    It was incredibly common on 1920s golf clubs. It was considered a good luck charm.

    I have a putter with three of them on it.

    Yes, hickory shafted clubs are pretty much exclusively pre-1935, and the swastika/whirling log was a good luck symbol in Navajo and Hindu cultures. Clubs were often made with clovers and other good luck symbols during this time period.

    This symbol has bee around for hundreds if not thousands of years and signifies universal oneness, good luck, good fortune. The Nazi’s made it a bad thing.
