Alex Noren reflects on an emotional week after shooting a brilliant final-round 64 to force a playoff at Tiger Woods’ event. He explains why the invitation from Tiger made this performance especially meaningful, breaks down his precise birdie read on 18, and discusses how hard he and his caddie worked to get every part of his game sharp. A candid and proud reaction despite a tough playoff loss to Hideki Matsuyama.

Alex, I know it was a a tough playoff loss, especially after the shot Hideki hit, but just how proud are you are of your fight today and shooting a 64 to get in there? Yeah, I mean, I’m super proud. I was, you know, it’s just amazing to get in this field. I got in with a invite from Tiger and his team and and uh you know, it’s a I think it’s an honor to play in a tournament, you know, having his name on there. So, and everything he does for charity and and his whole foundation. So, uh, it feels extra special to to, you know, show up and perform when you get an invite. Yeah. And can you just take us through the the birdie putt there on on 18? What you saw on regulation? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we were discussing if it if it was uh my caddy wanted to touch more left and it then it would have gone in the in the middle. But um it it was pretty clear how it cuz it broke left to right, right to left and and overall it was a I aimed left edge and it was a quite nice like clear putt actually. So some some other pots, you know, you don’t know exactly what’s doing, but this one we were pretty pretty clear on it. And what does that say about the state of your game right now to come in three back heading into the final round and posting a number like that? Yeah, I mean it and especially against players like this. I’m I’m really proud of myself and uh I had to work pretty hard this this tournament, you know, to get the to get the all the shots you need in p in the short game putting hitting. Um, I know maybe a low scoring right now, but but it you got to hit the shots out there and and me and my caddy worked very hard this week to to get it all in shape.
