New Ross Seniors
Thursday, December 4, last, saw 60 odd New Ross Seniors battle it out over 14 holes in brilliant sunshine.
Afterwards in the clubhouse we were treated to our annual sumptuous Christmas dinner. Huge compliments and thanks to Anthony, Dala, Breda and Jamie for making it so enjoyable.
Sadly quite a few of our colleagues were forced to miss golf and dinner due to illness, but it was good to see Frank Boyle back (and winning) and also Pat Traynor for the dinner.
Thanks too to Tony and Martin for overseeing this one off shotgun start, with prizes for top nine teams.

The traditional Captains’ drinks were held in the clubhouse on Saturday, December 6. Unfortunately due to the heavy rain in the preceding days the scramble had to be cancelled.
Captains Anna Marie Murphy and Dermot Walsh reflected on and were congratulated on a very successful year.
Incoming Captains Ger Smith and Chris Maddock were presented with their blazers by the Captains.
The Vice-Captains Nora Kavanagh and Martin Codd were presented with their blazers by the new Captains. We wish our Captains and Vice-Captains every success in the year ahead. The annual prizegiving then took place.

To achieve a birdie in the back five holes of a winter 12-hole competition is satisfying.
To score two birdies in the same five holes is a joy. But to top it all with a hole-in-one is definitely something to crow about.
Chris White, our winner of the Tuesday, December 2, stableford competition sure was in flying form when she scored so well.
