A dog has been attacked by a man with a golf club in what police have described as a “distressing and unprovoked act of violence”.

The incident happened at about 13:00 GMT on Saturday 8 November at Lickey Hills Country Park and Visitor Centre in Rednal.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the “a man hit the dog with a golf club he was carrying”.

They added the dog suffered “swelling to the face and dislodged teeth” and the force was now keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
