With 2026 around the corner, LIV Golf has been preparing for significant changes.  These include the format shift as well as a change in its roster.  The ladder is always subject to rumors, given the league’s position in the golf world.  During this transitional period, these rumors should be examined and either confirmed, denied, or neither.

Laurie Canter Returns To LIV Golf

During the last week of November, Laurie Canter had finally achieved his goal for the year and earned his PGA Tour Card.  Not long after, there were rumors that he was about to sign a new contract with LIV Golf.  Those rumors were confirmed, and now Canter is joining the Majesticks GC for 2026.  Canter would make the following statement.

“Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that has helped shape LIV Golf from day one,” said Canter. “To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honour, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition, and identity that really resonates with me. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building.”

Brooks Koepka Coming Or Going?

Brooks Koepka was one of the early signees for LIV Golf, and early in 2025, he was one of the players rumored to be leaving, along with Bryson DeChambeau.  Those earlier rumors have been disproven, but another similar one came up around Koepka.  This rumor is that he will be sitting out for 2026 despite still being on contract for the season.  Koepka hasn’t made any statements on this, but LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neill has given the Sports Business Journal a statement.  Unfortunately, his statement only reconfirms one part of the rumor, that Koepka is still on contract for the season.

Si Woo Kim Being Approached By LIV

Back in October, rumors were going around that there were three people being considered for a LIV contract.  Two of the three were rumored to be PGA Tour winners.  One player whose name was thrown out as a theory was Min Woo Lee.  He promptly denied the rumors and reaffirmed his commitment to the PGA.  However, recently, there were rumors that Si Woo Kim would be joining LIV Golf.  It was even confirmed by Flushing It that he was approached and offered a contract.  Just recently, though, it was revealed that Kim has rejected the offer.  As reported by Flushing It in a tweet.

“It is true that Kim Si-woo, like many Korean players, has been offered a recruitment. However, Kim Si-woo finally expressed his intention to refuse and decided to remain on the PGA Tour.”

LIV Golf In 2026

For the 2026 season, the league is making moves to make itself more appealing to a wider audience.  LIV Golf is working to be more enticing for more players with the recent moves towards OWGR points.  The league’s recruitment strategy always gains some attention during the off-season, and the players are a vital part of its survival.  Rumors are bound to circulate, even if it’s just the league reaching out.
