SAN DIEGO, CA. – Renowned golf course architect Agustin Pizá delivered a speech and presentation at the 2025 AEGG (Spanish Association of Golf Club Managers) Congress. In front of over 250 professionals from the industry, he shared the vision that inspires much of his work. “We must imagine the future in order to design the present.”
With that philosophy as the foundation, Pizá explored his perspective on the future of golf course design, addressing innovation, sustainability, and the integration of technology within the sport. He also discussed his involvement in TGL, which is redefining how golf connects with new audiences through advanced technology and immersive experiences. Additionally, Pizá presented several core concepts that are central to Pizá Golf’s design philosophy:
Wellness Golf® – where design becomes a catalyst for wellbeing and multi-sensory experiences.
Multipurpose Golf – which transforms the golf course into a flexible, socially useful, and economically intelligent environment.
Butterfly Golf® – the signature model that reimagines playability, flow, and space efficiency.
The engagement with attendees, including key leaders and managers from golf courses across Spain, was highly productive. Their openness to innovative ideas, contemporary design concepts, and progressive strategies enriched the discussions. The AEGG serves as Spain’s leading organization for golf club managers, providing a vital forum for industry knowledge, trends, and the future of golf operations. Being invited as a special guest speaker at their November congress was both an honor and a deeply rewarding experience for Pizá.
“I leave the congress inspired and convinced that Spain is ready to continue exploring a more creative, human, and forward-looking approach to the game of golf. This visit also held particular significance due to my family name, Pizá, which originates from Mallorca, which is near the congress location. Discussing the future of golf in this setting provided an opportunity to engage with both professional developments and my heritage in a meaningful manner.”

Gratitude and Acknowledgments
Pizá expressed his sincere appreciation to those who made his participation possible:

Pizá also extended his sincere appreciation to Hotel Meliá Villaitana for their outstanding hospitality and for providing the opportunity to experience their impressive 18-hole course, designed by Nicklaus Design.
