Laurie Canter did the unthinkable and turned down a PGA Tour card after earning it through the DP World Tour, packing his bags for the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit for the second time in his career.

Canter has rejoined LIV Golf after playing in the circuit from 2022 to 2024. He then played on the DP World Tour and earned his PGA Tour card, but is turning his back on the opportunity.

Canter has also signed with the Majesticks GC ahead of the 2026 LIV Golf season. He sits 60th in the OWGR and earned himself two DP World Tour victories at the 2024 European Open and the 2025 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.

He ended the 2025 season with an impressive 7th place finish on the DP World Tours’ Order of Merit, Race to Dubai, which earned him the PGA Tour card. Instead, he’s back with LIV.

“Joining Majesticks GC is an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that has helped shape LIV Golf from day one,” said Canter. “The league’s growth has been remarkable and my experience in the league has led me to become a more complete player and a multiple winner on the DP World Tour.

“To return to the league with Majesticks GC is a huge honour, and they bring a standard of excellence, ambition, and identity that really resonates with me. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what this team is building.”

Team captains James Dunkley and Oliver Banks also shared their excitement about the signing, emphasising both Canter’s qualities and the alignment with Majesticks GC’s vision.

“Laurie is an extremely strong competitor who elevates everyone around him,” said Dunkley. “His dedication to preparation, his professionalism, and the consistency he’s shown at the highest levels make him a perfect match for what we’re building. We’ve been a huge admirer of Laurie for a long time, and the timing for 2026 couldn’t be better.”

Banks then added “Beyond his talent, Laurie brings a mindset and personality that align with our long-term vision for the Majesticks. He connects with fans, brings humility and hunger, and he represents the modern direction of our team. We believe he’s going to thrive in this environment and help push us toward the results we’re determined to achieve.”

As Canter leaves for LIV Golf, it means that Daniel Brown will likely earn his PGA Tour card for 2026 as he is next in line for the 2025 Race to Dubai rankings.

The Majestcks team has struggled since LIV Golf began in 2022 as they finished sixth in the debut season before placing 11th in 2023 and 2024.
