There is a golf course where hole-in-ones, which are hard to see, come out every three to four days. Asiana Country Club in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, has emerged as the “best hole-in-one restaurant” for four consecutive years, considering it as the most hole-in-one among golf courses nationwide this year.
According to the Korea Golf Association’s tally of the number of hole-in-ones recorded from January 1 to December 15 this year at 93 golf courses of member companies, 94 hole-in-ones were found in Asiana CC, making it the largest hole-in-one golf course. Asiana CC, which opened in 1993, has consistently ranked high in the hole-in-one survey of its members’ golf courses, which has been compiled by the Korea Golf Association. Although it is considered a difficult course due to severe fairways and green curves, it has attracted attention as a “hole-in-one attraction” in 2022 with 144 hole-in-ones in one year alone. Asiana CC recorded the largest number of hole-in-one golf courses for four consecutive years this year, following 115 in 2023 and 128 last year. The 160-yard Seocourse 5th hole, the 8th hole, and the 195-yard Dong course 11th hole are especially famous for their luck in Asiana CC, with about 30 hole-in-ones every year. All of the holes are known to be relatively easy to attack as long as they avoid bunkers around the green.
Based on general golfers, 1,560 hole-in-ones with a probability of one 12,000th came from 47 golf courses nationwide this year, according to the survey. The figure is similar to that of 50 golf courses and 1,572 golf courses during the same period last year. Following Asiana CC, 88 hole-in-ones were poured out of Plaza CC Yongin this year, making it the second most hole-in-one attraction. Plaza CC Yongin, also a 36-hole golf course, has consistently ranked in the top 10 in hole-in-one golf course surveys for the past 11 consecutive years, with one of the largest hole-in-one golf courses (111) in 2021.
Cheongju Grand CC in North Chungcheong Province had 86, Yongin Korea CC had 84, Lakewood CC in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province had 79, Gyeongsan Daegu CC in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province had 73, Yongin 88CC had 64, Pocheon Bear Creek CC in Gyeonggi Province had 58, Sejong Emerson CC had 56, and Ansan Jeil CC in Gyeonggi Province had 54 hole-in-ones, making it the top 10 hole-in-one golf courses. Four of the top 10 golf courses are located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and have emerged as so-called hole-in-one places.
Considering that there are more than 500 golf courses operating nationwide than the members of the Korea Golf Association, it is estimated that the number of hole-in-ones is much higher.
