwing, you know, a baseball, throwing a football, catching a football, we’re always looking at the target. In golf, we’re actually not looking at the target. So, it makes it difficult. You know what I mean? It’s all mental, too. It is. Um, the right trees, you will be dead as a doornob. If you could hit it a billion miles left here and you’re fine. Okay. So, ideally, so the miss is left here. So, give yourself some room. Ide like the perfect spot would be just right of the guy sitting up there alone. M just barely right at him that in that in the in the grass middle of that grass bunger that’s center cut. Okay. But anything left, you still have an angle. So perfect. Down off your left here. I feel that little baby fade. Yeah, that’s fine. You’ll be in the left rough, but it’s okay over there. It’s kind of right. That was if I knew if I pulled it. Yeah, you’re good. I mean, honestly, like that side, you’ll see when you get over there, you’ll be like, “Okay, you can run it up to the You got a straight shoot up to the green.” Yeah. I would have never talked to Scotty that way on the hole like this because he likes to attack his target. I think that’s what makes him better. Whereas maybe you and I can’t quite hit it. No, definitely not me, but maybe you can, but I definitely can’t hit my target like he can. So, I have to think when I play golf, protect a little bit from going right because I can make a birdie from the left side. Yeah. But if I don’t protect from that, no, I need to. I might make a bogey. And I don’t want to make a bogey. I I want to make have a chance for a birdie. The danger here would be to go, you know, more than 5 yards past the pin. Okay. Okay. I would try to I would try to land this a couple short and and slightly left the pin to get 86 hole. So like an 80 shot. Yeah, that would be great. 80 shot would be great. Oh, that’s going to be fine. You You’ll be like 20 ft up the hill. I was worried that was going to jump. Yeah. And it just it kind of came out a little dead. So we got obviously a really slow putt. steep slope into the grain the whole way. As it gets up here, the grain should be going left to right in. So, it’s going to be swinging to the right at the end. Yeah. Yeah. You see the grain’s going strong that way. Focus on the speed again. Just get comfortable with that. Yep. I like it. Good speed. How good was that, kid? That was pretty good. You did miss my line. He would have made that, just in case wondering. He pushed that. Totally pushed that cup. That’s on him. No, I did. I did push that off your line right off the rip. We have a saying in the business of catting is that we made six birdies and then he made a double. So, yeah, that’s definitely your fault. So, you can you shoot a lot of flawless rounds, I tell you. I haven’t messed up in a while. Yeah. Nice. Great putt. Thank you. All right, part five. Here we go. Oh, no. All right. be in the I got it. Okay, that won’t hurt you too bad. Little right. Par five. You can you can make a bad swing on a par five and you get to make your next swing good to get a wedge shot at it. So, you’ve done a lot of your Sunday sermons which are amazing on social media. Those are so cool. Yeah, you and Scotty just showing your faith on camera. It’s so amazing. You know, you’re you’re you’re on this run right now, but at the same time, you’re always giving all the glory to God. Even at the Ryder Cup, you did one. Yes. Wow. Yeah. But tell me just a little bit about that because you’ve been doing those for a while. I got on social media back in the day whenever, you know, phones came out and all that Twitter and everything. And didn’t take long to realize how many haters there were and how many people just say ugly, nasty things. Maybe something they would never say in person. Yeah. And I didn’t like that. And I thought, I’m just going to get off of this stuff because there’s a lot of negativity. But then I thought, you know what? What if I was different? What if I just said something positive? So, I try to ask people questions and learn as often as I can. And because of that, I’ve had a lot of really wise people that taught me a lot of neat things. Yeah. So, I thought, well, maybe I’ll just pay that forward, you know, and share some of the things that I’ve learned and that people have taught me. And it just happened to be on a Sunday and I was like, oh, Sunday sermon, you know, I didn’t know why I said Sunday sermon. And then people commented, “That was awesome. Do another one.” I was like, “Okay, whatever.” You know, and my goal is to just share that with as many people as I can. One of the reasons why I coach golf is because I love to be around the best in the world and then say the best in the world tell me to do this. Yeah. Everything I’m telling you today, I didn’t know anything. I didn’t even have a yardage book the very first day I cattied, you know? So, it’s embarrassing, but it’s like I showed up to Caddy and my pros like, “What’s it say in the yardage book?” I was like, “Yard book? What’s that?” You know? So, uh, so yeah, you know, you learn from these things. And the cool thing about, you know, being a Christian is it just happened to work out where the Bible has so many wonderful things to say and so much wisdom. And uh, you know, even one of the scriptures that you’re doing a great job of is Bible talks about, you know, be a light unto the world. And you don’t take a lamp and put it on a on a table and cover it with a basket. It says, “Let it be a light into the world.” Put it on top of a mountain so it can shine. And, you know, that’s something that you’re doing a great job with. And it’s like, you know, I I need that in my life. I need people like you that inspire me. I need great men and great women in my life. And so if I could hopefully share what they’re sharing with me with the world and make somebody’s day better, it’s awesome. 100%. Yeah. And the people just like even like Saquon Barkley talking about it out of nowhere. It it was such a cool moment. People still still ask me about that. So um but yeah, thank you just for doing that. It’s been amazing to watch. Well, here’s the deal. If you punch it out here, we’re not going to make a birdie this pin. We’re going to play really conservative. Yeah. But if you can hit something aggressive that way and get it way down there like hit like a low aggressive something like a sixiron five. No, like I’m talking about send it four. Yeah. Like way we’re 250. I’m thought I’m thinking 250. Yeah. I’m thinking 3-wood. Anything over there you can actually make a birdie. I’m saying we’ll deal with the consequences of it after that. Right. This is This could be on me. But going left here and you’re just going to not have a chance for a birdie. You’re going to have to play really smart and hard. We’re going as hard as we can at that tree. Try try and get it past it. I got to keep it a little low off the start. Keep it low and then let it from there. Good. Yeah, I like it. Yeah, we’re going to see if I like it. Probably sty. There’s a lot of But it’s worth the risk. A lot of things that could happen. It’s worth the risk. I’m telling you. I like it. I like it. Pro. 64 yards here. Let’s just try to get it on that shelf and have a putt at it. Now, what club do you think? I have like a seven iron right now. I think seven’s good. The thing about the seven is you’re going to try to fly it just over the cart path. Yeah. Yeah. Mhm. What What What club do you think? I mean, Scotty would probably hit something probably more like a nine iron and try to fly it higher up on the hill. The risk of that though is if you miss the hill, seven iron could be safer. Let’s go eight. Yeah, let’s let’s meet in the middle there. Uhoh. Uhoh. Too hard. That’s the scary part about it. Yeah. Yeah. That was uh the seven was better. Now, now we got a battle. I like it. We had one job to hit the hill. Yeah, we did. Just hit the hill. Whatever you do, hit the hill. That’s right. Oh, man. Here’s our deal now. Okay. Our deal now is we got one goal to get this on that shelf. Right. Okay. And I’m going to tell you, it’s not by going at the pin. Okay. You got to go to the right of this pin because if not So, we’re just trying to give oursel a look. Yes. If you land this online with the pin, you’re not going to get green. So, you want to go to the right. See how it kind of goes back up? Yeah. and just try to get it over there. So, we’re aiming right at the pin, not even going forward the pin. Yeah. And be aggressive because look, we’re out of position again. We might make a bogey. We might not. But we got a we got an opportunity if we go a little right of this and get a little past it. Do we go pretty standard here or are we trying to go high? No, I I would try to go high. Okay. Just a little right of it. Good. That’s really good, dude. Great shot. Thank you. Yeah, that’s money. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That was sweet. Yeah, that one came up to pin high. Yeah, to me I’d say about a cup and a half on this one. Cup and a half. Perfect. Let’s let it fall in there. See if we can make one. Pretty level. Yep. That’s world class up and down, pro. Come on, Ted. That’s world class, dude. Knuckles right there, buddy. That was unbelievable up and down. Like, that’s a one out of 20 maybe. That’s unbelievable how good that is, guys. That’s not even two putt from over there on the friend. So fast. Nice work. Potentially if you hit it really good, you cover the bunker, but not likely. And I would say you don’t reach the trees if you’re left of this little basket. Okay. So I would split the edge of the bunker in that little basket thing. Yeah, there’s one tree and distinct tree that I can see. I see it pretty straight right between those two. Okay. Yeah, I think I think you might have covered it. Man, I hit that. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, perfect. Oh, nice, kid. Woo. Oh, we’re coming now. Got lucky, man. That’s one of the toughest T-shots on the course. That was You see on the internet and the noise and everything, there’s a lot of comparisons to Tiger 2000 and how his game was compared to to Scotty. What is your take on that from what you’ve seen with your own two eyes? I mean, you’ve watched you’re watching greatness. Yeah, I think uh you know, Tiger was uh very dominant with his distance and very precise with his irons. You know, I think Scotty’s iron game is very comparable. Doesn’t hit it as far past people like Tiger did back then. I mean, think about 97 Tiger Woods winning the Masters. He’s hitting pitching wedge in the par fives and you’re like, what’s going on? Yeah. Um, and then you see the emotion out of Tiger, you know, he’s a very fist pumping kind of guy and exciting and electric and Scotty’s more quiet and to himself. So, uh, so you know, on paper, people don’t think like maybe what Scotty’s doing is is as impressive, but to me, I mean, he just he’s almost like a longer Jim Furick who’s very kind of like down the middle on the green, but he’s also the precision iron game that Tiger had. So, it’s nasty. It’s a nasty combination, you know. You ask every player, all the tour players I’ve played with personally, they say Scotty has figured out how to control his spin. Like, that is the one phrase they use. better than anybody to walk to play the game of golf. Like that’s what they say every single time. Well, here you are at Oak. He told me anytime I want he’s going to come over here and whoop me with seven clubs and I haven’t invited him yet. So, that tells you how good he is at film that for your uh your YouTube channel. I want to film that beat down. All right. 134. Wow. This is actually a tough hole. I’m happy. Yeah. So, we had 28. This is this is a cool thing about catting and you you guys at home so your your viewers can learn this. So, as a caddy, we’re writing down yardages, what club we hit, how far it was playing, how far we played the shot, and then how far it flew. Yeah. So, we played a 140 shot, it was 128, and we ended up about five short. So, our 140 shot flew 123. So, we play a 147, we’re going to get 128, we’re still eight yards short of this one, right? So, you So, you learn from your experience like, hey, my ball into the wind today is flying this. And this is uphill a little bit. So, it’s probably 150. I think this is an I have an eight. Perfect. Yeah. So, I like the same swing you made but with an eight. Great. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Good swing. Oh, yeah. Come on. Nice. I think that’s nice, man. That went right through the wind. That was the strike I needed right there. There we go. The other thing that’s interesting about about golf and wind, that one pierced through it. Well, I was going to say you the wind actually laid down a little bit when you hit it. Yeah. Wow. So, you have to keep like you might write I might write down, okay, it’s into the wind, you know, and he’s hitting an eight iron, but then when you hit it, the wind laid down. I might discard that one. So, yeah, it wasn’t. And the strike was a little different. I came in shallower. It pierced through the wind a little more. Exactly. All right. So, this putt will be breaking left obviously up this slope. The grain is with you. So, this one’s going to be a little faster than they have been. This feels like I got to be out there pretty far. Yeah. So, I got this I got it kind of going like like that right there. And it should go between this between that cup and this cup. Kind of rolling right through here like this and then going around that way. Right. I love that. And it’s going to pick up a little speed down there, right? Yeah. You got downwind a down grain. It’s a pretty flat putt, but the grains with you. So, this one should roll out a little better than they have been. Okay. Close. Ooh. Had a little work left. Yep. Nice. Nice catch. Thank you, hole. Emphasis on the little. Thank you, hole. It barely broke. All it needed was a little. I’ll tell you what, job. In the past, my speed was so firm that the the hole would have never caught that. Never caught that. That’s what Never. So, that’s what he was telling me. That was a big improvement. Guy was telling me that. He was like He said, “You have a nickname something like HH.” Yeah. You got 42 to cover any of the water. Okay. 52. Yeah. Yeah, I got a I’m feeling I’ll tell you where dead is dead than a doororknob is past this pin on the left. If you end up in that left bunker, okay, you’re in big trouble, mister. So, it is not big trouble as in like you can’t make a a bogey, but you’re going to have to make a 40footer for a par. Right. Right. Um and so this is how I look at this hole. Like as a as a caddy, it’s like it’s a this water is just there to scare you. Yep. There’s tons of room. Yep. On this shot, this is really more about distance control. It’s a very wide target if you’re hitting at 152, right? So, just get dialed in on what you like for the two. This is a punchy seven. Perfect. Yeah. I can feel the wind into us a little bit. Perfect. Yeah. I like a little seven iron here. Nice. Oh, what a swing. Got to get down though. Sit. Please do that. So good. Sit. Oh my god. Stay on the green. Where is that? Just this long. That’s going to be a really fun putt. I can’t wait to see you hit this putt. I’m so excited right now. This is going to be fun. We’re gonna test your speed. I mean, that felt like my best swing of the day. I’ll be honest. I don’t know if you’re putting it either. Is there green deep deep? There’s There’s a He’s fortunate that that kick to the right. If that didn’t kick to the right, it was going to be nearly impossible. But now it’s like impossible. Hey, honesty is great, though. I was definitely dialed in in my brain on that yard. Maybe a little adrenaline. How do you guys deal with when Scotty’s amped up on in the moment? Does he take a club more if there’s adrenaline pumping? Yeah. I mean, I think you you know, you recognize like, hey, you’re pumped up right now. And sometimes if these guys want to hit something hard when they’re nervous. Yeah. Well, here I’m I’m going to walk you through it. So, I like chipping. I do love chipping. If I drop a ball right here, it’s going to get to the hole. Okay. And look, if you if you chip if you chip it and it gets a little speed, you’re just going to have a 15 footer up the hill. So, you would you putt this though? I’m trying to figure out how I can get it the closest to make my next putt. And I would say, do I like the lie? I would probably I would probably chip this one. Yeah, you would. I’m saying I would probably chip it. Okay. You’re far enough you’re far enough left where you got some You got a chance to slow it down. I I’ve hit it over here before, right? But you would be trying to get it up there. So, I’m trying to land this though, cuz I want this to trickle straight down the hill. I’m trying to land it right up in here. Well, I don’t know if you want to land it there cuz that’s going to shoot it. You’re trying to get it to slow down into here. If you land it here, it could go pretty fast. Okay. Okay. So, that’s your your goal is to get it dying in that area. Okay. Wow. Watch where this goes, though. Just any speed. Watch. It’s just impossible. I told you. They’re both still moving. Oh, yeah. It’s going way down the hill. What a hole, man. What a hole that is. Like I said, anything long and I’ll tell you what, it’s actually really hard cuz the water creeps in here. Yeah. It’s a This is one of the harder ones on the course. We’re going to make this putt cuz my man he rolls it so well. Could this come back to my feet? No. Okay. Well, it depends how soft you hit. It almost looks like it. Yeah. It’s It’s pretty straight. There’s not a lot. That’s right. I would say if anything, it could go a little left, but not much. Yeah. Like right edge. Yeah. Just Just put your feel on the speed and get it up there for a good look. Ah, good putt. Good putt. Stayed out there just a little bit. Great speed, though. So, the fun thing is whenever the pins in the net front, you hit it up here. Now, you have this putt to try to stop it down there. So, you have this. You know what? You could spin it back towards the pin. Yeah. Yeah. But with a seven iron, you probably can’t see that those are the ones that sting there cuz that’s like that felt like even the chip. I felt like I hit my line. Perfect. And wow. What did I say? What What did I tell y’all? What’s our cart number? 37. What did I say? We’re going to shoot on the back. 31. Thank you. Somebody was paying attention. I was. I said we’re going to shoot our cart number on the front and then the back. Now we shoot. Okay. Come on. You knew we were going to be a little nervous. I thought so. A little Nostradamus action. This is a little bit like the par five. I love a driver when the pins on the front here because no matter where I hit it, I can punch it up near the front of the green and make an easy par. You can hit a seven. You can hit a 650 and hit a lob wedge. So you don’t like a driver off this hole? No, I’m saying I like driver because it’s like hit a good drive, you got a 20 yard chip, right? Okay, I see what you’re saying. I like the driver. I’m just making sure you like the driver. I love the driver. Okay, perfect. Today it’s working. They left cart path. Cart path. There we go. Get out of that tree. Oh, yeah. There we go. Oh, fairway. Friendly. That’s a fairway, T. See, you see what I’m saying? Like even if we hit it over here, like you can just kind of punch it up to the front. Wow. Tight little shot, but I could have drove the green here. Yeah. Oh, definitely. Mhm. All right. We got a predicament here. So this is this is the kind of shot that Scotty would bump, you know, just because you can kind of be aggressive. I’m a little bit worried about your bumpy skills after we miss that giant hill on seven. I’m not a big bumpy guy. So let’s just try to get it on that shelf and have a roll at it. Do you think we carry it to the to the pen? Yeah. I mean, if you’re landing into the green, you know, carry the flag, you’ll have a 12footer. 40 yards. 40 yards to the flag. Probably 36 to the green. Hey, we bumped it. Thought you said you didn’t bump it. Look how good that was. Did you just planned? I mean, I was going for the low one. Changed his mind last second. Yeah, like on the down swing. Why are you questioning the greatness? Don’t change his mind. Rule number one of Fight Club, don’t question greatness. I felt the downs slope, Ted. I was like, I got to go with the bump. You know, I was like, okay, it was very thin. I was expecting you to hit this like high little floaty. Yeah. No, no, no. For a second, I thought you shanked it. I was like, “What just happened?” One of my very good friends always says, “Don’t get mad at it until it stops rolling.” It’s a great It’s a great line. I actually love that. Like, hey, don’t get mad at it. Don’t get mad at it until it stops rolling. You never know. Yeah. You never do. Can’t get mad at that one. It’s right. You’d have walked up from the from the tea box and put that right there for a birdie look at. Come on, Ted. I will say I’m not great at reading greens. So far, I think you’ve been very good at it. Well, you’ve given me some great reads. I mean, the only thing here, this, remember, the grain is the real strong one here because you’re anytime you’re on a decent slope, the grain’s a big indicator here. Yeah. So, I come over here, stare at the cup. Yeah. And just try to find like where is it? Prevailing grain is like just on this side of your ball. So, that’s going So, we’re going going into the grain. You’re into the grain. Straight into it. Yeah. But break-wise, it doesn’t seem like there’s much. Perfect. So, knock it in there. You got it. Feel like it’s very, very straight. It stayed right there. Where’d that start? I think I started it right. You started it right edge. Yeah. Yeah. It was tricky. It went just to the right. Right. Yep. Yeah. So, that’s the grain pushing that. I think the slope was good. Mhm. All right. Let me help you with your green reading. Yeah. I’m going to give you a tip. Ted’s tips. Yeah. Cuz I I’ll be honest. I I do struggle with reading greens. I think I I’m now realizing that cuz that was I tried to play that straight. So, I so far haven’t seen you struggle with reading greens. The first week I ever worked for Scotty, ironically, it was during RSM, the week we’re filming this, he said to me, “I’m not a very good ball striker.” Really? What? And so, I haven’t seen you have a horrible read yet. Yeah. Remember, reading greens is speculation. Nobody’s good at it in the sense like, “Oh, this is right edge every time.” Yeah. Because you don’t know. It’s very much a speculative thing. It’s you’re just trying to speculate on Yeah. It’s a guess. Educated guess. Yeah. And so you got to be more confident in your educated guess. You you made a great read on that. The only thing you didn’t think about cuz I tried to help you. I said the grain’s going just on this side of your ball. So that’s going to push the ball barely to the right. Yeah. So you should have kind of just favored. You had a perfect read on the slope. It’s like, oh, the grain’s going to push it a little bit that way. But you learned from that because you read it and now I’m telling it to you. You’re going to get better. But don’t say I’m not good at at reading greens cuz I disagree with that. So far I haven’t seen that. Okay. You know what I mean? Yeah. I just I think I doubt the initial read and that’s correct. And that’s that’s the problem. It’s not it’s not that you’re not good at it. It’s that I think you’re like you don’t like not knowing. So now you’re like, “Help me.” But nobody knows. Literally, there’s not a single person that putts and goes, “Oh, this is right edge.” Yeah. Yeah. Here we go, baby. I’m so excited about this hole. Oh man. Is it par five? Part five. Is it actually? It is. Let’s get after one and two. It’s going to be amazing. You’re going to hit this so good. It’s going to catch the slope. Go way down there. You’re going to have a nine iron into this green. We’re going to knock it in there. 12 feet left of it and we’re going to drain it. That’s how it’s going to go. The big bird. We want the big bird. Yeah. Oh, no. All right. Little late. Yeah, a little late on the hit. Okay. All right. It’s fine. Well, I wanted it so bad. Sometimes you want it too bad, you know. I know. I put the pressure on you to do it. This is one of those ones where the target’s plenty wide. It’s more about just, you know, hitting at the right distance. So, I have a seven. Yeah. Try to get dialed in. I mean, that’s a full seven. Or do I go with the six here and cut it? Well, I guess that’s, you know, your feel for it. I mean, off of this is 84 to carry. It’s 86 to carry. Yeah. Oh, okay. I think I have to go with the six. I I would say based on the way you hit the the one on nine, the seven iron. This is probably the right club. Yeah, I would say we have to go with the six. But look, big target out there. I mean, see see those two dead trees in the background? Yes. Just trying to go right kind of splitting those. Okay. So just kind of left of the pin there. Mhm. Just stiff it. Oh yeah. The right club today. That was it. Yes sir. We got a good looking eagle chance. Good swing, buddy. We got claps from the Hey, come on. I’m happy we hit the six. That’s still almost Yeah. to the carry. Never a bad thing to be in a cart using this. That’s the best after 194. Yeah. Water, right? Yeah. I mean, they need to get a shot of that shot. You know what I’m saying? That was a good one. I did not mean to take the water on that close. You really didn’t. I mean, if you think about it, you’re 12 ft right of where you’re aiming. It’s just a tight shot. Not like you hit it that bad. I mean, you get up here, though. I just wouldn’t want to redo that. That’s right. But I don’t have to. That’s the greatest. Focus on the target. It’s great. Wow. So, just remember grain if it’s if the grain’s left to right, it’s not affecting it as much as if you’re into. Because the into is the tip of the blade is hitting the ball, right? left to right, it’s it’s going to kind of indicate slope more than it’s going to actually affect it. Okay? Cuz now you’re just rolling over the blades. You’re not rolling over the tip, right? Grain is affecting you more when you’re into it. So you don’t see a ton of break on this putt. Not really. Hello, it’s me. Did you just go back to fly the big eagle? Let’s go. Here we go. Hey, 31. Here we come. Go back to that T- box. What did you say? It wasn’t a nine iron. It wasn’t a nine iron. It was upside down nine. It was I didn’t see it right. It was a sixiron. I was close. I did say 12 feet. You You hit about 14. Come on, Ted. Let’s go, kid. That’s the big bird. I had a big bird on camera in forever. It’s been a while, dude. That was nice. Yeah, for a guy who can’t read a guy who can’t read putts, you read quite well. That was a That was a good one. That had some speed. That did. That was authority. That bang the back of the cop. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It’s been a while since we’ve had a big bird on the channel. And it’s crazy because you talked about that on the T- box. You said we’re going to hit a drive. We’re gonna hit a nine iron 12 feet up the hill and we’re gonna make the putt. Program your mind. You know that’s it, right? 226 plus another probably 20. So you want to hit I would say between 230 and 260. Oh, off the tea. Okay. Yeah. Driver. It brings in the water to the right. So I think into this breeze I think I can hit threewood into this. I feel so you see the fat tree on the right in the rough. Yeah. So, from here that is 241. Okay. And we’re into the wind. There’s probably another 20 to the to the water. Yeah. If you’re in line with the green side bunker, the the one that’s tug hugging the water. Yep. You might be blocked out to the pin. Oh. So, you’re saying we got to keep it right. Yeah. The tree kind of comes out, you know, hangs out in the fairway. A little bit like Hilton Head, right? So, pretty much I’d just say right in the middle of that pond is great line. Perfect. Right at that tree. That’s all right. That is You’ll be in the trees, but you should be fine. Yeah. Yep. That’s all right. Get past it all. You’re good. You’re going to have an open shot from over here. I hit that nice, too. I just didn’t want to get blocked out on the left there. And honestly, that’s the way to play this hole. I mean, the in the in the college tournament they have here, like a lot of the coaches will make their kids hit like a six iron off this tee because really, you can make a bogey so easy by hitting an aggressive T- shot. That’s crazy. Yeah. But it’s like, okay, I know I can hit a six iron and wedge or 9 iron on the green, right? Yeah. Is that true that the closer you get, your percentages automatically go up. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there are certain certain scenarios where No, but I’d say as a whole, you’re you’re always better off getting closer to the hole, right? You know, so my my dad was big on that, getting it down there as far as I can. So you’re So the advantage you have on this one is is you’re landing into the pretty steep hill into the green. Yeah. So you can kind of play an aggressive punch to land it on the green. gap wedge or like a pitching wedge? Well, your your first rule is keep it underneath this tree. Right. Right. So, number one and and I would say you don’t want to be left of this pin because now you could see it’s an elevated green. It slopes off. So, now it gets to be a difficult chip. So, your first rule is like low and you have a big opening and even if you land it short of the green, it runs up and breaks to the right. So, first rule is get past this. So, that’s probably a pitching wedge. What? I don’t I don’t know how high you can get. Whatever you like that say, you know what? I know I can hit this below this limb. Yeah, start with that. Low little pitching wedge. And we’re we’re in a place where, hey, just a look at it. Right. So, if you get it on the green, it’s it’s a good look at it. Right. I want a low cut pitching wedge. Look at this guy. Oh my. Oh my. Who is this guy? Oh my. I mean, who is this guy right here? Oh my. He’s calling his shots now. He makes one eagle and now he thinks he’s Scotty Shepler. It’s unbelievable. Yeah, I’m the closest thing I’ve got to Scotty Shuffler. I actually thought of Scotty. Um cuz he’s really good at hit. He like picks it up to the outside and he gets steep on those and he kind of like they come out so low. Yeah, they’re like he always pinches it and I was just kind of thinking how can I pinch this like a little low cut. That’s a shot I don’t have. That shot you just hit. I didn’t think I had it either. I’d have to hit like a seven and land that 30 yards short of the green. Hope I didn’t run in this bunker. Yeah. I’ll tell you what, I didn’t think I had it either. That was the first. That was so good. Come on. You said it’s a tricky putt. The These I find these are You got to help me. It’s a tricky putt here. Well, the this is why these are these are some of the harder putts at this course. So, you got grain that’s pretty strong and you’ve got a fairly flat putt. Okay. Right. Right. So, it’s like you got to trust that the grain usually will pull it. So, it’s pretty you’re you like pretty straight here. That’s how I would I would roll it. Yeah. Cuz I feel like it wants to go left, but the grain’s holding it. So, I wouldn’t give the cup away. Right. Now you make it if you have the right speed, but what happened when it slowed down? It went hard, right? Yeah. So you lost the pace on it. You had it read perfect. But you see how it’s crazy how much that went left to right because of the grain and only when it slowed down. Yeah. So if you hit that same exact line a foot past, then the slowdown happens over here and you would have made it. Yeah. That felt like a great stroke. It was just a little soft on the pace. Dang. You had a good read on it. It is crazy that that putt goes to the right that much though. Right at that pace. Yeah, that it holds it. Yep. Oh man, I needed to trust it. All right. It’s a little miss there, but that’s all right. This is how you can tell which way the wind’s blowing. Which way Which way is the wind blowing? That way. Correct. Why is the wind blowing from from that way? Because they’re landing that way. You always land into the wind. So when the wind’s coming out of the south here at Oakborne, the planes land going down hole 13. Yeah. And they change the way they land every Yes. And when the planes when the wind’s coming out of the north, the planes take off coming down this hole. Interesting. Because they always land the wind. Why? Because you need more wind into the planes makes the runway larger. Right. If you’re landing down wind, you got to have a much bigger runway. You You’re more than a caddy. So same thing with your golf ball. So it’s not going to fly as far or as fast because it’s going to land nice and soft. It’s going the same direction as this. It’s gonna land like that. Plane. All right. He had it. That’s good. Good hit. Thank you. Off the top. It’ll run probably just through the fairway, but it’s fine over there. Little towy. Good swing. Probably don’t want to hit it more than 250. Okay. Uh I would say so like a hybrid. Yeah, hybrid would be good. Get past the tree. Now I’m on I would technically get relief here, but I kind of like this lie. Yeah, if you like the lie. And I would just go go right over the right over the center of that tree. Okay. Mhm. They left fine right there. Yeah, that’s fine. Bro, you hovered your club. I know. Why’ you do that? I don’t know. I was wondering the same tape. He just hovered his glove. I’m just feeling it. Sometimes it releases tension, you know, just like it doesn’t uh I think that’s what’s weird about golfers, right? It’s like we think there’s all these rules like, oh, you’re supposed to put it on the ground or this or that. And when I when you when I worked with Bubba, I mean, he never had rules. Oh, he covered his driver. I’m saying he just did everything different. So, right, how the heck do you caddy for Bubba Watson like that? It was hard. I mean, it was hard in the sense like the first four years he didn’t really communicate with me. Yeah. Uh, you know, he’s a field player. didn’t like to talk a lot about the shot cuz it kind of created doubt. So he just you just kind of learn by observing like okay when it’s like this he’s going to do this. When it’s like this he likes this and right and as a observant you just kind of go okay I think he’s probably want to do this now because this is what he’s been doing when this situation you’re like oh it actually is what he’s going to do. You know right of this pin is falls off the green. So you want to be at it to slightly left of it. Okay. Uh right of the pin’s okay if you don’t go past the pin. Okay. Oh, yeah. Good swing. Thank you. Yeah. Great shot. That’s perfect. Putting up the hill. Yeah. There we go. Right. I’m so You get to putt into some green. Come on. Fun. Did you play pro golf yourself? I tried 99. I turned pro to teach golf and a local uh guy said, “Man, you’re playing really good. You should try to play as a pro.” And so I was like, “Okay, you know, I’ll do it.” And he had money. So, I started playing the mini tours and uh I basically just went to Caddy for one week um in early 2000 to try to learn from the Cornfair Tour players, you know, just if you want to get better at something, find people better than you and spend time with them. And that was my motto. And so, um I went to Caddy for one week and realized really quickly. I was like, man, these guys are really good. Ought to do this for a little while and learn. And then, oh, I learned real quick three months later, we’re playing with Tiger Woods in 2000 Canadian Open at that 600 out the bunker over water and Oh, yeah. I’m watching that shot and I’m thinking you were there for that. Oh, yeah. 20 yards away from him in the fairway and I’m thinking, “Yeah, I probably ought to stick to Caddy.” And these guys are way better than ARB. So, did he hit that thing and like recoils? Yeah. It didn’t take me long to realize like, “Yeah, it’s probably that’s one of the most iconic tiger shots, too.” It was crazy. Yeah, it was a really fun day cuz that I mean that was a big under the circumstances when he had to carry it over the over the water out of the bunker. Yeah. Crazy. Wild. Anything uphill is always into the green. Okay. Make that write that down in your notes. Anytime you ever have a putt on Bermuda grass, if it’s uphill, it’s into the grain. It’s into the grain. Okay. So, that means the grain is going to break more. The grain is going to affect it more, right? Okay. So, read the slope first and then let the grain have influence on that afterwards. So, read the slope and then walk up to the cup and see where the grain’s going. Yep. I mean, it’s a really straight looking putt. Okay. I don’t see much break at all. So, if if the grain’s going this way, so I would add a little bit to it for the for the green. That’s how Yeah. I’m going to play just a hair right to left. Perfect. Oh, crazy that it goes that way, right? Yeah. But I mean, it’s like, see, now you’re starting to see how much the grain affects it, right? Cuz you’re right. There’s not much slope there. If you put a if you put a level down, I don’t think you’d find much slope, right? But that ball probably broke six inches. And it’s kind of funny, like right before I hit that, I could feel I was like, “This feels like, you know, it feels like it’s going to go a little left.” Yeah. I’m gonna sneeze. Sorry. Okay. Are you sorry? Could back off. I didn’t want to sneeze right in the middle. Absolutely. Well, I mean, it would have been worse if I would have sneezed right in the middle of it. Oh, yeah. Dude, if you would have missed that, I would have felt so bad. Tell me that story you were telling me about your your one of your best friends or he is your best friend. Yeah. So, a local guy, Daniel Kelly, came to me for a lesson um you know, five years ago. met him and uh right away I just had a connection with him. I was like, “Wow, this guy’s different.” So, learned right away that he was a Jesus follower and uh learned his story. It was so powerful. You know, he was a a local kid, gang member. He decided to try to play golf and he was there with a muscle shirt on and some gym shorts. They kicked him off the golf course and called the police cuz they’re like, “Who’s this guy showing up at our country club?” Well, a member heard that and said, “Hey, I tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to take you to Goodwill.” He took him to Goodwill, bought him some clothes, bought him some clubs, started playing golf, and golf changed his life. He started playing golf. He started loving golf. He bought an old nightclub, he and his wife, and turned it into a church. They’ve had it for 15 years. It’s an incredible dude with an incredible story how golf and God really changed his life. Yeah. And now he’s taking that same concept into the local community. You think about funding for that, you know, he’s in a very poor uh community. So, one of my biggest things I try to do is whether I’m doing public speaking or anything I can do to try to raise money to bring him, you know, funds so he can support his ministry and support the local kids and keep them going. So, is there like a website where people could go and Yeah, definitely. And I I don’t know the exact name of what what would be the best scenario. We will link it down in the description. I’ll donate to it. Sky said he wants to donate to it. Um and if anybody else wants to take a look at it. We’ll put it at the top of the description. You guys will see the link there. Let’s surprise your friend. Oh, that’d be amazing. Harvest Center Church, baby. Come on. Oh, yeah. That that’s beauty. A good bounce. And that’s going to be about 20 from the green. Give him a big bounce. Yeah. Hey, come on now. Here we go. We’re doing it. All right. We’re going to play 80. An aggressive. An aggressive 80. Yeah. Aggressive 80 shot. But if I fly this to the pin, will it stop? Oh, it’s going to stop. Yeah. Okay. Attack mode, baby. 86. Knock it in. We’re not even putting. It’s almost full. Grant stiff. Yeah. Oh, it’ll be good. Get there. Go. Go. No. Yard short, man. I thought that was real good. Shoot. Couple yards short. Yeah. If it landed another 3 ft, you probably got past the green. Yeah, my wedges are getting better. That’s where I’ve struggled in the past. Um, it’s something with my angle when I’m coming into the ball getting rid of it and how my angle of attack is. I’m going to help you when we’re not on camera. I’ll get you to hit a couple. We’ll go to the range and I’ll help you. You can see something. Yeah. Easy. What a Randy Smith. I’m going to tell you now. Okay. I’ll tell you what Randy would tell you, I think, which will help you with your wedges. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz they’re just my flights are too high and low and Yeah. All right. The grain’s going a little bit like this. Great. So, so play a little more. Play a little more than whatever you were thinking. Yep. They’re kind of going to fight each other. I actually don’t have a read on this, Ted. Okay, perfect. Good. I might need some help. I didn’t like where you set this one up. Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know where I’m hitting this. I I had nothing going through my head over that. I would say give it a cup and see what happens. Give it a cup and a half. Like the grain is strong, right? Yep. Today the grain’s strong. So trust the grain. Flat putt with a lot of grain left to right. Yep. No. Great putt. It didn’t break, dude. Look at that. Right after Great putt. I mean it it right after that. Such a good putt. Oh, great putt. Right after it, it it wanted to break. If if I didn’t have you there, I would have really butchered that one. I would have missed it right maybe because I was aimed straight at the hole. Yeah. And I think I would have missed it right because I aimed that that far outside left and I almost Well, I mean maybe if you’d aimed straight, you could aim that far outside the hole. You missed it that far. Maybe you caught the edge, right? You never know. But I mean that’s why putting so funny. It is. But it’s like I don’t I don’t read that putt and go, “Oh man, I hope he doesn’t ask me again.” Yeah. because I realized it’s a hard thing to do reading putts. You know, my best estimation is pretty flat, pretty pretty flat grain going this way. Let’s play a cup and see what happens, right? You know, and then next time I have that putt, guess what? Next time I have that putt, I’m going to remember half a cup, right? You know, hopefully 165 like this is a great opportunity for you to understand like Scotty Sheffller, the best iron player in the world. That’s that this is a perfect club for you. The the yellow flag is shining bright. You’re like, “Yeah, a down wind. And you’re feeling great, right? Yeah. But guess what? Sky shuffler’s not aiming at this pin. Are you serious? Of course not. It’s 3 ft right of it. You’re rolling down the hill 20 ft. So he’s aiming at that house. Yeah. The right edge that he’ll say like right edge of the house. Great. Give yourself some margin. Okay. I like that cuz I would have gone right for that pen. Just at that shack in the distance. That shack. That shack right there. That’s perfect. What a good shot that is. Now you’re playing golf. That’s Scotty Sheffler. with Scotty Chef and watch. You’re going to get up there and you’re going to literally think, I can make this putt. Yeah. Cuz you executed perfect. And now you got a very makeable putt from 165. And you know what that you know what the average score is from 160 on the tour from the fairway? 3.0. Farther than 160, people start to average more than a three. Gotcha. Inside 160, you start to average. So you’re 165. So you’re right at the 3.0 tour pros. Okay, that makes sense. So and you have a great chance to make a birdie because you played smart. Yeah, that made me swing really. I don’t have to hit this at the flag, but if you’re aiming at the flag and you know I got 12 ft right of it and it goes down a hill 20 yards to an impossible chip now you get oh you’re not as committed right. So like I would have gone for that pin. I’m the same way but I’ve hit it so many times down here this dumb chip and every time I go and I’m so happy why am I going for this pin it you know that was the best call of the day right there. That was beautiful 100% at that shot when I initially looked at that I just I nothing goes through my head. I was just like I see pin go. Especially cuz it’s a bright sun. It’s downwind. And you’re like, “This is a perfect cuz the downwind feels like it’s going to straighten out your ball.” Correct. And now you’re looking at this putt going, “Hey, I can make this.” Yeah. And you can. Yeah. Cuz you’re a great green eater. Come on. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uhoh. Aggressive with it. Uh-oh. Downhill down green. Yeah. That’s all right. You met Triple H. Get focused on the speed and how you want it to go in the hole and trust it right here. Come on. Look at this guy. Look at this guy learning how to putt Bermuda greens. How good is that? Good job. Come on, baby. Good read. Come on, Ted. That was nice. It’s 300 to the tree on the right. Okay. Um, you’re okay if you come up just short of that tree. The cart is fairway. If you end up on the left side of the fairway, there’s actually a tree in your way. Okay. So, that cart, that cart’s ideal. Yeah, I like that cart. Mhm. Probably going to get through, but in the path. Yeah, you’ll be fine. Oh, yeah. 142. Playing up to 45. 45. Yeah. Got a little bit. It looks like a little bit of a flyer here. I would I would try to play this a 45 shot. If it jumps a little bit, fine. Okay. I’m going to hit an eight and I’m going to cut it in there because the nine might go up and hit that tree. Okay. Yeah. Just hit a little easy eight then. Yeah. Yeah. Easy eight. Perfect. Little cut. Yeah, good. Did not see it. That’s really good. It’s just right at Jordan. Great. Great shot, bud. Oh, yeah. Let’s go, kid. That came out nice. That was That was beautiful. I didn’t know how that strike was going to happen. That was so good. Yeah, that was one of my favorite ones of the day cuz it always You never know. You never know how it’s going to come out of there. And that came out with the right thud. It did. That was beautiful. Good strike. Yeah. Good distance. Oh, yeah. Got a good looking roll at it. Oh, yeah. And with your newfound green reading skills, I expect this to be really a good put. I know. I know you’re speaking it. I’m telling you, it’s fun. After this, I’m going be Everyone’s going to be asking me for Look at this birdie putt you got. I mean, that’s genius. Wow. So grain’s going correct. Like that. Yep. So little right. More right to left than I would have thought. Correct. So if the if the grain’s going that way, is it affecting your ball? You’re really, if it’s going that way, you’re rolling on top of it. Remember, grain’s only really affecting it much whenever it’s the tip of the ball. the tip of the grass is is kind of tapping on the ball. So, it’s going against it. Correct. So, but this still overall there’s slope. That’s what That’s what I’m saying. You’re not really worried about grain on this one. You’re just worried about because the grain’s going this way. Your ball’s kind of sitting on top of the grass, right? So, this is all slope, but it’s got to go right to left. Plenty of slope. Yeah, you’re seeing it, right? Oh, no. Good putt. Okay. question for you. Yes, sir. So, if a 20 handicapper started on the green at the Masters, do they win the tournament? No. No chance. No chance. No. Unless you’re giving them dead straight up the hill putts. No way. Really? So, you think they’re putting it off the green? Uh, not putting it off the green, but I mean, there’s just so many places you can be that are just treacherous. And with the nerves and the speed and reads and all that stuff, I just So, you think they’re like four putting a lot? Yeah, I mean I’ve seen when we play tough man pins which aren’t that tough compared to Augusta’s greens. I see my five handicapper friends three putting and four putting. So a 20 handicapper at Augusta under that circumstance and nerves and people. Yeah. And everyone watching them. Yeah. No way. Oh yeah. You get the crowd out there. The circumstances. That’s a big factor. I mean if Ernie L’s can have a five putt on hole one. What’s a 20 handicapper? If you for putt every hole for putt every hole you shoot 72. They ain’t winning. They ain’t doing it. Oh yeah. They’re not winning though. No way. Yeah. They for putt every hole at 72, but they’re still not going to win. Yeah. You got to shoot 12,200 to beat Scotty Sheffller. So, here’s one of the things I like to do to feel the wind. Just turn until you feel it at your back. So, it’s it’s almost hurting. It is. Oh, boy. Just a little bit. What do you need? I’m your caddy. Uh, sixiron. If it’s 75 pin hurting slightly. Yeah. I don’t know if we can get seven there. We’re trying to hit the 65, right? 65. Yep. And I mean, the thing is this is a this is not a birdie pin. You can you can get aggressive to it. Okay. If you’re going to hit the six, you got to go more at it and then you might have the bunker shot. It actually might be or you can go seven just short and putt to it from 30 40 ft. Let’s let’s play smart cuz normally like any other YouTube video, I’m going for the pin. Great. And I’m could just a yard left of the pin. Two yards left of it and attack mode. Okay. Oh no. Workout. Workout. He’s short of the bunker. I Well, that went into the other bunker. Yeah, that’s okay. Yeah, you’re you’re fine. You made an uphill bunker shot from there. That’s not bad. Little chunky there. You had the right club, I think. Actually, I don’t know if that was chunky. It was just You hit it good. It’s just a little right. Little steep on it. All right. Straightforward bunker shot here. Exactly. Oh, I like this. I like the look of this one a lot. Oh, no. That’s good. Good shot. That just shot right on me. All right. So, you’re obviously with the grain here. Well, it’s Yeah, it’s going like this. Yep. Yep. So, not much. You’re saying pretty? Yeah. So, this is just a slope putt. What’s What’s your slope? What do you got the slope doing here? I mean, it’s hard to say anything. I a little left to right. I want to say choke it that way. Cuz I feel like everything’s coming down great slightly. Look at this guy reading greens. Remember the guy that said he couldn’t read greens? Remember that guy? I don’t know him anymore. Great, man. You’re good reader. So that I mean every time you’ve seen it exactly right. Yeah. It’s just you don’t trust yourself. No, I’m I’m being dead serious. Like you just truly you’re just like I can’t read greens. I’m like you haven’t misread but not even close to misreading a putt yet. I’ll tell you what. I like looking in the cup now at that grain. I’m going to start really paying attention to that. This hole is the most treacherous hole to be on the inside of a dog leg you might you might ever play. Okay, it’s good to hear. I like the honesty. But you’re kind of hitting over it. So it’s like literally like a 90° dog leg. See the white steak and there’s a there’s a tree trunk. Yeah. Now go to the left and you see an oak tree. Yeah. Anything right of that you’re not going to cover the trees. So you got to keep I’m going to keep it I’m going to hug it right here on the And you can hit it literally way over here. Yeah. I’m going to keep it left. I’m not getting too crazy here. Yeah. That’s good there. So good. That’s really good. High hold that. That should stay in the fairway. Nice. Yeah. Good shot. Thank you. But you see, watch. If you keep going a little farther, you’re going to see how you got nothing. You’re on a sidehill. Look at the green. Oh yeah. So if you end up here dead, man. I’m happy we kept it left. There’s no way to punch out and even get it on the green. So you’re like, I am happy. Yeah. So So through over there, you can hit a low duck hook runner if you have to. But here, right, no bueno. And that was a very I teed that down low, but that kind of spun up, but it was fine. You landed right here and it kicks over. It’s a hard It’s a hard fairway to hit, right? But I always just go I’m like, just send it in that fairway. I don’t care. Anything over here, we got action for sure. 100%. That’s death. This one’s pretty into us. Um, but I still think it’s an eight. Okay. I still think that if I flight an eight in there, if you flight an eight and land five short of the green, you’re chipping right up to it. It’s no big deal. So, I like it. Okay. I like the club. Oh, a mishit. But look at that. It’s got to go. Right in front. That’s perfect. Yeah. Right where we were just talking about. That’s good play. Okay. That’s a really good spot to be. Nice. All right. Would you chip it? What club do you have? 60. I would not. You’d putt this. Well, I’m I like the putter. What I’m saying is I wouldn’t chip it with a 60 for two reasons. You have an extreme grain chip. Look at Look at this right here. Right. Lot of grain. Look at how that’s tough. Yeah. You have a the toughest club to use that on. And you’re landing into a very steep face with a lot of grain. So, it’s it’s, you know, let’s go with the putter. I want to go with the putter. I I just got over that chip and I felt I didn’t feel great over it. So, for me, the way that I learned to chip around here, I would hit this with a pitching wedge, right? And I would just barely fly it on. It would chase out knuckle cuz you can thin it. It’s like, you know, I still feel like getting it through this with a putter’s going to it’s going to be fine. Get go get your read, get your grain, go look at your grain. So, yeah, it’s right to left. So, if we can get it out here coming in, right? Yeah. But remember that this one’s not running out. So the one the one I gave you on the other hole is running out feeding with the grain. This one won’t get away from you. The grain’s coming this way. Yeah. This one’s not going to get away from you. So here’s the question. If you putt it over here and it doesn’t break, do you want a 4-footer that breaks down grain or would you rather leave it short left and putt saying we go straighter with this? Correct. So this is this is you’re thinking through where you want your next one. Right. Oh no. All right. We got a little tester. I like it. Actually, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. That was good. Yeah. I thought you hit it a mile past the hole. Yeah, that was not near as bad as I thought. All righty. Drama on the 18th here. Hi, Ted Scott here. We got looks like a 4-footer that breaks about 6 in to break par. Think he’s feeling a little nervous. Absolutely. All right, Tad. Shock the world. Absolutely. Full trust here. Get a picture and trust. This is the toughest putt I’ve had all day. It’s a good one. Oh man, left himself a doozy. I got to take this one almost outside the hole left. I’m pretty far outside the hole. And just let it drip in. Right. This is what you’re feeling is correct. You got a lot of slope here. Just trust it. Okay. No. No. Don’t want you. Oh man. What? That’s all right. That’s all right. Shoot, that’s a lot of people. Pleasure. Good job. All that pressure. That was awesome. Oh, I was feeling over that last putt. But guys, that’s even par. Even a fun round. Huge thank you to Ted. We will link all of his socials down in the description if you guys want to go follow him. He has amazing Sunday sermons. But I learned so much today. And hopefully you guys learned a lot, too, because that was that was something else. That that was fun, Ted. Good job. Yeah, that was I feel like something was clicking today. It was really I felt in control of my game and that was really fun to shoot 72. I think my overall scoring average 74. So we cut it. We shaved down two shots. But good job. You handled it well, man. That was really a lot of fun today. Thanks for having me on your show. Yeah, guys. Hopefully you all enjoyed that. If you’re new here, make sure you guys go subscribe to the channel. Like this video if you enjoyed it. We’ll see you in the next one. Peace. But I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more to be a man.

I think my game has changed after this 🙂
Do a video where you play a round with your dad
Grant, you did great. Ted is awesome. Great video.
I love Scottie, but 2000 Tiger beats any golfer you put him up against.
Grant, stop the fade, it’s killing you
What an awesome video Grant. It is wonderful to see two God fearing men talk about their perspectives on such a great platform.
HHH 😂
My favorite part of the Bible is when it says to stone your wife to death for cheating on u.
Get Ted on bob break 80 immediately
Absolutely one of the best videos on your channel. I really hope it helped your confidence Grant. Ted was was great and the comic relief was completely unexpected while still helping you improve your game.
Doesn’t the Bible give instructions for how to buy and sell slaves, and even tells of God commanding people kill entire populations including their animals ?
The TED golf talk was great.
Is this the oakbourn in lafayette la?
This is pure golf
This video, in my opinion, is probably the best you've uploaded. I learned so much from listening to Ted educate you on tour level golf. Great video Grant!! And thank you Ted for giving us all a great lesson!
did not expect this to be one of my favorite videos you've done but it is. Ted is awesome!
That was THE master class of course management !!!⛳
Welcome to Lafayette Grant!!! Home sweet home. Florida man came to Cajun Country
I grew up in Lafayette and absolutely loved growing up there. Hope you got to enjoy some good Cajun food.
I think when u get to the PGA level caddies r mostly there for the players mental game and not the technical game
God bless you both! Grant, let us know if you need a couple of boys for playing partners 🙂 So cool you have Ted on here!
Wish I could get caddied by Ted for a round. 12:48 he told Grant to back off because he was making jokes about his logo and wasn't focused. Ted's mentality: Just do it.
The walk-through from Ted was informative and entertaining. Bring on the caddies!
Learned a lot from this video
Such a great video. Teddy is so awesome!
Ted caddies for bob please
Grant, awesome video man. Caddies really don't get enough credit for all that they do. So many cool stories and ways of thinking about various situations. This was more informative than a lot of the videos with the pros themselves. Would love to see you get someone like Mike Greller on. Call it "Breaking Caddies" or "Caddy Corner" or something. I'll be tuning in!
Most impactful Ted Talk I’ve seen! So many times Grant was about to go off the rails and Ted saved him! A 72 on that track is really good, I think Grant would’ve gone much higher on his own.
A 74 average on the courses Grant has played is insanely good.
Top 5 episode
Almost missed this, glad I didn’t
I think Ted took the blame every time Grant missed his target – caddie mentality
We need a breaking bob video where bob has ted as his caddy and you have Joey
Grant Horvat video of the year contender, EASILY TOP 3
No wonder Scotty plays with so much confidence. Ted is full of good vibes
That is the best golf video on Youtube. Listenting to him talking through the shots and misses was exfeptional. And I'm sure this will help anyone that plays golf. A big thanks for sharing this.
I am for sure winning the masters if everyhole I start on the green. Par 5s come on im eagle easy maybe a double eagle on 1
Ted: “we’re back Mortimer”😂… went right over Grants head! Great Video guys!
Autism makes a great caddy.
Respect Autism!
Love the Coming to America reference.
One of my favorite videos yet. To have that much access to Ted’s knowledge is sooo good! Learned a lot in this one!!
Sky gettin’ crafty with the primo 😆
