So let’s take you live to Daniel Hillier playing his second shot to this powerful sixth hole. Pin position up in the back left today. Lots of slope around it. And that is a pearler. Really tempting players towards the back edge. Britt Ranken thriving in the familiar surroundings here. The 39year-old Queenslander. Here’s Cam Davis. Beautifully played. He really lit it up yesterday afternoon when scoring was difficult. He didn’t make it look hard though. There’s a birdie successfully negotiated at hole seven. And Mark Leman with his approach into the first hole. His 10th of the day turned in level par. That’s a wonderful short eye to set up a birdie. How about this from Daniel Hillier out at the second to a back left flag today and he finds one there for Kiwi. That stage is was the third of his round. So here’s Mark Lein again with an approach shot into two which is a slightly more appealing pin over on that left hand side as opposed to the one that was tucked in behind the bunky yesterday on the right hand side of the green and Sebastian Munoz a three under pass 68 in round one made the turn at level for birdie on his 10th hole of the day the first on the course that’s exactly how he did it yesterday it’s been a little topsyturvy so far today for Cameron Davis Two birdies, two bogeies on his first nine, which was the back nine, but that helped the cause. In for a three at three, the former Australian Open champion, Wim Neman, his T-shot on four. An absolute specky. A round of even par. Four birdies, four bogeies to start his tournament. And this is the 40-year-old Oliver Becka who won the W Open earlier this year at the Mount Liy Golf Club. Just short of the green here in the par five in two. He is lighting the course up this morning. He would tap that in to go four under through his first seven holes. It’s been more steady progress out there from Uto Katzer Agawa. This at the second, his 11th of the day. Just enough down the right hand side. But he’s two under on the round. And just one more here. Oliver Becka, the man that we mentioned, he’s got himself right in the mix here in third spot. Look at that. Spot on. An Eagle three on the par five ninth. Well-known figure on the DP World Tour and always fun to watch. really affable guy. This should be a huge bonus from down where yesterday’s flag was. Classic at the third to the back right flag today. You beauty here at six short range. Well, after a few months out of the game, he’s certainly making his presence felt here. Cam Davis, I mentioned that double bogey on seven yesterday. Since then, he’s been largely unblenmished. Oh, it’s good to see him bounce back after a nightmare day. Raasmus yesterday. Here’s Barnrat. We saw him hold that long bomb. Whoa, he’s very nearly hold it from the tea on the next hole. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but have to take your time on these. Couple of profitable holes. See whether Ranken can make another birdie. He better here at seven. Cameron Davis his third shot. 42 m. There’s that awkward distance. Need to just land this on. Oh, this has come out low. Going for spin here. Not bad. Sebastian Garcia. Wow. He tried to pull out the flop shot and that didn’t work. Yeah. The key is not to cut across him too much. Certainly didn’t on that one. My goodness, he’s making a mess of this 15th after a excellent T-OT. Let’s go back to seven now with Daniel Hillier. What touch from the Kiwi. So nearly rolling that in for Eagle. He’s got a tap in birdie and he’s making a run. Cam Davis moves to six under. Over to the other side of the course with Garcia here on 15. That was for Bogey, which means that’s a seven on the card. Well, growing up in Perth, you had to nine. Adrian now long to hit up but this is his third and it is near on perfect sweeping that one in. You can see our track man by Rolex there just showing the flight of the ball. Very tough pin to get to and as you can see that is an incredible shot from Davis about good lie here in the bunker for leash just got to get it chasing up that hill. It’s not an overly difficult shot. This has come out beautifully. Oh yes, you can say that again. And what a way for Mark Leman to bound up the leaderboard with an eagle out of the sand. And suddenly he is within three shots of the lead and equal second place here at five pin on the front right today. Is he dialed yet again? Oh, it would have been too much to ask, wouldn’t it? Hell yeah. How with the big dog, the driver off the deck? You see the launch on that? Wow. Yep. Oh, that’s going to be awkward. That’s a tester. An opportunity as it is for Daniel Hillier. When you’re playing and Oh, here we go. Got the putter out just reminiscent of Cam Smith at the open. Took the words out of my mouth on the road holder 17th using the slope on the outskirts. Davis. He could have been made to look like a fool if that was about uh 6 in to the right, but that is exceptional from Davis. On your for great up and down should he find it. Seen so many players from that side leave it short. So he’ll tap that in. Let’s see whether Davis can convert and jump to a share of second. Oh, he’s having good fun. So are they. So is Daniel Hillier as he also collects birdie. Very comfortable birdie though and he too likes the sound of seven under. We we look to for projections. Currently they have a about a 70% chance of falling at two es and flows though with the storms that can roll in. How good was that from Brett Ranken? He’s not ebbing and flowing too much at the moment, is he? Just consistent. The galleries are going to get their money’s worth watching this group this afternoon, including the bomber himself, Marco Pen, who is so long that he’s taken driving iron off the first te. And lastly from Queensland, the winner of the 2017 2018 that’s perfectionship. He’s elegantly attired for his afternoon’s work as Smith lets loose down this first fairway which is lined with a very healthy gallery of spectators both sides. So these players trot off down the first. I sure have. Uh crowds are really really big out here at the moment and this golf course is there for the taking. If you got the length of Minim Lee and Penge, well you can rip this place apart. Wow. Henge almost identical line to Cameron Smith and he says thank you very much for the read indeed and he’s only 77 m here and that is off on a great line. He’s hit this a bit higher just needs to travel. Oh yeah, isn’t this shaping up well today over to Minw Lee? Minw a little bit closer here. Oh, and this ball’s coming out nice and low. Will get to the hole. That’s incredible. Stepping it in. They’ve had a long turnaround this group. They finished their opening round 10:00 local time yesterday. Ryan Fox letting rip down the right hand side. Let’s see whether Cam Smith can equal Minu Lee with a birdie here. Nicely done. That’s two so far and one to come. Now Elvis out with the iron. Yeah, I like this play, Nick. It is back into the breeze. He will have a longer second. Generous fairway and that’s striped up the middle. Beautifully controlled golf swing. Just leaving it short of that bunker. It’s down there about 230 m to get into. No troubles. Gua 20 ft for another to get within one of Ranken. Not to be on this occasion. Well, the party hole seems to be pumping. What was that? Right on queue. Marco Pench to start the day with backto- back birdies. The Star International attraction at Royal Queensland this week. His second shot into the par five 15. A third shot, pardon me, into the par five 15th. Key pulled off now. Off it goes. Quickly in for Fox. Yeah, don’t blink, you’ll miss it. 119 on a good line. Brilliant. Nearly perfect from Ryan Fox there at three. Yeah, 147 here on the fourth. There’s no breeze to be had right at the moment. You guys are only flicking only into a 99. And this has gone so high in the air, but on a good line. This one climbing a little higher in the air. That needs to go actually. That is a little bit right and short. So this for part he got the memo on pace but it will cost him one. Great read. What a start from one of the big names. I’m not sure he was swinging freely with the the neck injury spoken about throughout the uh the week. Just a little twinge that happened on Monday to ranking at 16. This is tracking and it catches that right edge. He’s canned another. Another one for the rank and files. 130 m. And that’s a fantastic shot. Depends how brave he wants to be here with only 107, you know, cuz that pin is only three from the right. And that needs to go a little. It certainly is. Oh, he is dialed in today. Nicely done there on six. Just there’s a bunker which Cam Smith found just the other side of his ball there. It’s not in our vision, but that’s perfect. A1, you might say. Tricky shot here for our leader, Brett Ranken. Doesn’t want to hit it too firmly. This can get away from you very quickly. Uh-oh. It’s going to end up in the sand. Oh dear. And it’s gone right to the back. Little downs slope. And he’s got a big ups slope to come up. Shane really have taken a close look at this. Interesting to see if he takes any break out of it and just smash it at the hole. Oh, I knew that was in about 2 ft out. Now pinch just slightly left to right. Yeah, nothing in this. Only a touch. And he’s been on song today with his putt up. And again, well, that’s four out of five. What an impressive start from the Englishman off the down slope and open the face. He may end up where he started. No, kept it on the middle of the green. That’s actually that is actually a very good shot from where he was. Played nicely around the greens and but he was happy by the end of the round. Said he’d had a pretty solid round. W That’s impressive. That’s why you work so hard on your short game. to watch Fox the longest of the three off the tea. Again, just such a hard pin to get aggressive on. You know, you can’t be short right. Prepares to putt on the fifth. He’s a little closer than Adam Scott. What a roll and what a start from Ryan Fox, the New Zealander, playing the best golf career. And the break has done no harm to him at all. And Penge had the 321. Yeah, you got that right. 58 m here. Just got to pitch this some four or 5 ft short. He’s brought this in low and trying to skip it all the way back. Will it run out? It certainly has. Oh, that’s beautifully done. Yeah, that was much better. See him take a more rounded swing. Marco Ping is a man on a mission. He is tearing it up. Look at that for a scorecard from the fairway bunker. Welcome back, Allie. Good to be here alongside Niko. They they sent me in to keep him in line. Elvis smiley. This is in danger. Oh dear. Slight off that. Looks like that’s gone into the darkness there. It’s not good. It was a bit of a risk to play the favor from that bunker trying to get this round going. Smiley. It’s going to be tougher after that. Wow. Miles left. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. He’s got some green there, but I mean it’s obviously not ideal. It’s just about eight paces on. So, probably six on that line. That looked like that popped up a bit. Yeah, that’s okay. That’s acceptable cuz it’s a tight little pocket of the green 173 here on this hole today. You shouldn’t have eyes for the pin here. Mora straight up the middle. Oh, that ball is going up the middle of the green slightly right to left. Oh yeah, it’s a good shot. That’s solid. Extremely solid from Ming Lee. New Zealand’s Josh Giri. Well, he’s missed the green on the party hole has a huge rise ahead of him trying to chase it up that tier. Robbed at the party hole. Josh Gary. Look how far left he’s going. It’s going to have some serious swing on it. He hit it firm enough. Yes. Nicely done. Nicely read. So he had to chip out. So this is his third shot into seven. A new holder of a DP World Tour card for the season 2026. And that is a superb shot. Incredible. Imagine what that birdie could be. Absolutely incredible. What if he’s got a smooth one there, Penge, instead of a flat out one, Nico? He hit one 338 off the fifth today. I don’t think it’s in his language. 228 for Minw. This will be his four on off a little bit of a down slope. And this one coming off on a great line. Just needs to get up that little bit. I think it will. Just climbed a little bit in the air. He tried to play the draw. Nine and Marco Pench. Only 219 for this young man. And that is on a solid line left of the pin. Gets a nice bounce off the shoulder of the bunker. Look at that pin eye with an iron for two on nine into the wind. Welcome to 2026. Probably spun a lot more than he anticipated. Oh, this one started left going left. This is a big old hook. Wow. And it’s a peculiar decision because it’s a penalty area all the way up the left hand side. OB’s miles left of where his ball was. This one going left again, but should find the bunker. You can see from this angle it’s got a lot to get through to get out of bounds down that left hand side like Yan was saying we go up to the green. Marco Pen first this one Alli a little bit moving left to right the wind behind him for eagle. Oh, what a superb front nine. I’m sure plenty of the spectators have come here to watch the big hitting Marco Penge and they’re getting their money’s worth today. Inside the left edge and firm hit them like Queenslanders normally hit these putts on these grainy greens. Oh, he’s pulled it. He pulled the one on seven. Pulled this one a little bit here on nine. Second nine at Raw Queensland. That is Yes. He’s just been hanging in, hasn’t he, for a few holes that Quail just flicks that one up. Oh. Oh, that’s gone off in a really good line. Actually, he’s got a little bit of heat on that. Maybe for missing that last putt. That could be long. Ready? 148. This on a good line here. He’s taking direct access to this pin. Oh, what a shot. Insanely good from out of position there for Midwe. Does he like Katy Perry cuz her music’s in the background? I think he started on the right line, left edge, but just didn’t have the pace. Don’t think it necessarily means he doesn’t like Katy Perry though, does it? Always looked like it just bobbled on him a touch at the start and I think that just cuz it was lacking some authority. Sometimes that happens with the grain. Flighting the 79 down. Starting at left of the pin drawing a little. Looks good. Looks very good. Maybe that’ll be the start of a change of fortunes perhaps for Elvis Smiley. And that’s on a good line. I like how he’s staying in control of that golf swing today. just dodges the sand. Wasn’t going to die wondering. That was firmly struck. This looks a lot more difficult than it is. Oh, that is a fantastic shot. He had about 4 ft of area to land that and he got it spot on. It’s exactly where it started. It’s turning. Oh, it’s landed on the green pin high. Will it hang on? Yes. Big difference. Minwing the forward defensive. Minule for a three to get within one of the lead here. And the crowd, they do have plenty of men to get behind, don’t they? And he’ll certainly be one of them. Through the back, but a nice effort from the bunker. Oh. So close for our defending champ. You can see he wanted that one too. That would have been 22 on the bounce, but have to settle for a birdie at 12 after the one on 11. Trending in the right direction now, though. It’s good to see. It’s a great illustration of the importance of hanging in there. Yeah, on to we call it grinding. This one straight back into the breeze for Pen. She can take on this bunker on the right hand side. 278 to clear that. Playing more like 290 to carry it. Let’s headed over that bunker. A distant memory for Marco Benge. That bunker. Didn’t even sweat over it at all. Clinical birdie by Adam Scott. He’s absolutely bombed this drive. I’m just amazed how far this ball is going. This is 116. And his feet are way lower than the ball. That’s what he’s got to be careful at. And this ball is headed to the right trying to draw back. Just hangs on. Two excellent golf shots by two showman. Normally he’s bread and butter, but the pressure is right on Cameron Smith now. If there was a spot to miss it, this was the spot. Back up into the grain. He could be nice and aggressive here. Well, that’s been his type of day today. He’s going to have to work at this to get it into the cut line. One of Queensland’s favorite sons in a fight for survival for the weekend. Another shot dropped by Cameron Smith who was born in Port Mcquaryy in New South Wales. Grew up in the Northern Territory. Went to school near Brisbane. Widely traveled around Australia. Anthony Quail. Now Ryan Fox 141. Good number for a nine iron. What a shot that is. See if this is for Ryan Fox, for Birdie at 13. You betcha. Good support for the Kiwi star in the galleries. I tell you what, Elvis has absolutely pulverize this down the right hand side. That’s got some heat on it. Perfect. Now H how Voron who’s had a birdie on the party hole. He’s hoping to back it up on 18. It’s looking very good. What a way to finish. That’s five on the trot, is it not? Now over to Elvis Smiley on 14. Yeah, it should be a good angle from the right hand side. Oh, he’s turned this one over. This is heading towards the right side of the green. Needs to sit. He was a long way down after that T- shot. Men with four on in hand. 232 to the front edge. That is a seriously good golf shot that exploded off the club now. Bastair. That’s a long way down off the tea. What a golf shot. Speaking of birdies, Anthony Quail with a chance to join Brett Ranken at the top of the leaderboard. What a beautiful roll. Nothing but net co-leaders now. So Brett Ranken was alone at the top of the leaderboard for quite some time. He’s joined in the space of a couple of minutes by Anthony Quail and now Minu Lee. It’s beautiful out here now this weather. It’s cooled down that little bit. And pen doesn’t hold anything back there either. Oh, that is long. Wow, being on his home soil here in Queensland that he relishes. Now Elvis smiley. 15 the par five. Uhoh. Uhoh. Oh no. Good luck. Can get some spin on this one. Shot. That is fun to watch. Figure out to get over the top of this Horton Bay fig. And these guys do it easily. This is going hard left. Will get over the top of that tree. I think he was trying to hit that way too hard. Well, that’s the only thing that’s going in his favor here off this sort of dirt lie. There’s a big mound in front of him. Anything left of it could run away. Oh, that’s a very, very clever shot there. Took it to the heart of the green. Oh, 123 here. The party atmosphere is happening for a Friday afternoon. No Queensland at work, that’s for sure. They are all here. And this one, this is on a game line just right of the pin drawing back. Oh, and they are partying around this hole at the moment. Just inside that left edge, the Buffalo Trace Terrace will go off here. Got it. Well, we may not have Cam Smith on the weekend, but there’s plenty of star power to go around, isn’t there? Marco Pen getting on the spirit. And it’s averaging slightly over its par over the two days as well. All these players are only hitting a wedge into this green. He’s got it there and in. It’s the sort of part that can make a big difference at the end of the day. Needs to hold this. 161. Get in the hole. This is headed left. This is going nowhere near the hole. It’s been one of those days. Yeah. 130 for m headed a million miles up here. Oh no, that one’s headed left also. Starting it out on an aggressive line. Oh, and aggressive he was. He knows the situation. Big moment this for Minw. Chops it out but over. Now Kabori, look at this putting stroke. Just beautiful. A little bit of Cureaw. That putting stroke will work too right there for Anthony Quail. He’s back on top alongside Brett Rank and Midway Leaf for now, but he needs a par at the last Ortiz. Two for him as well. Can he make an unlikely par here on the last first blemish of the day comes on 18. So he’s going to be one behind the leaders. His fate was already sealed. Nevertheless, no Cameron Smith through to the weekend. Takes care of business men. An outstanding round of 66 five under. You feel for his parents, don’t you? Peter and Lee watching on quickly in Ryan Fox. Sand wedge from 113 looks great. Looks even better now after a disappointing few holes. That paints a picture really of the last hour of golf. Unfortunately for Ryan Fox, there was a lot of good golf before it through uh 13 holes. Double at 15, the bogey at 17. And this man is unstoppable it seems. Cannot miss. He could be the outright leader. Certainly be part of it as we made up for lost time. Four players sharing the lead. Ding Kabori Quail and Brett Ranken. Queenslander who’s had the luxury of sitting back and watching the others try and reach the score posted. But there’s a host of good names who’ll be right in the hunt tomorrow. Minu Lee 5 under today. Cam Davis, Ar Leechman, some big names. It’s been a hot day of golf. It’s been a great day of golf. Royal Queensland. Unfortunately, Cameron Smith won’t be part of the action, but there’s every reason to watch over the weekend in this first DP Tour event of the season.

720p? wow
If this course didn’t have “Royal” in the title and wasn’t Snob Central there’s no way it stands alone as a championship course
Camera work is terrible. Get your guys to watch some PGA coverage to swat up for next year.
