Are Vice golf balls really competing with the PGA Tours Best Golf Balls?
In this video I test the Vice Pro Plus, Vice Pro and Vice Tour against the Titleist Pro V1, TaylorMade TP5, Callaway Chrome Soft and Srixon Z-Star. Distance, spin, feel, you name it — everything compared to find the best golf ball for your game.

if you could save money and get the same performance as a Titleist Pro V1 wouldn’t you want to know we’ve all seen the marketing hype behind vice golf balls they’re loud they’re colourful and they make some very big claims but can any of these three golf balls really compete with the best golf balls on the planet let’s find out now the three golf balls I’m gonna be testing are the Vice Pro plus the Vice Pro and the Vice Tour I’ll be testing here in the simulator but also out on the chipping green to see what these golf balls are like on the greens but before we get into the testing we need to decide if these golf balls are budget or premium this is a very important distinction because the pro golf balls are £40 a dozen now that either makes them very expensive budget golf balls or very cheap premium golf balls there isn’t a lot of demand for an average golf ball at an average price nowadays but I’m gonna stick my neck out early on in this video to answer this question I think vice are genuinely trying to make cheap premium golf balls and they’re doing this by doing things very differently to the premium brands can anyone watching this video right now name me one tour player that’s using vice golf balls and can anyone watching this video tell me that they’ve ever bought a vice golf ball from their local pro shop the answer to both of those questions is probably no now before I get hate in the comments I do know that there’s a tiny handful of exceptions but the point is vice have chosen not to advertise themselves in the way that premium brands do and in doing so they’ve saved money on not sponsoring any professional athletes and they control their own destiny by being a direct to consumer company those two things might explain why these golf balls are £40 a dozen compared to £50 a dozen from the major brands but in order to claim that you make cheap premium golf balls you need a golf ball with actual premium performance let’s get testing my testing process is always the same on this channel I hit 20 shots per golf ball with four different clubs the lob wedge the pitching wedge the 7 iron and the driver that way I can let you guys know what the performance is like with these golf balls throughout the whole bag now I’ve got a lot of data stored from a lot of premium golf ball tests in 2025 so I’m actually going to be able to compare these golf balls against the Titleist Pro V ones the Taylormade TP Fives the Callaway Chrome Tours and loads of other premium golf balls but before I can actually do that I need to gather the data which means I’ve got 240 shots to hit so while I crack on with some data capturing why don’t you guys head on over to the course and find out what these golf balls are like around the greens as soon as I got to the club I headed straight to the chipping green every premium golf ball on the market claims to have superior greenside control so if these vice golf balls can’t do a job around the greens then they can’t really call themselves premium but in all fairness they seem pretty good out the box I started fairly short and the first thing I noticed was how these three golf balls felt the Pro Plus was definitely the hardest followed by the Pro and then the tour was the softest for reference the Pro Plus felt somewhere between a Titleist Pro V1 and a Titleist Pro V 1 x and the vice tool was just a little bit softer than a Pro V1 so feel wise it’s quite subtle but definitely different performance wise the two pro golf balls had some extra grab on the putting surface they both have urethane covers whereas the tour has a surlyn cover now in all fairness the Vice Tour is a cheaper golf ball compared to the other two at just £28 per dozen but around the greens I could definitely see that it wasn’t grabbing quite as good as the two pro golf balls once I started hitting some longer pitch shots all of my initial thoughts were confirmed these golf balls are good around the greens the two pro golf balls are definitely better and you have three different feel options to choose from and none of them are too extreme not too hard and not too soft so that’s how these golf balls performed around the greens but what kind of numbers are they producing with fuller shots and how do these numbers compare to other premium brands this is where we really find out if vice are making premium performance golf balls or not it’s time to dive into some data I use club head speed as a controlling factor for all of my testing that way I can give every single golf ball the same crack of the whip and it makes it a hell of a lot easier to compare them all to each other I’m gonna start with the lob wedge and the average club head speed for the lob wedge was 50 mile an hour which is basically a pitch shot for me now in a second I’m gonna put all of the data on screen for you feel free to pause the video and mull these results over yourself but I will highlight some things that stood out to me just as a point to note I’ve got the Provi 1 ball data here for you as a direct comparison because Titleist claim that the Provi 1 is the best golf ball in the world so this would be a handy comparison but I’ve also averaged out the data I’ve collected for all other major brands included in this average you’ve got the likes of Taylormade Callaway Srixon Bridgestone Mizuno Wilson a load of premium golf balls anyway the thing that stood out the most to me with the lob wedge results is the bit of extra spin that we’re seeing all three golf balls are spinning more than the average premium ball yes the difference is very small but you have to remember I’ve hit a lot of golf balls for this test and we’re not exactly hitting the golf ball that hard yet these are 50 yard pitch shots and that little bit of extra spin will definitely see the ball stop that little bit quicker on the green even if it is by a foot or so other than that everything else looks to be in line with every other premium ball so so far I think it’d be fair to say that vice golf balls have some premium performance let’s move on to the pitch and match results for the pitching wedge the average club head speed was 77 miles an hour which is basically a full swing for me again I’ll put all the data on screen for you in a second but I’ll tell you something I am pleasantly surprised just look at these numbers the carry is longer the spin is higher the only thing that’s lacking really is the carry dispersion now normally I would make a big song and dance about that being a really bad result but I’ve seen worse carry dispersion numbers from other golf balls in this space so I’m not too worried here for clarity the carry dispersion is the difference between the longest carry and the shortest carry from the data set and I don’t think the numbers that we’re seeing with the vice golf balls is that bad not the best carry disposition numbers but we don’t need to condemn these balls over that but we are starting to hit the golf ball that little bit harder let’s see what the 7 iron results look like for the 7 iron the average club head speed was 87 miles an hour which again is basically a full swing for me and again on screen now is all of the data these numbers aren’t as impressive as the pitchman results when you compare them to the premium ball averages but compared to the Pro V1 these numbers are great all three balls carry further all three balls have a better carry dispersion all three balls fly faster and all three balls are barely distinguishable with their spin numbers and ball flights compared to the Pro V1 I mean if those numbers aren’t premium I don’t know what is the only annoying thing for me is not seeing the spin number start with a 6 especially with the Vice Pro plus that ball is supposed to be the spinny option the Titleist Pro V 1 x equivalent basically and I’m not seeing a huge jump in the spin for that golf ball it definitely does spin more than the other vice golf balls but I wanna see more spin from it to really differentiate itself from the other two anyway that’s just my opinion but the final set of results these are the ones you’ve all been waiting for let’s see how these golf balls perform with a driver for the driver the average clubhead speed was 100 miles an hour now this isn’t quite full tilt but it’s a repeatable speed which is very important for this test for the last time here are all of the results this is annoying because I’ve been so impressed with the vice golf balls during this test but they are just lacking ever so slightly with the driver the carry numbers are a little shy the dispersion is a little bit worse and the ball speeds are a little bit lower but they’re not really bad enough to talk about I know I’m talking about them now but that’s because I’m doing a golf ball review I wouldn’t notice this difference out on the golf course at all but I guess I was just rooting for the vice golf balls to stamp their authority on this test but with all that said they are competing with brands that have huge budgets and have been in this game for a very long time and let’s be honest with every club in the bag they have pretty much matched every premium golf ball on the market but don’t leave this video just yet I’ve got one last thing to run through with you guys and that’s to help you decide which vice golf ball is best for your game first of all if you want premium performance without the premium price vice golf balls are great honestly I would highly recommend any of these golf balls the vice tool is obviously the cheapest but even these two pro golf balls are great value you can even get them cheaper than the prices I quoted in this video if you buy multiple dozens at one time just have a look on their website to see how much you can save but which one of these three should you actually buy if you have a higher swing speed and by that I mean 105 miles an hour or more with a driver then the Vice Pro Plus is gonna be the golf ball for you now even if you do have those higher swing speeds but you want to reduce your spin numbers the Vice Pro is gonna be a great golf ball for you the Vice Tour however is more for the normal swing speeds so if you have a swing speed of 100 miles an hour or slower the Vice Tour is probably gonna be the best ball for you you’re gonna see some great distance you’re gonna see some good spin numbers and you won’t be compromising too much on stopping power on the greens but overall with all three of these golf balls I’ve been very impressed the price to quality ratio on show here is incredible guys thank you so much for watching this whole video if you’re still here and you’re not yet subscribed hit that subscribe button hit that like button and you know what hit that hype button if you see it doing those three things will really help this channel grow I put data driven content out every single week if you wanna learn more about how to choose the right golf ball for your game make sure you watch the video on screen now I’ll see you guys next week for another video

I wish you would have reviewed the Vice Pro Air. I use it primarily as I have a slower swing speed 85-88. That ball much better than the Tour.
I golf with the Vice Pro soft, I love these balls for winter golf ⛳️
I'm playing the Vice Pro Drip. Love the looks. Not as premium feel as my old Srixon Z-star XV or Titleiest Pro V1 left dash (I used to play both).
Great value for money. Also the Vice Pro Drip green and yellow glows in the dark a bit. Easy to see at dusk in the rough.
Cheers.
I play the Vice Pro Plus! It’s an awesome ball! I also like the pro too
