Rick Reilly has spent the better part of U.S President Donald Trump’s term by making his disdain for the president public while bashing his golf claims and skills.
Reilly’s dislike for the president showed up many more times than when he called the President a “toddler” online. At 2:47 a.m. ET when Reilly was wide awake (on the West Coast, according to his online profiles) and the rest of the political universe was still digesting Thanksgiving leftovers, he was letting everybody know just how strongly he opposed Trump.
“If Trump were drowning, I’d throw him a piano.” He attached #Felon47, a hashtag he’s used as a recurring theme on his feed.
His message came on the same day that Trump signed an executive order for the artificial intelligence “Genesis Mission,” and a late-afternoon full lid, all while Trump’s movements and golf footage were still circulating from the holiday weekend.

Reilly’s tweets became the center of talks again thanks to a new video from Trump’s Saturday round at Trump International Golf Club. The President dropped in a chip from just off the green and walked it off with a celebratory strut.
The clip drew more than 100,000 views overnight, but Reilly already posted a thread accusing Trump of lying about his “38 legitimate club championships.”

“I’ve won 38 club championships, and I don’t get to practice much,” said Trump, who, back in August, claimed he had won 36 club titles. “I beat a 27-year-old kid last year.
“The fairway doesn’t know how old you are. When you’re walking up the middle, and he’s in the rough, age doesn’t matter.” Trump continues to face criticism for wasting taxpayers’ dollars on golf outings.

The president claimed that his recent championship was earned and repeated that the victory was legitimate. That alone caused skepticism from Reilley, who stated he had personally played golf with Trump before.
Hours before the footage surfaced, he wrote, “Ha! Trump adds about 10 every time he brings this up. Problem is, he hasn’t actually won any. None.” “You beat Trump, and he throws you out of the club. It’s like when you let your toddler beat you in a foot race. He thinks it’s real.”

Reilly’s most recent tweet accused Trump of showing favoritism toward drug kingpins and using U.S. military force recklessly in Venezuela. He wrote, “Our country is run by an utter fool. #StopTrump,” before pivoting into a less serious critique of Trump Tower decor, where he said that “It looks like (King) Midas hurled.”
Trump’s golf game was the center of Reilly’s New York Times Bestselling book “Commander in Cheat,” which uses humor to fully detail the president’s golfing ability with interviews from over 100 players, caddies, and course developers over the years.
