The DP World Tour continues its double header Down Under with the Crown Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. After a 20-year absence, this week sees golf’s global Tour return to the renowned Royal Melbourne Golf Club for the fifth time. It previously staged the Heinekin Classic for four consecutive years between 2002-2005. This is the 17th time the men’s Crown Australian Open – co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR of Australasia since 2022 – has been held at the venue and the first since since 1991. Royal Melbourne was most recently under the international golf microscope when it hosted the Presidents Cup in 2019. At the top of the field is Rory McIlroy, making his 2026 DP World Tour season debut. McIlroy may be the headline name, but there are plenty of other draw cards for the home crowds. Among those are Major champions Adam Scott, Cam Smith and Geoff Ogilvy. Min Woo Lee draws strong support too, while fellow Antipodeans Ryan Fox, Daniel Hillier and Kazuma Kobori will be out to impress. There is a strong international presence, with South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz and Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune among those to receive an invite.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

co-leaders finishing up his round at the ninth pin over on the front right today. Not a bad lead from where he is and rewarded. Carlos Ortiz over the back of the seventh par three broke 70 yesterday. Starts the day two under seven back. Bringing it in very high. This also on a good line. Major champion, Queensland superstar. There’s a bayo. He’s made a move today. Surging to six under. Looking for another birdie to finish off. Oh, how cruel is that? 45 years young now. Adam, come on now. Get going. What a roar for Adam Scots to three under quickly. Brilliant. Now, Minu Lee, they’re getting faster. This is the sort of speed we’re expecting here, aren’t we, Ian? Yes. To 17 Rodriguez for Birdie to get to minus 8. Back with Rory 164 plays 6 meters uphill starting well run. It’s not coming back. That’s a couple he’s leaked out there now. He’s two from two for that bunker as in hitting it. This looks fun. This is five. Alex Patrick to me. Oh, don’t tell me that is using your imagination, young man. The only way you know how to do that is you’ve hit that shot in practice because there’s a little funnel on the back left section there on five and he used it to perfection. Good life for Rory Maroy. Plenty of green to work with. Just got to be careful past this hole. It all feeds away from you. [Applause] Beautifully done. Back to the par three fifth. Well, it’s heading left. Needs to carry the trap. And if it does, it could come down. And here it comes. And that is going to be a golden opportunity for birdie here at five. All three hard this hole yesterday. Maroy on the way. Looks great. Ally because it is time to pounce for Rory Maroy there at five. Rory is just starting to rev things up. Joel Gurbach on the third. Perfect angle coming up the green here. Just needs a little bit of spin. Go on. Oh, how good is that? An eagle too from the man from Switzerland. Time for a birdie. Set up unconventionally and he nails the part. Now, can Rory convert? Certainly can. Stunning iron shot. Rodriguez with the form he’s in. You never know. this for the equal lead. Punch of the fist and a round seven under round of 64 setting new standards. Be a brave man to go at this flag helping Breeze. Hard sand wedge. Oh, this is an aggressive line. Needs a good bounce. Now hold. It needs a harness. Oh, lucky lucky boy. Me and he knows it. Cutting so beautifully this week at Royal Melbourne after missing the cut last week on home soil in Queensland. He’s one under today. Starting just a little bit left of the flag. Drifting back. It’s on a good line. Might have to go and it does. Covers the front bunker. Leave himself at about 16 ft up the hill. Yeah. Quite aggressive off the te Nick, weren’t they? And this one on a good line. I mean a direct line, a game line. That’s a crowd-pleaser. Tough one to read. It looks straight, but there is movement left. Spot on, Yan. And it just gets away from you. Another really tricky one to read. Set up left. Right in the middle for Minwing. Two twos. put the best roll on the ball possible. Surely beautiful. I’m just glad I could still read these greens. Joel Gerbach already on the highlight reel today. His eagle that came at three at the par three. Another highlight. Can he conjure up some magic on this back nine? Oh, beautiful looking shot this one. Straight at it. This will be really close. You’re not wrong. Now he is officially cooking. Mim Lee. Iron off the tea and iron into the hole at 10. up the leaderboard. He rises. Big T-shot for Rory. 131. Gap wedge in hand. Oh, and that was so unlucky. It actually hit the flag stick which then caused it to jump backwards a little. Yeah, it goes sort of if there’s any grain, it comes straight back into him, but then really slippery as soon as it gets over this hill. [Applause] collective throw. My kingdom for an extra roll. He’s thinking plenty of green to work with into the wind. Shouldn’t be an issue. Just dancing around the hole. The 2022 Open Champion. Another Open Champion. An outright champion. Playing champion. Light shots. Rory Mroy. Minu green to use [Applause] which he’s done to near on perfection. Rory Mroy flirting with the cut line in a tie for 56. That’s top 65 plus ties who make the weekend. Oh, just burnt the edge there. Shot. Smart shot. Is it the club? Sure is. As for birdie at 13. He’s had a few right to left today and he’s nailing them. downhill right to left. Hold on. It’s in. And Smith is on the move. Just trying to feather this one over with a gentle fade, which he has done. The time to strike is now for Adam Scott. Turning into a horror show for Rory Mroy. So the drive put him in trouble. Here’s where he was. Let’s have a look at this swing. Yeah, he was going for the ball there. That’s a shot. Even though he was nowhere near making contact, he just collected the branches on the back swing which threw him off and all of a sudden, so let’s see. He’s two, three, he’s four in the bunker now. needs to get it up and down for bogey. But it’s no mistake all the momentum with the Queenslander. Now the bogey putt for Mroy. It’s in the middle. Limits the damage, but he’s outside the cut line looking in now. We almost get the feeling that was a must. It’s an eagle for Scotty. So the two Aussies in this superstar group. Well, the crowd loved it when he pulled out the big step. This one hammered down the right hand side. [Applause] No shortage of great players and no shortage of great drama. Rory Maroy has stunned the golfing world not in the way we would have expected with an airshot on 15 on 14 and a bogey. He’s right on the cut line outside it and out comes the big dog. Well, you can You can attack the golf course or you can play the percentages. And I think Rory’s just had enough of playing percentages right now. He’s trying to force the issue. Great shot. Still needs to make that for Birdie. His last stroke was a positive one. I have a feeling he’s going to try and take the break out. Rory fights back. An amazing birdie at 15. A rarity indeed. Rory versus Royal continues. It’s coming. [Applause] It wouldn’t have shocked long range here for Park. Can he do what men Lee did and roll it dead center? He does. Oh, a bit of emotion from him there. That’s good to see. Very clean strike high up in the air on a great line if it’s got the legs. Oh my goodness. Rory Maroy with another highlight reel moment. He’s got two putts for Birdie. And that putt for Eagle to bring the house down. And he had absolutely no idea where that ball went either. He was asking Harry where is it? Five iron. Got to fly this around 200 205. Good strike left of the flag fading back. This also looks great. The superstars know when to step up, the hush, and then the roar. Not quite going to break, but well measured. And he’s got that cushion alli. Much desired, especially with 18 looming. [Applause] Very little break on that one, but it’s a tap in Birdie and Minu Lee is within one of the lead. Just playing with the fans. very high and flared a little bit out to the right this one towards that tent. [Applause] Kick back on the fairway. [Music] [Applause] lost a few right earlier today, but this one’s going straight at it [Music] and rolling out from Maroy. Maybe another birdie to take momentum into the weekend. What a pass. What a round. Menu Lee will head into the weekend. It’s par for Scott as well and he’s just two back heading into the weekend. The cream has risen to the top. A birdie birdie finish for Rory Maroy. He is going to be part of the weekend action. It’s three birdies in the last four holes for 68. He’s done what he needed to do today. And don’t rule him out. Great value. Rory Maroy. Didn’t he bounce back so impressively? Here’s the leaderboard as it stands. Approaching the halfway mark of the Crown Australian Open. It’s Nearard Peterson and Rodriguez on top and superstar names right in behind. Well, Rory, lot of lot of kids yelling your name over there, but a terrific finish today. Three birdies in the last four holes. It was a terrific grind out there. You had a different golf course completely uh to yesterday. Can you talk about the challenge of that? Yeah. Um opposite wind, you know, win coming out of the south. So, yeah, definitely definitely played like a different golf course, different clubs off TE’s, um you know, a few different options and yeah, it was it was great. you know, the course is firming up and uh it’s it’s really making you think out there, especially with your approach shots. So, yeah, I I certainly haven’t had my best stuff over the the last couple days, but you know, it was nice to finish with the way that I did. Um wasn’t looking great after the the bogey on 14, which I’m sure we’ll come to, but um yeah, you know, overall obviously a great finish. Delighted to be here for the weekend. And, you know, it’s not, you know, seven isn’t too far back. feel like if I can go out tomorrow morning and shoot a good one, I can get myself right back in the tournament. Well, you you uh you related to the next question about 14 because I was going to I was going to ask you about it. What happened there under the trees? Um felt like I could get in there like really low like Sevy used to and just, you know, flick a little forearm and get it back into play and on the way down caught a branch and obviously just completely went over the ball. So, uh, honestly can’t remember the last time I had a fresh air, but, uh, not not one of my finer moments, but it was nice to bounce back after that and and and play like I did the last few holes. Well, on the flip side, what about the second shot on 17? Because when I was describing the shot, I didn’t even know what to call that thing behind your ball and thought it could have gone anywhere. Knocked it on the green. Yeah. Um, I knew it was going to take a little bit of speed out of it, but it was one of those things that even if I was trying to lay it up, I was going to have to contend with that branch or, you know, whatever that was that was sticking out of the ground. So, and I I felt like I was aiming far enough left that I was giving myself a bit of a margin for error. It came out a bit further right than I thought it was going to, but um yeah, you know, rode my luck there a little bit, but it it worked out. It came off and um yeah, it was it was a nice uh nice two putt birdie to give myself a little cushion going down the last and a great way to finish as well. Thanks once again for giving us a thrill and good luck the weekend. Cheers. Thanks very much. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here and to subscribe, click here.

  1. Daniel Rodrigues is a rookie and he is in 1st going to round 3, where the highlights of him ? what a disgrace !

  2. Not one shot from the leader Neergård Petersen. Plenty of Girrbach(+1)… He starts in 7th place and playing with Cam Davis ….Pathetic coverage. stand corrected a chip at the very start.

  3. Australia needs to have a major championship, sleeping giant in the world of golf.

Look at the crowds we can generate with ease over one superstar coming over.
