Pat Perez is departing from LIV Golf after he was left facing an absurd suspension from playing on the PGA Champions Tour.
Perez hit headlines when his then-wife, Ashley, controversially claimed she “would love to watch Rory (McIlroy) get punched in the face” after the 2023 Ryder Cup. It came after Perez made the move to LIV Golf and, after losing his place in the league, he took on a broadcasting role last year.
However, the former 4Aces GC player will not retain the position with the Saudi-backed circuit after being vocal about his desire to play on the PGA Champions Tour when he turns 50 in March. It comes after claims from the Sports Business Journal he could face punishment of at least a year suspension from doing so for broadcasting LIV.

Perez was once on the PGA Tour, and has three wins throughout his career. He has faced a lot of change in recent years, announcing his split from wife, Ashley.
His nine year marriage came to an end in January of 2024, and during the 2023 Ryder Cup, Perez’s wife made some controversial comments on social media.
Rory McIlroy was seen arguing with Patrick Cantlay’s caddie, Joe LaCava. Europe’s Shane Lowry stepped in to calm the situation, but Ashley Perez had words for McIlroy.

Ashley, whose family was rooting for Team U.S. took to Instagram: “I can’t possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face. And I mean that in the nicest possible way… kinda.”
Perez had a career high on the Official World Golf Rankings of 16th back in 2018. The golfer from Arizona has a net worth of $13 million, and moved to LIV Golf in 2022 after leaving the PGA Tour.
