Rory McIlroy appeared on CNBC recently, where he was asked:

– You were outspoken against LIV to start, but do you want unification now?

You were obviously very outspoken uh at the beginning and I think more accepting uh is a fair word to use. Yeah. Um but also suggesting that it would be better if there was unification. Do you think there will be? Do you want there to be? Um yeah, I think I I fear I fear that I mean golf is in such a good place but at the same time you you see some of these other sports that have been fractured for so long. You look at boxing for example or you look at um what’s happened at like motor racing in the United States with indie and NASCAR and everything else. It’s I think for for golf in general, it would be better if there was unification, but I just think with what’s happened over the last few years, it’s just going to be very difficult to to be able to do that because, you know, as a someone that supports the PJ tour and supports the traditional structure of men’s professional golf, you know, we have to realize we’re we’re we were trying to deal with with people that were acting in some ways irrationally just in terms of the capital they were allocating and the money they were spending. Um, and it’s been four or five years and you know there hasn’t been a return yet, but you know they’re going to have to keep spending that money to to even just maintain what they have right now. You know a lot of these guys contracts are up. They’re going to ask for the same number or even bigger numbers. So to to you know live have spent five or six billion dollars and they’re going to have to spend another five or six just to maintain where they are. So we, you know, it’s it’s a, you know, if I’m looking at the world of golf, I I’m way more comfortable being on a PJ tour side on than on their side. But, you know, who knows what’ll happen. But um as I said, I think the leadership that Brian has shown already and where he wants the PJ tour to go um you know, I think everyone on the PJ tour is um you know, feels like we’re in a good place and and and trust that his guidance and leadership will um you know, will will position us in the in the right This
