The Drop wraps up the 2025 FedExCup Fall season by discussing the RSM Classic and the fallout from the results. Full exemptions were earned and lost at the season’s final event. One golfer who kept his exempt status was Mark Hubbard, who is the subject of this week’s edition of Every Tuesday. Hubbard takes a Tuesday Pilates class in town when he’s on the road for a TOUR event, and our Matt Every joined him for his session at the RSM Classic. They talked about Hubbard’s status being up in the air and his approach to life on and off the course. We also get a visit from Andrew Novak, one of the biggest football fans on the PGA TOUR, and he shares his observations on the NFL season and makes some predictions for which teams will make it to the Super Bowl. And from the biggest game to some of the biggest bloopers – we take a look at where some shots went very wrong on TOUR this year with our segment “That’s Golf.” And finally, before we say goodbye, we put together a reel of The Drop’s best moments as our first season has come to a close.

Welcome to the drop presented by Serpro. I’m Alexander Lachland joined by two-time PJ Tour winner Matt Ev. And the 2025 PGA Tour season has officially come to a close. Makes me sad, Alex. We had some futures that were decided this past weekend. And one of those bubble boys join me for a new installment of Every Tuesday. You’ll want to stay tuned for this one. Can’t wait for that. And plus, Andrew Novak calls in to the show, coming off a top 10 finish in Sea Island. But first, let’s give some shine to the final champion of the 2025 season. Sammy Valamaki took home the title of the RSM Classic, shooting a whopping 23 underpar through four days. The secondyear tour pro from Finland had four top 10 finishes in his first two seasons, but finally captures his first victory, which moved him inside the top 60 and secured his spot in the first two signature events of 2026. And now taking a look at the final FedEx Cup fall standings. No one from the outside looking in managed to sneak inside the top 100 last week, but a few were painfully close. Lee Hodes, Ricky Castillio each came up one putt short from securing full status, but you’ll still see them next season as they will still hold out conditional status on the PGA Tour. Now that the dust is settled, let’s get your takeaways from the final week of the season. Couple of things here, Alex. Uh, no drama. What’s up with that? I mean, everyone tuned in for the last week of the year. See, who’s going to lose their jobs? Who’s going to keep it? We didn’t get any of that. Uh, last week. Story for me. Sammy Valamaki. I mean, this is a big time talent on the PGA Tour. He’s also a bit of a character. He’s not your prototypical young guy that comes out here with their Trackman in their hands. He’s probably got one, but he doesn’t look like it. Uh, I’m a big fan. The last two winners of the RSM Classic, Ludvig Oberg and Mav McNeely, both went on to have really good years after that. I think Sammy could also be in store for a good year. And there’s plenty of time for drama in 2026 as we move attention there. What are those storylines you’ll be curious to see? Well, a couple here as well. First, Rory Maroy. Where do we get the juice from for Rory this year? I mean, seriously, at the start of 2025, he had the career grand slam to try and close out at Augusta. He also had an away RDER Cup at Beth Paige Black. Where’s he going to get that juice this year, Alex? For me, it starts off early. The the start for Rory is imperative. maybe the players championship, but I’m definitely talking about Augusta National. If he can take down that thing again, you better believe he’s got uh the the grand the calendar grand slam in his in his sights. Love to hear that. And another guy we’ll see on tour next season, Mark Hubard. He found himself on the right side of the bubble. Yeah, I actually caught up with Mark uh right before the RSM Classic to find out how he manages the grind of life on tour. Alex, his answer, Pilates. Listen, we filmed a little bit of Pilates for this uh every Tuesday. And one thing, just don’t judge me here, please. Dude, you’re already getting a head start on me. Come on. How you been? Really good. Thanks for coming today. This is going to be a blast. Yeah, a lot of giggling. I’m ready. Don’t be nervous. Oo, In and out, Mark. In and out. So, what are we doing here, dude? This is a real thing for you. Every Tuesday, you kind of find a random spot. Yeah, especially this late in the season. Yeah. I feel like for me, Pilates is awesome cuz it’s no chance of getting hurt. Yeah. I feel like I’m getting a really good workout this late in the year, but I’m not like exerting too much. And that’s what I love about it so much. Just arms along at your side. Keep your hands relaxed. Let’s do bridge work. Tailbones pulled together. Abs engaged. Slowly lift up. So you’re going to lift up. Yeah. And try to keep that carriage from moving. And then take a dip down. Almost touch the mat. Exhale. Lift back up. Beautiful. Keep that nice sense of space at the cervical. Turn back just a bit more. Nice. Good. Good. Just toss your legs for a second. Let them shake out. That was good. Feel how challenging that was on one. Okay. So, I mean, I had a I had a trainer my whole career out there. I feel like and I have not exerted that much energy on a Tuesday morning. No chance. That’s the thing though is like it’s really hard. Yeah. And you could be in the best shape and you see and you see, you know, real professional athletes coming here all the time and do it and they think they’re in crazy good shape and then they do something that should be so easy like that and they can’t do it. It’s crazy. Uh reach back, grab for your straps. Now start with a big breath in and as you exhale press those long arms slowly toward the foot bar toward the windows. Nice. Hold that there. Can you bicycle your legs out toward me? Exhale with each one. Beautiful. Both legs come out to me. Bottom rib than the mat. Navl to spine. Turn your palms in. How we doing? Are we alive? Yeah. Inhale. Exhale. Squeeze. Excellent. Nice. Easy faces. Relax your face. Yeah. And if it’s getting to be too much, set your head down. You’ll still get a killer core working. I love I love that line. Yeah. Fold your legs. Relax your face. Hey, relax your face over there. Well, do you want that while I’m playing? Send it to your caddy. Fold your legs. Fold your arms. Release your head. You want to do it in that order so people know you’re well trained. We got it. There you go. Let your hair off. You can let your feet revive here. You can relax. Add ease. Go ahead and set those straps down. Good. All right. Come on up to standing. And from standing, we’re going to go into just a little bit of lunge work, which I think you’ll actually appreciate for today. I feel like I got a pretty good read on my buddies out there. The fun meter on my buddies. You’re at You’re at the top. Um, do you think over your career that’s helped or hurt you? Probably both. Yeah. You know, it’s like anything else in life, it’s balance. When I am having too much fun, my golf game is suffers. And when I’m not having enough fun, my golf game and my life suffers. Isn’t that crazy? Yeah. Yeah. It’s just it’s finding that perfect medium. We’re so pent up with our stress and and competitive stuff. You just got to let it out sometimes. Yeah. And knee comes more into the chest than behind you. Lift. Ah. Yes. Nice. Catch that handle with both hands. This is always a tricky one for people. So, you’re going to keep your hips square. Hug a tree. Yes. Keep the integrity of that shape. Exhale. Rotate your spine to center. Beautiful. Drop your left shoulder an inch. You got it. Exhale and rotate. Nice with the hip stability. Good, good, good. Yeah, that’s going to serve you well on the course for sure. All right. And then if your bodies if your bodies need to do other side, let me know if you win this week, dude. I mean, I get Do I get to claim it? We’ll be back next year. Okay, good. Okay, so from there, lifting up. Don’t forget abdominals are your levitation. Lift up from that navl to the string on the ceiling. You starting to feel your quads a little bit? Yeah. Start to pulse up. Start to pulse up. Drop your shoulders. Drop your shoulder. Let’s go. Pulse. Eight. And seven. Little tiny pulses. Little tiny pulses. Yeah. Little tiny pulses. You got it. Hands can maybe come down. Yes. Four more. And three more. Don’t go anywhere. Pulse low. Eight. And seven. Keep those knees tracking with second toe. Breathe out. You have four more. You have three. Are you toast or can you stay? Stay. Pulse the back leg. Don’t let the front leg go. Are we done? We’re done. We’re done. You got Don’t let it fling though. That’s a mouse trap. There you go. You said last fall this this helped your game. How come not this fall? What’s the deal? Just been a little more burned out. Yeah. Um and you know with the move and I got two little kids. Yeah. What’s family life like for you now? It’s great. They’re they’re three and almost five. Oh wow. Um think of it. Yeah. They’re here this week. Like full-time travel 80%. Uh which is great. You got to do it now before they start. Absolutely. Yeah. Um, I mean, I’m lucky because I’ve always been a guy who likes to play. I’ve always played more. I think I actually hold the record for most tournaments in a really season. Yeah. 39 with that wraparound season. Wow. That’ll never be broken. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I mean, doing stuff like this, getting away from it like we talked about, you know, like that that week when I didn’t get into Bay Hill and and going skiing and just being home in the mountains and with family, like that rejuvenated me so much. Heck yeah. Let’s try something different. Let’s do the stability balls. Okay. So, we’ll just kind of put them here. Then, go ahead and fold your legs. Place the soles of your feet on the mat. See if you can keep your feet exactly where they are. Tuck your elbows. Tuck your chin. Come all the way up. Nope. Yeah. Or maybe come on up. Hey. Hey. Hey. That wasn’t so bad. Good. And roll down. Take your time. Take your time. Take your time. Finish strong. Yeah. Nice. Good. Good. Good. Mark, I’m gassed. Dude, that was a blast. Um, I’m going to need like a week to recover from this. I really hope you have a great week and so I don’t feel bad about dragging you in here and doing it this week, but we really appreciate it, dude. That was killer. Yeah. No, you’re good, man. And I think you’re going to be surprised. I know you’re gassed right now, but that’s the great thing about Pilates is that I think you’re going to be all right tomorrow. You’re actually going to feel pretty good. Well, we’ll be watching this week, dude. Can’t wait to see. Thank you, Alex. I’m uh I’m still recovering from that. I’m happy to report though that Mark Hover shot nine under par in the second round and retained his playing privileges next year on the PGA Tour. Listen, you never know what you’re going to get with an every Tuesday. How do you feel? That lady was riding me too big time. I feel like I was getting targeted in there. It was good stuff though from Mark. Uh I I’ll be back. We’re used to seeing PJ Tour players make the difficult shots look effortless every weekend, but there are rare instances where they can seem relatable to the weekend golfer. Yeah, even the best in the world are mortals just like us. And we highlight some of those human moments in our segment called That’s Golf, right? That, my friends, is a familiar sight on a Saturday morning at a lot of clubs. It looks like it’s right in front of him. Oh my word. You hate to see it. Oh my goodness. You wonder how that swing could ever produce a result like that. But that’s golf. We start here with Ludvig Oberg. And what is a fantastic approach at the memorial tournament and a absolute beauty in there boy in close. Probably 4 feet for birdie. But we all know the job isn’t done until the ball finds the cup. That’s too bad. One of the best second shots of the day at 10. Justin Thomas on the TF scorable par five. railway there and out of bounds. Sorry, sir. And the driver went flying to the left. His provisional found the fairway, but his next shot came up short, leaving JT with a tricky chip shot. Hopefully the green does the work. It’s doing the wrong kind of work, Frank. Uhoh. Uhoh. Can’t make it up, Frank. Well, you stand on this 13th T and you know it’s reachable par five and then this happens. And now a look inside the Jordan speed experience at the memorial. Oh boy, I just connected it so bad. I think it’s up, but I don’t know that he’s going to want to get in there and try to play it out. I think the water’s too deep, Michael. Uhoh. There’s a cart path over there. There’s also out of bounds, and that’s going to be a problem for Spath. Well, the roller coaster ends the only way Spe knows how, and that’s with an unlikely car. How good is this? Put him in trouble. he’s liable to do something like that. Sure how he did it, but he did made par. Our final monthly segment presented by Dreamfinders Homes to talk a little football with our guy Andrew Novak. Andrew, we saw you on the golf course for the first time this fall at the RSM Classic. Came out of the gates with your ears pinned back, dude. Uh solo leader heading into the weekend. kind of threw it in neutral a little bit, but overall a tied for seventh. Before we get into the football stuff, uh how do you feel about your week last week? Yeah, I I played very well. Uh especially early on. Um you know, it’ been what, three months since I played a tournament, so I didn’t really know how I was going to come out. I felt good about the game, but sometimes it can take a bit to get used to like tournament golf speed. And I came out flying. uh gave myself, you know, a good chance to win a tournament on the weekend. Just had some weird stuff happen. Uh struggled with the driver at times and just didn’t give myself enough opportunities to to kind of cash in, but it was still a good tournament. All right, dude. Let’s get to the football. We had America’s game of the week, Cowboys versus Eagles. Eagles got off to a hot start, however. Uh 24 unanswered points by the Cowboys. is that Eagles, the defending champs, the Eagles, uh, their locker room’s in a bit of turmoil right now, as well as their offense just in in general. Is there a path back to the Super Bowl with them the way kind of things are right now? Um, on the offensive side, I I think right now like the biggest issue I’m seeing is they’re incapable of running the football. Philadelphia has always been able to basically put games away because of their ability to run the ball. Uh the tush push gives them advantage on any third and fourth and short and they can just possess the ball and Slon had no running room. I think the Eagles need to figure out how to get more out of their running game if they want to win some of these games. Let’s move over to uh the Eagles opponent in last year’s Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs. Dude, they got a win yesterday by the skin of their teeth, but it looks like uh the road, you know, the road to the AFC Championship is not going to go through Arrowhead this year. That being said, if they can sneak their way into the playoffs, do you do you think there’s a path back for the Chiefs to the Super Bowl? Yeah, I I think the Chiefs are still improving like week to week. I mean, this was a big win for them. Slow start in the game, but uh finally winning a close game, I think we’ll give them a lot of confidence. This defense is still quite good. Uh this offense has been kind of hitting their stride. I still think that this is a very dangerous team come playoff time. Uh, not having the arrowhead advantage is definitely a bit of a knock, but there’s not really any teams in the AFC that are truly scaring me. The Bills look a bit rough right now. The Ravens haven’t really proven anything in the playoffs yet. Like I I probably would be taking uh the Chiefs out of the a out of the AFC if um you know it ended today. All right, before we get you out of here, dude, last month we asked you for a Super Bowl pick. You gave us the Chiefs and the Bucks. Do you want to revisit that? Maybe change one or two of those or you you hanging around with that? That Baker injury definitely changes things. The Bucks can’t stay healthy at all right now. Uh I’m still sticking with the Chiefs. I I feel like pretty confident that they can still get through the AFC. They just do things in the playoffs. Uh out of the NFC, man, like there’s a lot of decent teams. I still think it’s probably the Rams. Uh they they’ve looked like the best team in the NFL right now. Um it’s going to be a tough road for any NFC team. I think there are a lot of like kind of scary NFC teams, but I I’ll take the Rams right now. All right, man. We appreciate you coming on and uh we’ll see you in January. Mulligan Moments presented by Surf Bro on the UPS slope. Perfect fly, but a long bunker shot. That caught a lot of ball there. Needs to get down. Compounding mistakes. It’s a par putt. What a save. Scored a zero putt for Carson Young. And Kaya came up short back at the 12. Par putt from the fringe or Kay at 12 holds it. What a huge putt. I thought he actually might go less than driver here, Johnson, but we saw in Utah that was his that’s going to be down in that wash out area down the right hand side. Had that way back in his stance. Oh, that’s going to get better, too. Off the back stop. What a shot, Michael Brennan. Are you kidding me, Johnson? What a play he just came up with there. Now, this birdie. Yeah, good luck. Filling it up. Thank you. Well, with this being our final show of 2025, we want to thank all of you at home for joining us for the first year of the drop. Yeah, we’ve had a ton of fun bringing you closer to the action, both inside and outside of the studio, and getting to know the players we all love watching every week. Alex, and we’ll be back in January to preview another exciting season on the PGA Tour. But before we go, we leave you with some of our favorite moments from our debut season here on the Drop. Thanks for watching. Great. Sorry, Matt. It’s going to be a great uh check it out. We’re going to be checking it out this week. And um hey, realize and then get excited for the tournament. Yeah, Jack’s coming out to play a few holes with us and I just happened to hit the luckiest shot of my life and hit a hole in one. You are the best in the world from 50 to 125 out of the rough. Pretty good stat on the Tiger Woods of 50 to 120 from the rough on the golf course. Who is more emotional? Oh my gosh. The college you went to, Wford, I don’t believe they have a football team. First off, Wford does have a football team. Oh, they do. quite good. You were quite good when I was in school. We got some guests here, Paul. Wow. That is unbelievable. What in the heck kind of surprise is this? You have been named the recipient of the 2025 Payne Stewart Award. It’s a great honor. It really is. You said at the beginning of the week the headline for your season was close, but no cigar. Oh, yeah. We need to change that, don’t we? What is it now? Uh, don’t know. One giant big fat cigar at the end of it. If Joey Chestnut and Usain Bull had a race where they had to eat a hot dog and run 100 meters, who would win? Oh, Joey Chestnut. Cuz what is Usain’s 100 meter like? His record was like 9.7 or something. I think Joey could eat a hot dog in 2 seconds. But then he had to run the 100. Wait, what? Did you figure out your question for Sam Burns yet? Why haven’t you grown your hair longer again? You answer that later. All right. How many bad shots has Scotty hit today? I mean, it’s Oh, right in the middle. But I want to hear about the Oasis. Wait, what? What do you mean? What’s that? Your new EIG company? My new EIG company? What is O? Are you serious? You don’t know what Oasis is? No. What is it? Let me get some tips on how to do this happy thing. It’s just like a kicker. One, two. One, two. Stick the right foot on the landing. Let her rest.
