Prince’s Golf Club in Kent has been crowned ‘England: Golf Course of the Year’ at the 2025 Golf Course Awards.
This recognises the club’s outstanding championship links, continued strategic investment across the facility and unwavering commitment to preserving and enhancing true links golf.
The honour follows a landmark year, with Prince’s confirmed as host of the 53rd Walker Cup in 2030, reinforcing its standing among England’s most distinctive links venues.
Course investment has restored natural sandscrapes, extended fairways and surrounds, and refined rough management, delivering firmer, faster links conditions while honouring Prince’s pre-war heritage.
Off the course, Prince’s investment has spanned the entire facility. Most recently, the club completed an extensive clubhouse refurbishment, elevating the arrival and hospitality experience for members and guests.
Enhancements across the venue also include Toptracer technology on the driving range, a new Odyssey putting studio, and the upcoming revitalisation of the club’s on-site accommodation, The Lodge at Prince’s, which provides 38 en-suite bedrooms and premium stay-and-play offerings.
Prince’s actively supports a wide range of local charitable causes, regularly donating vouchers and hosting golf days to help raise funds and awareness for community organisations across the region.
Ali McGuirk, business development manager at Prince’s, co-founded the Women in Golf Society to create a supportive community for women working in golf. The group has hosted meet-ups at Prince’s alongside a growing calendar of events at courses across the UK.

Following the society’s recent win for ‘Best Initiative’ at the Women’s Golf Awards, WIGS is building on that momentum and plans to broaden its programme further in 2026, with more venues, more opportunities to connect, and even greater participation nationwide.
Growing the game is vital at Prince’s: the Prince’s Junior Foundation and year-round Saturday sessions introduce youngsters to golf through friendly group coaching, supported by one-to-one lessons for beginners through elite juniors.
Prince’s is also strengthening its links to the professional game. This year, the club began supporting Rebecca Earl and Robert Coles as newly attached tour professionals alongside Jordan Loft. The trio will represent Prince’s in competition and have already hosted specialist clinics for junior and women members, with further sessions planned as part of the club’s long-term commitment to inspiring and developing golfers at every level.
“I’m incredibly proud that Prince’s has been named England: Golf Course of the Year – it’s a fantastic recognition for the club and everyone connected to it,” said Robert McGuirk, general manager of Prince’s Golf Club. “This award is down to the dedication and passion of our staff, and the continued support of our members, visitors, suppliers and partners, all of whom play a vital role in what makes Prince’s so special. We will keep reinvesting to enhance every part of the Prince’s experience, while staying true to the traditions and character of our links, and I’m especially excited about the journey ahead as we look forward to welcoming the world to Sandwich Bay for The Walker Cup in 2030.”
