Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen secured his maiden DP World Tour win on Sunday with a thrilling one-shot victory at the Australian Open – a performance powered by Under Armour Clone.

The 26-year-old, who last month booked his card for the PGA Tour in 2026 after finishing third at the DP Tour Championship in Dubai, was able to close out victory at Royal Melbourne by sinking a 10-foot pressure putt on the final hole. Overcoming a star-studded field, the win also earns Neergaard-Petersen his place at next year’s US Masters at Augusta National.

Taking a two-shot lead into the final round, Neergaard-Petersen had to overcome mounting pressure from the chasing pack. However, four birdies maintained his charge for his breakthrough Tour victory and the Dane held his nerve superbly to make par with a gutsy up-and-down on the final hole to register the win with a magnificent clutch putt.

Neergaard-Petersen said: “To get the win at my final event of the year was the only thing missing from the perfect year. I am so happy.

“I managed to just keep battling and then to get it up and down to make that putt on the last, I don’t know what to say to be honest. On the outside you look calm but it was a storm inside all day.

“It is one of those things that I feel like I have done the other couple of days – I’ve been able to finish well. So I always had the belief that if I just kept trying to hit my spots, eventually the putts were going to drop and I was going to be able to get some of those shots back.”

On earning his spot for next year’s Masters at Augusta, Neergaard-Petersen added: “The Masters is the event I have grown up watching so many times, just dreaming of playing it. Getting to do that is awesome.”

The victory Down Under rubber stamps what has been a magnificent year for the HotelPlanner Tour graduate – who claimed three victories last season en route to topping the ‘Road to Mallorca’ Rankings.

Neergaard-Petersen’s performance in Melbourne showcased why he has become one of the most highly rated rising stars on the DP World Tour, with a string of performances wearing one of the most anticipated shoe models in the golf space, with Under Armour’s Drive Pro Clone set to officially launch in February 2026.

The Dane first tested the Drive Pro Clone earlier this year during a full fitting session at the Under Armour Performance Centre at Stoke Park, where he went through Under Armour’s proprietary Footwear Optimisation Process, a detailed system designed to identify the ideal footwear solution based on individual pressure patterns and performance needs.

Buoyed by the performance gains and outstanding comfort, he put the shoes into play for the first time at the Alfred Dunhill Links and continued to trust them throughout the rest of the season, including at the season-ending Tour Championship.

“I was blown away by the performance when I first tested them,” Neergaard-Petersen said. “The fit and stability were on another level from anything I’d worn before.”

For Neergaard-Petersen, the blend of stability, traction and all-day comfort has made Clone a natural part of his set-up as he closed out his strongest season to date.

Richard Palmer-Jones of Under Armour Golf said: “From the moment Rasmus tested Clone with us at Stoke Park earlier this year, it was clear he felt an immediate connection with the shoe. The performance gains and exceptional fit he saw in Clone made the transition a natural one.

“His performance in Australia to register his first DP World Tour win was testament to his qualities and ability to play under the most intense pressure.

“We are proud to support Rasmus as an Under Armour athlete, and can’t wait to watch him compete in Clone on the PGA Tour next year as well as at the US Masters in April.”
