Paige Spiranac has received “10,000” death threats as a result of her performance and behavior in The Internet Invitational.
The popular golf influencer, who has more than four million followers on Instagram, took part in the golf event, hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports. Spiranac, who played collegiately and professionally, made it to the final round.

Spiranac, playing with “Big Mo” Malosi Togisala and Frankie Borelli, took on former Masters qualifier Brad Dalke, Francis Ellis and Cody “Beef” Franke in a final round alternate shot event. During the final round, Spiranac was accused of cheating. The opposing team noticed that she was stomping around her ball in some tall grass – you’re not allowed to do that.
“I didn’t know you couldn’t do that,” said Spiranac.
Spiranac’s team ended up losing the $1 million match, as Dalke, Ellis and Franke – who has tragically since passed away – won the big prize.

Spiranac had been quiet on social media in the days following the cheating scandal. However, she has since broken her silence.
The popular golf influencer revealed on social media that she has received “10,000” death threats.
Spiranac also denies cheating in the event.
“I would never intentionally cheat, in all of my years playing golf I have never been accused of cheating.”
Spiranac’s teammate comes to her defense
Spiranac was defended on social media by her teammate, Frankie Borelli, who thinks that she did not cheat.

“I totally don’t think that she was trying to do anything specifically to help us win. There’s so many cameras out there. She’s been at this for so long,” he said on Barstool’s “Fore Play” podcast.
“If you think that something that she had done crosses some sort of rule infraction, then like, I don’t know, people are allowed to have their own opinion. Do I think that she was trying to improve the lie? No. I also think that the footage probably doesn’t look the best.”

The Internet Invitational, meanwhile, is expected to return in 2026. Barstool founder Dave Portnoy has already made some big invites, too.
